It only has to be a surprise to the prisoner. The executioner knows when. And Sunday is not an option.

Hmm, I guess this warrants clarification. The day of the execution is supposed to be a surprise. Being told that he was going to be executed does not invalidate the surprise of when it happens.

They very certainly could do that. But as I said the method of execution is irrelevant. Using basic logic you can come to the conclusion that it is impossible for them to hold the execution as they claimed. But there is a slight flaw in this reasoning.

I know a lot about lucid dreaming. I even bought a book about it. I haven't had any luck with it though. I've never recalled a dream in my entire life. I have no empirical evidence that I dream at all. I'm sure I do, but i don't get to experience it.

Jagori's getting close. Actually, that's pretty much the answer so I guess I'll stop it here. But yes, you can do that regression to show that you can't possibly surprise someone about the day of the execution. Except that leads you to the conclusion that there can't be an execution. So when they do have one you are surprised, just for a different reason than you were looking for when you ruled out all the days.

Fear of double vowels isn't irrational. Double vowels killed my parents. Double vowels are an atrocity. Darn aardvarks.... and... oops.

There's an essay somewhere called "The Best Way to Kill a Zombie is with a Rocket Launcher." I wouldn't have thought that necessarily the best way but how can you argue with the internet?

There isn't an INC, long in the 65816 instruction set is there? And anyways INC $0DBF works and I've had all sorts of different code there that doesnt seem to work. Here's exactly what I've done:
At x4E6E I've added a JSL to a routine I wrote. As of now the routine does only this: INC $0DBF RTL In Snes9x the coin counter increments each time this routine is called. I'm not really sure what ZSNES/BSNES are doing... |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are right, but I want to know why they behave differently and how I can fix it. With any luck I'll figure it out on my own eventually.
I tried LDA, INC, STA from 7E with the same results. Works on Snes9x, not on ZSnes/BSnes. |

What Jagori posted was pretty much the original answer up to the point where he decided it was on Friday. When he says "You can use that same reasoning to eliminate the rest of the days" that is what I was referring to as a regression.
The only real difference between the answer I had and Jagori's is that it doesn't matter what day it's on because he isn't expecting it to happen at all. |

Yep, made sure of all of that. I tried the BRK. I put the BRK in the routine and nothing changed on ZSNES, but it executed the BRK on Snes9x if you hit X/Y. I put a break in the routine which I added the jump to (which is original SMW code) and on ZSNES... still nothing happened. Perhaps Snes9x and ZSNES handle controller input differently enough that different routines get called?

That looks incredible. Is there any chance of an English version?

I'm glad I have a T1. I don't know how big anyone's layout is, and I don't care! Other than my own,. I know how big that is, and don't want it to be too big.
I feel the need to type some more due to insufficient typos. Any minute now... There's no way that I could possibly type antidisestablishmentarianism corretcly. I guess that's good enough. |

Jack Daniel, founder of the famous Tennessee whiskey distillery, died of blood poisoning from a toe injury he received after kicking his safe in anger when he could not remember its combination code.
Have to watch out for those safes. Those things are lethal... |
