They should at the very least keep an article about rom hacking itself and some pages for the bigger hacks (and possibly translations involving a lot of hacking). I remember the whole deal with Star Ocean way back, that was kinda big . As for some random new guy filing for deletion, they should seriously just ignore him (same as they should ignore the guy trying to delete Family Guy stuff twice in a month with silly reasoning).

I see a certain Nintendo bias here, but I'll go for FF6 based on time spent on it. (It has been a while, so I can't really remember what I enjoyed the most out of those snes games).

Mind if I ask how you make one of those html list things ;P? Summing it up though, there's Japanese stuff (it has the same genres as eu/us stuff, but it is so different in some cases), Trance (and similar things), Goa (and things along those lines), Metal, whatever goes into games/anime I like. It's uh.. rather mixed.

Posted on 08-02-06 09:51 PM, in The (Official?) Acmlm's Board Reading List Link
I'd kinda like to say that reading isn't limited to books.. . I'm currently reading One Piece in Japanese, just because I like One Piece and because I can read it in Japanese. Now, reading manga in Japanese is so different from your average comic (imo) in that the usage of onomatopoetic words is so vast and certainly on every page and almost every koma (that'd be each "square"). It's kinda like reading anime really, with the sorta introductory scenes where a character/thing appears has this big ど~ん (Do~n) sound over their head (or behind them). If you listen in the anime you can actually here that sound in those kinds of scenes. I know there is some swoosh and whack and stuff in American/Whateverian comics, but Japanese takes it to such a whole vast new level.

To sum that up, I find both the usage of such expressions and Japanese in general very interesting. And if you can, you should (learn how to and then) read some stuff in Japanese, not just Japanese stuff translated. Still I can't help but feel some of them expressions sound like stuff kids have thought up though.

Hint for AOL: Cable/DSL is soooooo yesterday, Fiber is SO tomorrow. Fast = Good. (Now, if someone at AOL reads that, I hope they understand, because when dialup goes out of business they'll want to dominate REAL broadband ;P).

I think that was called Jump Super Stars the last time I checked.. but Super is so overdone in the US that they needed something bigger I guess. It has lots of cool characters, so it could be good, too bad they picked that system though (or I might've played it). I kinda want to try it just for One Piece and Naruto stuff being in there .

Well that wasn't very obvious, I actually had to right click the right fucking button of my playlist window for that correct menu to appear? In any case, I can't really be bothered to find some hosting for this stuff (now that Jesper doesn't come here any more ), but I'll make it a txt and try that quik-attach thingy. And ignore the last track, the stuff after Storm - Time to Burn is either not staying in the playlist or getting moved somewhere else. There was some sort of order in there back when it was only around 100 songs, now it's just loosely related to the kind of music. Funny/weird stuff on top, then some good stuff, then some FF stuff, then a whole bunch of anime stuff, then some different electronic music (basically not much instrumental things), then some metal I guess.. and trance.. and stuff. Yeah. It sorta follows that pattern.. usually.

I think that pretty much says it. Food tastes way different if you just add one little thing or do some stuff different with it. A person who claims everything tastes the same is a person I see buying nutrition pills (all-you-need-in-one) whenever they become available.

Speaking of bad music with bad lyrics, try Meshuggah. That's just random thrashing of instruments complemented by some silly guy screaming sick stuff so high you can't really make out what he's saying. And I'd even say I'm good or maybe even very good at hearing lyrics, but that stuff is just so bad it's hard to stand long enough to make the lyrics out (not that you'd want to know them in the first place).

Perhaps not. But you can justify file sharing. And it stands as clear as day that what the music industry is doing is but a desperate fight to hang on to what soon will be long lost. The internet will make music more interesting and more available (and cheaper!), for everyone's (except the record company CEO dudes) good. Fighting it is dumb.

And you're forgetting about the artists who are trying to make a living off their music. True they will still get money from other music-related sources, but you're still unfairly cutting into their margins.

Plus there are some solo artists who like being a one-man act and not going out on tour, and letting piracy run rampant would screw them all over.

Are you hired by them? Seriously, are you? Because no one with a little knowledge about that stuff would say such things. The music companies are screwing artists over, they are taking the big part of the money and they decide what should be allowed to be released. Selling music on the internet (lossless+mp3 so you have the real quality and a nice-size version) is what will let lesser known artists make some dough, and having free songs etc is a great way to let people try before they buy. Also, music is too expensive. Buying single songs (online) at a much lower cost is better since you can pick just the stuff you like.

"Omg but I like to have the cd :<", so uh, burn one. If (when) the online music industry hands it to the cd companies, artists will probably just release some collector's edition cds for the hardcore fans. Or something.

Although perpetual motion isn't something I believe in or really think is even necessary, I do believe in new fuel types. There's lots of stuff that can be done theoretically but isn't worth it at the moment. I'd like to see Fusion Reactors become reality and maybe even Cold Fusion (although that's more of a dream).

Swedish powerlines and stuff are better-than-crap and thus we don't lose power that often in thunder (as in, not even once this year I think, and we've had quite a lot of bad weather in August).
