There's alot to be said about Kantian philosophy. It's surprising that it isn't more popular in the current age.

Anyway, Bass, is this poll just because you're bitching that people closed the thread before you were done spouting clichéd libertarian slogans at everyone (and to be fair I'm on your side, the intolerance of heated debate at this site is absurd)?

Or are you actually concerned that there's too much civility in the day to day interactions of people within society? Is asking "how ya going?" and saying "have a good day" after serving someone in a supermarket sucha bad thing? What's wrong with excusing yourself if you have to push past someone?
Neither of those are actually correct. This is honestly because of an incident with xkeeper that happened 2 or 3 days ago. Ask him if you want.

I'm also not "concerned" with civility like excusing yourself if you push past someone. Maybe just "polite" was the wrong choice of words. I'm talking about being overly polite through the use of euphamisms and tricky linguistic obfuscations. Saying "excuse me" is one thing. Calling a 900 pound man "big boned" or calling an OLD woman "107 years young" is something else entirely.

Normal politeness is fine, what worries me is when it turns into a grotesque evasion of obvious truths.

This actually happened before. You know what I did. I stopped smoking after enough people said it. Don't knock on that kind of negative reinforcement. It really works.

I now chew 5000 peices of nicorette per day.

Allow me to recomend a unit made by ATI because the ATI tuner software suite is really nice. It has a built in program guide and recording scheduler and everything.

Fine, I am going to tell you that you're basically screwed then. They don't make socket 370 cpus that are worth a damn. All you'll be accomplishng is an upgrade from truely ancient to merely antique.

Mass transit sucks in general. I hated the busses when I was in the UK, busses and trains are just so awful. No more busses for me, ever. I don't care if my car gets 12 mpg, IT'S WORTH IT. Public transportation sucks just because it's public, if for no other reason.

I wouldn't use public transport even if it was free. It's not worth the inconvinence. Schuling my day around some bus schedule, putting up with other passangers, and so on. No thanks.

I do have a point and I'm glad someone here sees it. The best socket 370 chip in existence is still so slow that it's not going to make a difference. It's essentially a waste of money. A much better idea would be to save up for a new system, even if it takes awhile. The worst CPU newegg even sells is a 2ghz Celeron.

Seriously, save up, upgrading a fossil is ultimately a waste of money.
If you're seriously hurting for cash, save up to get a Celeron-D for like $50 and get a generic $15 case, a $25 mobo with onboard everything, some cheapass generic ram. Total cost: less than $150 and it will totally blow away any upgrades you could ever make to a socket 370 machine.

It's not about the price. Some things, like working your schedule to fit some bus timetable and putting up with the people on the busses, just isn't worth it.

Not that it matters ultimately. Busses are nonexistant here anyway.

Everyone knows people break the speed limit, but how bad have you broken it?

How fast have you driven on the roads?

I can imagine Nevada would be an awesome place for speeding. I could do like 160 on the salt flats.

I wound up going 94 mph by accident in my Chevy Cavalier while driving through West Virginia. The speed limit on the highways is 70, so I was of course driving that and then some, and I didn't realize how fast I was going until I noticed that I was coming up on the car ahead way too quickly.
Cavaliers are unusually fast for 4 cylinder cars. I'm not surprised.

Well, we use kilometres here.

The fastest speed limit they have here is 110 on rural roads. I drove 160kmph to a friend's place.

I tried to do a conversion, but I don't know if this is right... 100mph.
That's why I did the conversion for everyone in the poll itself. Btw, your conversion is right.

You've got alot to learn if you can't tell the difference between C#, VB, and J#. They're not even a little bit similar. Espicallt C# and VB which don't even have similar syntax.
