Actually, now that he mentions it, I do think I remember Shyguy saying there was something wrong... I thought it was in Officer's, but I just found a bunch of stuff dealing with him being depressed and having trouble with his mother (Was that ever resolved?)...
I still don't have any sympathy for the kid's header/footer. I know he's probably not stupid, but... it was still a stupid header/footer. Although, to be fair, I'd probably have used one like it at some point. Random characters are kinda fun... I also still believe that odds are he won't post. |

Unless the method catches on with a LOT of boards, it'll provide a decent amount of protection for a decent amount of time. I doubt many people who make them would bother to create a workaround purely for this board.
It does seem like a silly method to use, but... if it works, cool. |

I always liked the easytype graphics for him FAR better than the other one, although I would've liked to see an actual battle against his first form (you know, the one you use the crystal on). It looked cool.
I'm mainly disappointed that if you cheat to put Golbez in your party in the GBA one, it glitches even worse than the SNES one. |

There's a distinct difference in between making names and building hacks. They're both creative processes, but beyond that, they're very dissimilar. (Similar to, but far less significant, than the difference between theoretical physicists and painters. They're both creative, but asking one to be able to do the other just because they can do their own is rather silly.)
Add one more vote for Castles: Masterpiece Set. It's an awesome name. |

Originally posted by Cymoro I think the complaint was more on the subject than on his spelling/punctuation/grammar/etc. And on that note, I think he's FAR better than, say, Strangler... And on the subject of nuking the board to get rid of the idiots... How would it solve anything? There will invariably be unwanted elements, no matter the medium. Starting over whenever they appear solves nothing; a new batch will just crop up, even if the old one vanishes permanently. As far as I'm concerned, the only real solution is to try to live with them, and hope for the staff to solve any examples of unbearable idiocy, which they seem to be doing a pretty good job of. I know that there's SOMETHING you can do in that level, but I'm not sure what, so that you don't have to use a spring. When that requirement is met, there's a concrete block there that you stand on to go in the pipe and stuff.
I didn't know you could do that... Heh. You learn something new everyday. (edited by Skreename on 08-02-06 03:36 AM) |

Aside from the fact that there's no worthwhile evidence that it'd be at their house, it actually kinda makes sense. The guy made tons of money doing something that he then lost a lawsuit over, so the company is... acquiring the assets gained from it. Nevermind that they're doing it with shovels.

I don't consider the necessity for such regulations to be a good thing, but... Considering the gain versus the loss, I think it's probably worth it. Of course, that thing about people saying that they're helping fight terrorism by not bringing Sprite onto planes sounds rather... imbecilic. Seems something along the lines of "Hey, I'm helping by not doing something that would make no difference anyway!" |

Nonsense. Amateur, naive nonsense. How exactly is the whole "friction" thing avoided?
Sukasa: Things like that exist already. You can buy them at novelty stores. They're kind of amusing, but... Definitely not perpetual motion by any stretch. And not worth the money, either, unless you want to convince a bunch of kids that you've unlocked the mysteries of the universe (they don't have enough attention span to watch them wind down). |

It could be that there was a high risk of vandalism for the drink machines, or that the costs of maintaining them outweighed the benefits of having them. Either one would be a suitable reason to try to get rid of the drink machines.
As for school food... If you don't like it, bring your own. It's what I did all 12 years of my school life. And, on the note of the people behind you badmouthing the principal... It happens. There will always be people like that, so there's no use really worrying about it. |

I think it made about as much sense as could be requested for a thread such as this. Otherwise, I just have to say... the word is "boatswain", not "boson".
As for the whole "gas company destroying other energy source" idea... Wouldn't they be the first to jump on? Anything to make them seem generous would probably be considered a good business move, as well as the fact that the market would be almost untapped at that point. |

I think, above all else, the whole "major figure leaving imprint in food" idea is fundamentally flawed in that if whatever being was dumb enough to do that, a good 3/4 of the time the food would be eaten before the person noticed.
Also: Is it just me, or does the chocolate look remarkably like (if it was a humanoid shape) its intestines are sticking out? |

The problem with any given solution involving fixed magnets is that there will be a situation in which the amount of energy being returned will be (at best) that which is put in. Even if you split the magnets, the amount of energy will not be altered by the magnets--the contraption will merely come to a stop once friction (etc.) has eroded away the initial push. Basically, even if the north magnet repulses the rig one way, it's also repulsing the other part of it the other direction, leading to a net change of zero.
Basically, the idea you keep coming up with is a broken motor. Motors are set up in almost the same way, except that the outer (electro)magnets (or just coils of wire; magnetism and electricity are related that way) are constantly flipping polarity in order to keep it spinning. |
