I'm with Link2006 on this I want to see at least "one" Fire Emblem game translated but the only ones I've seen the most being 25% doce and ignores for two years .

But personally I'd like to see Fire Emblem 6 translated the one that Roy stars in. To my beleif it was supposed to come to America but was canceled or something. I'd really like to know some more backstory on him than SSBM gives out.

Ok I'm officially stuck.

I've got the bombs (neat trick to get then btw) and super missiles. And I've just beat Karid and I'm ready to go into Norfair......One problem.

From what I understand you have to run for your life through Norfair cause the Varia Suit is much further through Norfair or at the end. Bu I only have two Energy Tanks. So from the elevator I can only A) Go to the left and barely make it to the map room or B) go to the right and barely make it through the ball room only to die in the next room.

Normally when faced with this problem I'd just go back a few worlds and look for some Energy Tanks. BUT!!! Apparently I cannot even do that because of the Rippers that obviosly need Ice Beam to get up to which is probly deeper in Norfair.

So seriosly some help would be appreciated.

Yep and I just found it a few minites after I posted I just forgot to get back on and mention it. But it doesn't help much. I still can't get to much further no matter how fast I go and I can't make it to the recharge room. I tried going through that ball area that looks suspiciosly like the same one in the Magmor Caverns from Metroid Prime so I'm guess there's an Energy tank at the end. but I can't time the bomb jumps without going overboard on the saveslots and then I still don't have enough energy.

EDIT --- Ok ignore what I said about not having enogh energy I compleatly missed those red bug things that I can refil on.

Edit2

I never thought I could be so happy as to finally get the Ice Beam...
Then I got the Varia Suit...
I swear my neibors could hear me chearing when I finally got the darn thing...
Drewseph...Quite simply...This...Hack...Is...GODLY!!!
This- This is amazing! Words can't describe it.
You're doing all this dening every rom hacking rule I know of.
You've changes damage, you've expanded relentlessly, you've moved everything around, you've changed the Physics! Hell why not hold back You've changed EVERYTHING!!!
This is better than anything Nintendo has pulled out. You could mix Metroid 1, 2, Super, Fusion, and Zero Mission and I'd still say this hack would be better.
You've not only of gotten rid of the "To-Do List" that the modern Metroid's have had but have so convniently hid things you'll never think to look there. You wierded out many people by having no reward for beating Karid while at the same time I found the Varia Suit by ACCIDENT.
Hell why not just out and say it. This hackhas gone far beyond the reaches of a Super Metroid hack. No. This could easily be known as Metroid Five. The only thing that could say that this isn't a Nintendo sequel is that it's to good for that.
You have out did yourself Drewseph. My compliments. This is amazing.

I've been looking all over this world for the Graple Beam or anything related and all I've found is a need for High Jump Boots and Speed Booster.

That little area that you get stuck in on the north-Eastern side or Norfair cause I can't find anything that has to do with the Graple Beam ANYWHERE!!!

So uh... Can soeone please help me?

Go back down to the corridor in the southern part where you did that bobmb-jumping thing and found the super-missile tank.

Drop some bombs around the floor. There sould be a spot with whiteish pillars with a super-missile block. Bomb it and the rest should be self explanitory.

There should be a small roll through pipe above it jump/shoot/jump-bomb (one of the three) around the left side to get through.

While running through Norfair in the room after the ball jumping part or the next you'll see those little red bugs that fly up in packs of 5 you can easily charge shot or Missile them to refill your health and continue on.

The only hint we're getting is that it seems to be somewhere in that area just under where you first enter the east side of Norair and hit the super-missile block.

Super Mario RPG

Liked the storyline and I loved the characters. (Geno rules)

And the fact that you got to play as Bowser and Peach was a nice added bonus.

You know a Podoboo ally isn't that hard to comprehen I mean you fought them a lot in Mario RPG and thy're not to far off from those fire glob...thinks (forgot the name) in the Paper Mario series.

(btw a Podoboo is the balls of fire that jump at you out of lava right?)

Ok that was just crazy Drewseph.

I've understood the placement for all of the items thus far making it so you have to get the item to leave the section you're in and using that item to get to the next area.

BUT!!!

Those Hi-Jump boots are nothing like the rest...

You left the ENTIRE world up for grabs in finding these boots and in the end having them hidden back in a small room you've been in alreadt with little to know knolegw to go back just dumb-luck?!?

I'm sorry bu thats pushing it just a little to far.

Maybe if you needed to use the Grapple Beam to get to that first room or something therefor giving the players reason to go back.

ok where do I go now and how do I do it?

I remembered the area I couldn't get to in Crateria after searching around Brinstar and Norfair for the Gravity Suit or a decent entrance to Maridia. (After what you pulled in Norfair I wouldn't be suprised that you'd make us go through Maridia partway without the Gravity Suit). But now I feel like I've gone to far for this to be a dead-end/come back later. So I've bombed/X-Rayed everything around here and All I've been able to do is get stopped at two areas (the parts I've circled).

Any idea how to get through this watery mess.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f225/Megaman-Omega/Other/Crateria.png

You know now that I think about it. Maridia was huge to begin with. And If you canmake every room 3-4 times bigger... Maridia's gotta be friken enormous!

After entering Brinstar a few rooms to the left in that corridor with all the wreakage. Doesn't it seem like there's a way to remove it? After that just find a place you can use your Speed Boost around in the room next to it.

Granted, but even IN the Mario universe, Podoboos can't do anything but jump out of lava and fall back in to lava.

Originally but if you look closely at the poodobos in Mario RPG you'll see that in Barrel Volcano the poodobos will jump out of lava a few times and then chase after you thus starting the fight scene. And being that Paper Mario is an RPG as well.........

Yeah I'm in the same area as Alex cept I made it through to the lost caverns.

...God I hate those kind of puzzles.

But don't get me wrong you've done what few "games" have made me do (not even hacks have done this) and made me go get a piece of paper to keep notes to try and figure out the way through that damn maze. So exelent work on that part.

You know thinking about it most of us have now only fought...maybe a third of the games bosses. We've fought the Torzo Statue, Spore Spawn, Crocomire, and Karid. Thats one gaurdian and most of the mini bosses. We still have yet to fight Botwoon, Phantoon, Draygoon, The Golden Torzo Statue, and Ridley. Which stands to question...Just how big is this game?

Where to begin?

Great job on the Lost Caverns (Thank you "SO" much Chibi Gatomon for posting that bit of directions for the Caverns if it wasn't for that... I'd probably still be at those caverns... With my fist through the screen ). I never did notice a change in the room design in all reality I made it out the last part of the maze through dumb-luck (Now that I think of it that's exactly how I got out of a game with a maze similar to that exept I got really mad and started randomly hitting the arrow keys then suddenly I was out. Heh go figure _¬)

Next up. I can't agree with the room design when fighting Phantoon I mean all you have to do is curl up in a ball and you can evade most of his attacks namely those little platforms that work as good shields. It just made the battle a little to easy in my opinion.

Third. I...Love...Maridia!
I was afrad that it was going to be another "search EVERYWHERE" thing like in Norfair but no this time it was a nice free explore waterworld type of level and I LOVE IT! It really catches the old spirit of Metroid making you get to explore freely around the whole world not knowing but still likeing whats new to find around every corner. (That and the fact that I found the map room after I looked around every corner ......I can't belive I missed it)

Fourth. I had a feeling plating through the game that the fct that pressing jump again while in mid-air made you start to summersault and I was right. GREAT JOB fixing the screwed up shabby controlls for the Space Jump. It now totally feels like a new Metroid game.

Last comment. This ones a bit of a gripe but...
I just recently found the Screw Attack (which was pretty easy to get considering its the most powerful weapon in the game but campared to the crap I had to go through to get some of the other items I'm not really complaining). But exactly why did you make it so it only works when you hold the dash button? We're you trying to lesen it's god-mode capabilitys or ... Now that I think about it. Trying to make it act like it did in Metroid Prime 2 Echos? Ah well it'll take some getting used to but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Still a great hack even getting this close to the end just one question...
Where the heck's the damned Spazer at? I've been going through Maridia and ready to go to Ridly's Hideout (nice way to hide the entrance to it btw) and I've only had the Ice and Wave beam. And I get the feeling I'm not getting Plasma Beam anytime soon...Anybody know where the friken Spazer is?

YES!!!

I did it! I finally beat the game! Probably not the first but I am the first to post it on this board.

Drewseph I know I've prased you a lot during the corse of this hack (and that's saying something cause I usually find something bad in a hack (which by the way while playing I only found 3 very small bugs)).

But this isn't empty praise you have gone beyond the levels of metroid. Hell you've gone beyond the levels of Rom Hacking itself! Example even my favorite rom hacks I was still able to beat them in one to three days max. This hack has made me play for two weeks playing it most nights and thinking about it during all of school. No side scrolling game has EVER done what this hack has.

The levels despite their sheer size ironicly don't get boring or tedious every part of the world is blended or focuses on a perticular tile-set that if it wern't for the music you wouldn't know you were still in the same world. Speaking of worlds you also managed to give each a particular theme to each. And I don't mean Plant World, Fire World, Water World ect. ect... No I mean Crateria and Brinstar had a sort of search theme to then, Norfair had a puzzle theme, Maridia had an exploration theme and Torinian..........I'll let you figure that one out for yourself .

As for difficulty... Well you we're treading on the fine line between normal and imposible which is what we strive for here. Like you've said before the people who get so lost and find it extrmely hard to find the items are the people without the desire to think for themselves and/or explore (which I'm not saying that that's a really bad thing being that I've asked for a bit of help here and there on this thread ^^;;. Although I will however stick to this and say that Torinian is complete overkill.

All in all this is one of the best-..... No... THE best rom hack I have ever played in my entire life. And I seriosly think that 1) More people should know about this and/or 2) you should think about somehow getting in touch with Nintendo with this thing becase I know of a few hacks that are better that the originals but this is better that the original and better than anything else they've put on the market today.

If there is something like this here nominate this guy for like "Rom-Hacker of the Year" or "Best Rom-Hack Ever" awards or something cause this is the best one here. Not only did you start off Super Metroid hacking with a bang but you have paved the road and probably inspired many to start Super Metroid Hacking. You are a god among Rom Hackers. Congradulations.

Also if anyone cares these are my stats at the end of the game.

time --- 15:33
items --- 63.5%
ending --- 3rd

Yes I also managed to free the little animal guys.

I have never had more of a "Run for your life" feeling in a Metroid game...Hell in any game.

Also thinking back I decided to try playing through again to find some more items and I just realized something. How come you didn't use the other 2 unused enemies? I heard somewhere that there's supposed to be 3 in total.
1 --- Those reflecto things you put in Norfair
2 --- Baby Crocomire?
3 --- Some enemy that expands when you hit it ntill it explodes.

I was hoping to see the last two.

Also (don't take this the wrong way cause I haven't been everywhere) Why didn't you use all the enemys like that rolly...thing that was right before Spring Ball in Super Metroid or those green...ball...red-tentecle things that we're in the original Maridia.

The hack is still great and one of the few that makes me want to play it again. I was just hoping the unused/rarely used enemy would get more of a spotlight.
