A sprite suggestion; Since there's a sprite that ends the level when all enemies are defeted, how about a sprite that blocks Mario's path (like a door) untill all enemies are gone. That could be real useful for my hack.

Here is some FLUDD gfx's i'm giving away from my ill fated Mario sunshine hack. It replaces the cape. No game differences or anything, just a gfx change for the cape if you're want something different in your hack.

This is a demo of my new project "Super Baby Mario World". It consists of 9 levels.

These are old pics. A lot of things have changed since then.

Known Gliches

At the castle and ghost house entrance when Mario gets off Yoshi,
he lands back on him due to me editing out the spin jump. He actually dosen't take Yoshi in the castle.
Just skip the entrance's and all will be well.

Also it might be a little hard to tell small baby Mario from big baby Mario. I'm working on that now.

Or you can just avoid using Yoshi altogether


Yoshi is a big part of this hack, so having no Yoshi because of this is not an option.

Thanks for the comments, icegoom. Your hack is going to blow mine out the water anyways. If you can give me a pic of the hole in the scenery in 1-7 I get right to fixing that. As for small and big Baby Mario, I was thinking of making a small ASM hack that when mario is small, it says DANGER in the status bar. I'll also address the Shy Guy and pipe situation. Thanks for the CONSTRUCTIVE and HELPFUL comments, icegoom, rather than slipping smart, useless comments. I thought that's what the appraval was for.........sigh. Anyways, I made some changes. Check it:



I changed the pipes so they look better upside down.



I belive this fixes the "holes" in the scenery. Tell me how it looks.
And yes, the colors are bright because I'm going for a Yoshi Island look. As the game develops, i'll start adding more and more Yoshi Island reference's like a better castle background similar to YI.

Anyway, the rips are great, I really like the ones from Yoshi Island DS or whatever it's called. I'm not sure what its called, or if its even the right name, but still nice work. I could really use those BG's in my hack......
I agree that we're all not artist, especially me, hell, I can barely rip. I say keep on riping if thats what you're good at. As fancy as a game may look, poor level design can screw up an entire hack.

I have the same problem in my hack. SMW music or the SMB 3 music patch just doesn't seem to fit my stages either (My treetops stage and my amusement park stages, for example). If only Solar Soundtrack was out now. Don't you hate it when new programs comes out months AFTHER your hack is finished and archived?


As for the levels themselves, thoguh, I see them as somewhat subpar. It's probably just me though - I have a dislike for slow-paced levels involving platform rides/limited movement with danger on all sides, etc.


I hate these stages too, but in this hack's case, they seem very possible to pass without unavoidable hits everywhere.

Try to ulitlize the flying Yoshi bonus stage(s)(there are two of them). Set Yoshi and some wings on the stage. then edit the the flying Yoshi stage to fit your bramble stage, very simliar to Squawk's part in Brambe Scramble.

Just an idea.

Anyways, this hack is turning out great. Keep up the good work.

What piqued my interest in this hack is Mario's "loosing a life" routine and mapping the fireball to only the X buttion, making the Y buttion free. If I can pull those out and put them in my hack...........

Is there any way to disable Mario's spin jump anamation? (the whole spining thing) and remap the spin gfx routine to an unused spot (Mario's hammer-bashing the castle cutsene GFX). I want to make the spin jump look like a ground pound.

Make sure your OV destination is set to the star and world your headed to and vice-versa. Like if I made a star Destination from Star World to the Overworld, Star World star would be:

Star World

Exit Index to use: 01 Star World
Destination Exit Index: 02 Overworld

Then change the Overworld Star to:

Exit Index to use: 02 Overworld
Destination Exit Index: 01 Star World

Then re-check the Star World star to see if the destination is correct.
Note: Always remember which Overworld destination your using, since there are multiple OV destinations. You don't want to use a destination for one star, and screw up the next since it's the same overworld destination.

I hope you understand at least a little of what i'm saying. I'm real shitty at explaning things clearly when it comes to Lunar Magic.
