In keeping with my recent Earthbound kick, I often get the mix "Twoson Hits The Road" from Overclocked Remix stuck in my head. It's very catchy, and I don't mind humming it all the time as I work, either. Here's a link to it.

I also periodically get the area 1-1 theme to Super Mario Bros. 2 stuck in my head, as well as its Super Buck Jazz remix on Overclocked. I'll give a link to that too.

And then there's "Live and Learn", the music to the final battle of Sonic Adventure 2... That's always fun.

Sammy Nestico's "Pressure Cooker"...

Ice Cap Zone Act 1...

Chocobo theme from FF7... Man, that song's addictive.

The worst part is that I tend to whistle or hum these songs aloud to myself as I work, so I must look like a complete loser as I do... But hey, at least I work surrounded by video games. I suppose eventually someone will come in and be like "Hey, that's the theme to Super Mario Brothers 2!" and I'll be like "YEAH IT IS DUDE" and the rest will be history.

Oh, oh... I forgot about the Brinstar Theme from Metroid and Zero Mission. Get that stuck in there all the time.

Eesh, that's somewhat of a list... And I didn't even list the contemporary stuff that gets stuck.

Sig had to act fast. That axe was bad news, even for a golden shell like his!

Especially for a golden shell like his... it was a Ruper, who would want to get a Ruper messed up? He had to move fast.

Sig sprinted forward to counter Troy's rush and attempt to get in a clean first shot. With that kind of power behind him, there wouldn't be much room to move, and even then, he still knew that Troy would only be feeling him out. It was doubtless that Troy was trying anything too serious just yet. But if he could form weapons out of nothing like that, and all Sig had was his taijutsu...

'I might haveta work in summa me styles, 'ere', he thought, 'basic moves ain't gonna work on a guy like 'dis.'

As the onrushing Troy approached Sig, Sig went into a sliding tackle for Troy's legs, again withdrawing into his shell to hurl himself at his foe. Even if Troy wasn't in his shell, getting him on his back would still be a knockdown.

Grey: "Hm? Miss Jolene... Can we talk in private?"

He beckoned to her to come to a more secluded location with him, attempting desperately with all of his power to make sure that that news reporter didn't notice him trying to have a conversation with Jolene, of all people. The last thing he needed was a mindless paparazzo on his tail.

On another note, Gunstar Heroes is not a saturn game. Guardian Heroes is, though. Made by the same company. Incredibly awesome. My roommate has a Saturn. We play it. It is sweet, even if it has data values leaking out of its menus.

Gunstar and Guardian Heroes are the epitome of fast-paced, you-against-a-million-foes-in-a-colorful-and-hardware-intensive-environment asskicking action games.

Grey: ".....No."

He said this with resolve and a sort of eerie power that led him from behind his eyes, deep within his mind. Pure will spoke out as a faint, dark green glow began to surround him. It was barely noticeable, mind you; nothing more than a tinge in the air here and there. His eyes, however, had begun to change color. He strode off after Jolene, tired of the secrets, ambiguity, and general mystification that plagued the entirety of the Glitz Pit. He would stop her. And he would find out just who she really was, straight from her mouth.

I wouldn't mind requesting Eyes of Flame from anyone willing to give it up to me. It was one of Hiryuu's sims that I never actually got. In return, I got a lot of his stuff off 6.0 in the months before it went down and such.

Here's a listing: Hiryuu should be able to point out the better ones... And NeoMAX isn't his. I just accidentally saved it to the wrong folder.

In fact, a few of these aren't his, I'm just too lazy to move them. Whatever. I recommend Rama Gardens.

This is somewhat against the rules.

It is good practice to ask someone for assistance on a layout personally.

However, you should first attempt to educate yourself in making the layout, so as not to cause anything particularly horrendous to result. This is done by teaching yourself to manipulate PHP, HTML, or CSS.

This thread has been closed for violation of the board's standard of reason and logic.

The craziest thing I've ever seen? When I was about six or seven, I went to the zoo, and in the wildlife marsh, I saw one duck trying to have sex with another duck, and a third duck trying to stop him.

And yes. I rox. Lol.

Sig bounced and backflipped up from inside his shell, and emerged from it just in time to land a spinning kick to the side of the battleaxe, inhumanly targeted, that sent it off course with his skull. He continued spinning in the air, and came down to the ground, calmly sliding his foot along the tiles of the floor as he slowed to a stop, his hands in a martial artist's stance and his feet planted firmly on the floor.

His right hand was outstretched above and behind his head, with his left hand running parallel to his left leg, which had delivered the kick and cast itself outward in a perfectly straight line. With his right leg bent to allow for spacing, it was a peculiar position for a koopa as small as Sig to be in, but his eyes closed in a deep, zen-like state. It was time for him to show what he was made of.

Sig pushed off his right leg and straightened onto his left, bringing his left arm across his chest and whirling so that his left side was facing Troy. He wound up his right arm for a punch, but hesitated, and swung his right arm horizontally behind him, pushing away from the very air itself! Sig was sent into a turning rush at Troy that threatened with a hard punch that Sig carefully wound up a second time for. His aim became readily apparent; he would use the additional centrifugal force from his push to add power to his punch and attempt to hit Troy with such speed and strength that his body armor would be unable to react to it.

Sig: "Jagger Style: Improved Terrapunch!!!"

---------------

Grey: "Then I'll assume one that's a little more direct."

He looked around. It didn't seem like anyone was anywhere, so he figured now was the best time to confront her.

"I saw you in the juice bar. You're that strange lady that Dupree's obsessed with that sits in the corner all the time, huh? You come here, change your clothes, and assume your identity as the hard-nosed prolocutor of the Glitz Pit."

He strode further towards her and bent over so that he was at her height. He fingered the tassel of hair that draped down over Jolene's face lightly, and flipped it slightly as he let go of it.

"The hair tipped me off. But that's not important. What I wanna know isn't why you're exhibiting signs of Dissociative Identity Disorder, I'm sure you've got your own reasons for it, but who: Who's this Prince Mush guy, and why's he so important all of a sudden?"

He stood back up straight, and stared down at Jolene's mushroom cap, his position adamant.

"I'm not leaving until I get some answers. Send all the security you want; I can turn them away with a wink."

Grey: "Xyger..."

Was it just a lucky guess?

That was a name very few people knew. He'd have preferred to keep it that way, but if Jolene really knew who he was, it'd be in his best interests to leave at exactly that moment.

Information was the most powerful weapon anyone can utilize, after all. He turned on his heel, silent and full of fear. Each had questions that neither was willing to answer.

He strode solemnly back to the Locker Room, where he proceeded to inquire about his tab at the juice bar...

Grey: "Sure... I guess."

Grey looked downcast. He had wanted to go further into his investigation, but it almost felt like he was rendered nothing more than a harmless kitten by Jolene. Completely outclassed, he was.

He'd have to fix that, somehow.

"When's the fight?"

For now, though... He had to be willing to play along with her game for a little longer.

Grey: "Are you serious?"

Grey strode over to the Goomlmers and walked circles around them. How dare they mock him in such a half-assed way!

"This has got to be the most pathetic cosplay I've ever seen! And you guys call yourselves..."

Of course, he stopped himself before he said anything too revealing, but naturally nobody'd have a clue what he was talking about even if he did mention it. In any case...

"I mean, come on... I can see right through them! You'd fail at a con!"

He tapped the helmeted goomba on the head with his foot, leaning on the small-statured creature and resting himself on his knee.

"Look at this! This helmet is obviously made of nothing more than tin foil, and the shades are all the wrong size. You guys aren't even worth posting in /a/!"

He pointed at "Goomsky"'s pimp hat.

"Did your mom make that for you? And I suppose the feather is from a goose, eh? Where's your bag of holding? Thrown it into a portable hole, have you? What's that? You didn't want to make the universe explode? Too late, with costumes like these!"

It was clear that he was doing SOMETHING with all of these insults. He just hoped to whatever was out there that they didn't carry Sudden Guts Pills with them.

Grey: "Hey! Nobody abuses the lack of elemental supplication in a clearly unnatured arena and kicks Supa Dreamlander like that on my watch! Have at you!"

Grey whipped his hand out, and in a bright flash, the baseball bat appeared again, the chain at its hilt swishing as he brought it backwards and rushed at the pimphat Goomba. He swung the bat downward as he charged past the "magewarrior", attempting to pull a Happy Gilmore shot at its face and knock it flying. He panted a bit as he charged... Was that Super Punch still affecting his body that much?

So I made a pact with Kirbynite to never play a game on anything other than the hardest difficulty setting ever again.

I got Imperishable Night tonight. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a top-down shooter from a series of what are called "Curtain Shooters"; top-downs that specialize in intricate bullet patterns that you have to fly through in order to survive. If you don't, you're dead. The game Imperishable Night is, I believe, the most recent game in this particular series ("Touhou", which translates from Japanese into "The East").

Now, there are four difficulty settings. There's Easy, Normal, Hard, and Lunatic mode. Thinking I'd be able to at least get by maybe a level or two before I was able to get a royal buttwhooping from the game, I started on Lunatic mode.

I lasted six seconds before my first death.

I feel the best way to show just how terrifying this game is would be to link you all to this page, a Wikipedia entry showing an ingame screenshot. Find the ship (actually a little mage girl) and you get bonus points.

This is the one game thus far that is making me regret my decision. Have you ever considered trying something like this? Playing every game on Hardest mode is a very interesting experience, but it's also very tough and at times frustrating. On the bright side, I can kick my little sister's ass in Puyo Pop Fever now.

This is a bumpity bump bump.... I know you're new, but if you haven't seen people in this thread posting for a long time, it's really not a good idea to bump a story like this.

You're welcome to post here in the SF, but you should try posting your own original stories first, or perhaps joining another active story? Stories that have laid stagnant for more than a few months are usually not the best idea for posting. It's not hard to join someone else's active story, either. I'll close this, but I want you to know you're welcome in the SF anytime regardless.
