That's a pretty awesome idea actually. "Random Article" button FTW.

Why not put a blindfold on, get someone to knock you out with a frying pan, drive you 100km away, drop you in a forest, and when you wake up, try to find your way home.

(Aside from the fact whoever did it will probably get in extreme trouble, it would be a very exciting adventure for you )

Off-Topic: Luisv - I really don't think you know Kyouji that well at all. He has a different way of rating things then most people. He is not putting anyone down when he comments on hacks - I used to think he did when I was a lurker. I began to realize - no, he's actually quite helpful, believe it or not. He has never once said "this sux lolerz." That's what you seem to do though. And really now, before you go putting down hacks, at least make one of your own. (Yes, I know you are not a hacker)

On-Topic: You know, I have a lot of time to spare, so I"ll do each screenshot individually: (left to right)

Intro:

1: No comment. It's Nintendo
2. I like the font in SMW. However, I really don't like the colour. May I suggest darkening it a tad bit?
3. "He took place over a new world and went to a spooky place?" Doesn't make sense. Try "He has taken over a new world, and went to a spooky place"

Levels:

1 - Outside: Pretty nice, however, the black door looks like it was snipped out of the tree. I'm not sure what you could do to make it blend in more - perhaps put some shading in it, or add a border?
2 - Flower Isle 1: Nice BG
3 - Flower Isle 2: Autumn now
4 - Flower Isle 3: Spooky. I notice a lack of coins so far - do you put many in your hack?
5 - Iggy's Castle: K.....something about this seems bland. May I suggest adding putting a pillar or two in for detail?
6 - Lakeside Hill 1: Is that BG from Super Mario Kart? I like it
7 - Lakeside Hill 2: <3 the sky palette
8 - Lakeside Fort: Beautiful. This is my favorite screenie so far.
9 - Lakeside Hill 3: Wow. Mario hopped into a magical rocket and flew from the ground to the clouds.
10 - Mushroom House 2: Oooooh, a shop. Looks very nice
11 - Ludwig's Castle: The FG is nice, but the BG palette kills my eyes. I would suggest completely changing the colour here.
12 - Green Fields 1: That rock is...way too 3D
13 - Forest Ruin: Looking good, however, theres another YI graphic - the lava. And it doesn't look good. I'd use the regular SMW lava here.
14 - Green Fields 2: Hmm. No comment here.
15 - Ship Wreck: Very nice. All of it.
16 - Green Fields 3: Yeah...very bland
17 - Roy's Castle: I love the FG, hate the blandness
18 - Haunted Mansion: Alright. The FG here and the BG right below it clash like hell. I would think the bottom part of the BG is actually the FG just by looking at it.
19 - Underground Ruin: Very nice.
20 - Rocky Valley 1: Valleys and canyons are my favorite kind of levels. This is the best background I have ever seen, just because of that fact
21 - Rocky Valley 2: Donut Lifts FTW
22 - Morton's Castle: The right crate looks stuck in the wall
23 - Spiky Cave 1: Hey. I haven't seen that BG in forever. Sweet.
24 - Spiky Cave 6: I really like the pipe palette here. Adds a nice, shadowy effect to the level.
25 --> 31: All of these have nice graphics, but are empty and boring
32: 1-1 Winter: I agree with Icegoom. This sticks out from the rest of the hack
33: Volcano Plat. 2: I like it all. The BG and the FG. I also like all the action too. It's extremely action packed
34: Mysterious Road: Awesome looking. Awesome.
35: Bloody Fortress: NOOOOO NOT THE TOADS
36: Volcano Plat. 4: Nice
37: Larry's Castle: The gears in the BG animate, don't they?
38: Desert Oase 1: Sweet GFX, but yeah...you need a better name.
39: Cemetary Alley 1: OMG CREEEEEPY. May I suggest throwing in a gravestone or two?
40: Aquatic Ambience: That BG looks strangely hypnotic
41: Air Ship: BG + Fog = Win

Overworlds:

1: K, no doubt, this is obviously one of the best OW's out there. The water looks really great next to the OW
2: Awesome. Truly awesome
3: The new ghost house graphics look nice. The coin ship, however, is cartoony in a partially-realistic OW
4: See #2
5: This is the only one I don't like Add some pointy rocks and stuff, bit more detail
6: I SEE A FACE IN THE WATER!!! (P.S. if you add a snowman in there I'll give you $100)
7: See #2
8: This looks really nice. However, the pyramids looks like they are pasted on the sand, as opposed to sticking out. Try drawing a shadow behind them. Also, if you haven't already, you could add a secret exit leading out somewhere (the oasis maybe?)
9: Looks good. I really hope you're gonna use the right side of that OW

Alright, my hands are aching. All in all, this hack has definitely changed since you released it before. The graphics look awesome, even though they aren't...consistent. Level design is really nice, but you need to add some enemies/coins - I hardly see any coins at all.

Nice work. Will definitely play it when you release it

Lespna01: Congratz at figuring out at to graphics edit, that's usually what throws people off A couple icon graphic issues I noticed, are 1-1 (picture is fine, palette is buggy) ...I find 1-4 nice for some reason, it's an evil looking Milde ... I don't like 1-6 all that much - 1-7 looks nice too, but as you said, the palette is also buggy. You said you don't know how to fix them? Neither did I, at first. Unfortunately, the only way to fix them is to find the palette they use in game, and redraw the colours onto it the best you can. I know it sounds hard - it is at first, but once you get the hang of things, it isn't too bad

(Oh, by the way, when making icons, you shouldn't copy sprites from the game onto them. Their palettes get really buggy, and unless you are very good at working with 16 colours, you best just use the icons from other levels.)

WARNING: THIS GAME IS FOR ADVANCED, ACTIVE, SMART AND DEVOTED PEOPLE ONLY!

This game should prove to be a new unique experience. You will NOT be answering questions, you will NOT be putting words together. In this game, you must use various forms of logic to escape the haunted house.

"But how is this possible in words? Are you mentally unstable"

No no no, let me explain.

THE BACKGROUND

In this game, there are 4 volunteers who have been captured by a mad scientist and tossed into opposite corners of a dark, mysterious house. The mad scientist is none other then, yours truly, SNN!

THE RULES

This game plays sorta like Po100T, but not really. Throughout your turns, you will move around the house (using a "scrawled map" you all happen to find on a table in your corner) interacting with your "environment" (I will give you detailed descriptions about the room you are in - don't worry, it won't be too difficult ). The main goal of the game is to, obviously, escape the house. However, only one of you can escape. Leaving the house will alert the mad scientist, and he will in turn, kill your friends. How pleasant. Be the first to find your way out of the house.

You may find various objects on the way, which may help you/hurt you, or help/hurt your comrades. (Example: You may find a key on a table that can help you get closer to the exit....or you may find a switch that causes a huge boulder to fall in front of one of your comrades, blocking them in and forcing them to find another way out) You may also find various items to bring you, such as healing herbs, mysterious potions, etc.

There are certain things you may and may not do on your turn, and they will be classified into the following do/don't chart. You may do ONE of these per turn, unless otherwise stated.

DO:
-Move to another room
-Interact with objects in the room you are in (such as "picking up" "pulling" "pushing" "crawling"...whatever is appropriate)
-Use an item.
-Unlock a door

DON'T:
-Do a mixture of above
-Do something that makes no sense at all (lol push on wall for no reason lolerz)
-Bring heavy objects with you (no, you are not allowed to carry the stool with you)
-Use your "body". NEVER use your "body" for anything (example: if a locked door is rotten and weak, you are not allowed to ram into it. Use an object, or find a key)

That about coves the do/don't list. I'm sure more will be added as the game progresses.

It is possible, in the game, that you may come across one of your comrades. In the event of this happening, you may offer trades. No, you are not going to savagely beat each other, you are "friends" remember? Help each other through the mansion, but still aim to escape first. (example of this: if you have a potion, and they have a key...you may offer a trade. It is up to them whether they accept or decline)

Each person has exactly one real life day to make a turn, or their turn is skipped. The game is already long enough, we don't need slackers

As you enter a new room, a description will be given to you about that room. Here is an example:

You have entered the ballroom. There is a door on the south and east wall. The east door is locked. Great ornate chandeliers hang from the ceiling. There is a strange looking coin in the middle of the floor

Since it is freeroaming, you can feel free to do ONE action (cannot stress this enough) in each room. You may choose to pick up the coin. You may choose to go through the south door. You may choose to unlock the east door. OR, you may want to know more info about the room.

Also, watch for traps. If you see a room like this:

You have entered the cellar. It is very dark down here. The dripping of slime can be heard all around. There is a door on the north wall, and stairs behind you. You hear a strange noise coming from the wall beside you/

Obviously, you might want to move away from that wall. For all you know, it could be a giant knife that comes flying out at your spleen.

The last thing is your health. As all humans can only withstand a certain amount of abuse before they drop dead, this will apply to this game also.....NOT! The mad scientist forced you all to drink "Torture Potions" before he locked you away, so you can never die, but can feel pain (example: if the knife from above hit you, you would be stunned for a couple turns)

I think that's all for the rules.

It was a dark and stormy night. A far from normal mad scientist was working on a new flavour of ice cream that would revolutionize the world forever. However, as he was brewing it up, a huge rat knocked over a beaker of green liquid onto his head....thus, turning him into a maniac.

He ran around the room insanely, knocking everything off of the walls....until he looked out his window. He froze.

4 young people, named Darkdata, Cirvante, Axel, and fabio
(note: if there is another name you wish to use, tell me next turn) were out walking by. They looked up at the mansion, and stared for a few minutes. They did not notice what the mad scientist was doing in the window.

"HAHAHAHAHA" he roared. "Look at the little children. They will make excellent toys." With that, he pulled out a stange looking laser, and fired it at them, All 4 fell to the ground unconsious.

"ROFLMAO" the scientist ... acted out. "Perfect!" He dashed down to the bottom floor, stuffed all 4 into a giant sack, and dragged them back into the castle. He threw each one into an opposite corner tower, and then retreated to his room....the location unknown at the present time.

All 4 woke up, in a daze. Where were they?

"Welcome, welcome, to my lovely house. My name is S.N.N., short for Smith Norris Neanderthal. Don't be afraid too much - my house isn't like N.N.S's. His is loaded with death traps in every room ... mine is only littered with death traps OUTSIDE your rooms! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Now, I am quite bored today, so you 4 folks are now my idle playthings. Since I am in a good mood today, we will play a little game. The first person to escape the house will live. The other three will die in the most morbid ways possible. Knowing your pathetic human race, this will spark rage in all of your minds, and the need to kill off your companions. However, if you do not help each other, none of you will escape, and will be trapped in eternal torment forever."

"Inside each of your rooms is a survival kit. You have a:

-slice of moldy bread
-a poorly scrawled map

There is a table in the corner, and sitting on the table are three items - a moldy piece of bread, a scrawled map, and a vial of red liquid. You too, see something black and square under the table.

You wake up, and find yourself in a room. There is a door on the west wall. This room is covered in space themed wallpaper. It seems to glow eerily. There is a .....HOVERING TABLE .... in the corner, and sitting on it is a moldy piece of bread, a scrawled map, and a vial of red liquid. You too, see something black and square under the table.

You wake up, and find yourself in a room. There is a door on the east wall. Everything is made of grey coloured cement. A strange chanting can be heard beyond the east door. Anyway:

The wind whistles outside the mansion. You can tell it is going to be dark soon, and there are no lights that are in view. The voice booms again:

"So it looks like you have all taken all 3 items. Very good then. To make this game decent, I will explain the scrawled map to you. (map)

"The initials on the map show your current position. As you move, they move. You may currently notice that none of the rooms have anything in them. As you explore them, they will change colour, and become labelled. You may need to revisit some of them. Most doors are simply a hole in the wall on the map. Locked doors are shown with a black line crossing a wall. These require a castle key to unlock, but the only way you'll find these will be to mess around with my...ingenious inventions and traps. The red line crossing the wall also is a locked door - however, you need to find special keys to open these."

"The map is fairly straightforward. Only a complete idiot couldn't understand that.
