I had to pull an all nighter in order to finish my portfolio for an art competition. I had already finished seven pieces and had one left ... I started the project at two in the morning and finished it at 6:00. The time leading up to that was spent on other homework and paperwork for the competition. I ended up being one of two people to pull it off, and it was certainly worth it for both of us.

It ended up being around 38 hours straight. But the previous two nights I had been running off of three hours only. It's interesting ... I was actually less tired than I was the day before. I was driving, too, which kind of freaked out some of my friends.

I'd have to thank Adult Swim and a soda for that.

Feedback baby c'mon c'mon.

Teddylot went almost unnoticed on ground zero of the busy city. The people bustled around him, always flowing to its singular, unpredictable beat. This central rhythm manifested itself through the lives they lived, the decisions they made, and the actions they took. Each character had his own story to tell and everyone could read it for it was written all over the city.
The teddy bear walked well below the city's eyeline, but made himself known through the boombox he lugged on his shoulder, which mimicked its own beat. Teddylot looked up towards one of the metropolis's clocktowers ... it was about time ...

Teddylot: About time FOR A HOTDOG, THAT IS!!!

Zap: Alright folks, take a look at this card. Please note that it is not marked and that I have never seen it before. This deck is valid and unaltered. Now ...

Nearby the genius known as Porter James shuffled the card he had demonstrated back into his deck and continued to mix them together. His long, shaggy hair nearly covered the boy's eyes, and his locks would have if he hadn't worn goggles to prop up his bangs. Between the goggles' strap and his head stood a set of lucky cards he always kept there for ... well, lucky purposes. After playing a few cardshark tricks to amuse his audience, he picked up the top six cards of the deck, slid them apart and picked a card at random.

Zap: Now, how many of you all think I've picked out the card I've just shown you? Well? ... Hmmm, looks like we have half-a-dozen Thomases in the audience today. Well, if you're certain, let's say we make a little wager ...

Twister strutted past the card dealer, chuckling ... He had heard the play time and time again, and it never ceased to amaze him how many saps he was able to fool with his game. Don't be surprised, though, the dealer was completly honest, but he was almost always right ... actually, Twister had never seen him miss a card. The african american ran a hand through the length of his dreadlocks, then shook his head violently with his dreads mimicking the motion. The boy was completely at home in this environment. The hustle, bustle, and action didn't suit his character all that well, but he admired and thrived on the theme the metropolis posessed. Of course, if the action got out of hand, he could always escape it all by visiting the city's only park. Not many of the city's inhabitants liked the park anyway, so it was an easy spot to relax in.

Teddylot: *drool* HOT DOG TIME!!! *chomp ... munch munch ...*

Teddylot: I see ... that would explain the scorch marks on the hull of the ship ...

Well, if we wanted to easily restart the level as Kyouji had proposed, I'd be the perfect target.

Also, I blame Kyouji for all of my misfortunes.

SUPER AWESOME BUMP.

Well, I'll be announcing how I did in the awards show whenever I find out ... which will be in a few days, but for now, I may entertain you all with my latest piece.

Of course, you may have already seen the sketch in "the super sketch thread."

But whatever, here it is.

The character itself is finished, but I have to figure how to finish the entire piece.

Right now, however, it's just a nifty character design.

Well, it had to be finished by tomorrow .... sooooooo, here it is.

Anyway, I couldn't think of what to put in the background, so I looked around for an old picture I could use. In truth, I'm actually waiting for the snow to melt away and the leaves to come back so I can go to the local skate park to take pictures.

More to come, I'm afraid.

EDIT: And my, my ... here it is.

Enjoy ... and of course, constructive criticism is wanted.

Teddylot: And that's what happened.

Salesman: Nice.

Girl: Oh my God, awesome!

That's right. Teddylot's very strange tale had drawn a crowd, but his entire bit of storytelling was interrupted when Grey sent him rocketing down the street. His fluffy body skidded across the cement pavement, twisting and churning in all sorts of strange directions. Luckily, the wall of a building stopped him.
After gradually peeling off of the steel, Teddylot flopped onto the ground and lay there, motionless.

Teddylot: ... crap ... gotta rearrange my fluff. I'm all lopsided now.

The teddy bear did just that. He pulled quite a grooming then finished his hot dog which he still held in his hand. Teddylot took a few steps, then tripped ... right in front of Nijote.

Teddylot: Oh snap! ... Ninja.

Nijote maybe have been fast, but Teddylot was right on her tail. Instead of fighting the crowd, he ran underneath it, so to speak. The bear was able to use his small size and agility to easily maneuver between the legs of bystanders, while still keeping a good eye.
Unfortunately, Teddylot was at the disadvantage. He may be able to catch up to Nijote, but tagging her would prove more difficult, especially since she was a ninja.

Teddylot jumped up from under the crowd and landed for a split second on a street table where a street cardshark was performing his latest tricks. The teddy grabbed a handful of cards from the trickster's deck and jumped back over the crowd to continue the chase.

Teddylot was right behind the ninja this time. All he needed to do was execute his sketch of a plan and he'd be in the clear again.

Teddylot: HEEEEEEEEERE'S TEDDY-AAH!!

One of the cards in Teddylot's hand exploded. He jumped up in the air and then skidded on one foot a few feet when yet another card blew up, then another, and another. The bear was sent jumping out of surprise in every direction, landing in weird poses and near losing his balance. It's a miracle he didn't. It's also a miracle that he was able to stay focused for long enough to toss the few remaining cards he held in Nijote's direction despite the fact that he was facing the opposite direction. After launching his last chance attack, the bear regained control of his jostled nerves and skidded to a stop.

And that was that ... Teddylot pocketed his hands and started walking back towards the central part of the city to do ... umm, whatever it is he does. Probably eat some pies or something. Fix clocks. The bear noticed something in his pocket that was starting to let out a little heat and a little smoke and paused to pull it out.

Teddylot: Hmm ... the ace of spades.

----------

Meanwhile ... Twister had made his way up to the tip top of the building Slur was lounging around. He kept forward towards the Navi, but didn't acknowledge her. Once he was right upon her, blocking her sun, the boy suddenly grabbed her shoulders and with a burst of energy threw her off of the side of the building, leaving her to fend for her falling self.

Twister took a seat in the empty lawnchair, tipped his cap over his face, and began to enjoy a nice slurpee.

Twister: Aaaah ... slurpsational.
