I'm pretty much non-religious. I don't care how the world works for after I die, I consider that a concern for... well... after I die. I suppose that makes me a heathen. Oh well.

You're thinking of capability, not capacity, and they tend to be related. It's not like you're going to find a graphics card from the same time which suddenly leaps forward into being comparable to modern, for instance. A bit of an improvement may happen, yes, but you aren't going to get anything TOO spectacular.
(Well... it may be spectacular compared to what was there previously, particularly if hardware acceleration suddenly works for it, but it's not going to be too spectacular overall.) You never did answer... what are you trying to run? |

I think it depends on which language the person actually is capable of speaking with any proficiency. I wouldn't want them in English if it was just a really crappy translation. It would be nice to be able to read it, yes, but I'm not entirely convinced it would help if they speak it so terribly.
Of course, if they can do it, I'd prefer it to be in English. But that's just me being selfish. (More importantly, the word that belongs in your post is SHOULD, not SHALL. Shall implies that it WILL be that way.) |

That's pretty cool. Of course, I think the graphics are a tad bit scary. I can see how it would be traumatizing...
Still pretty cool to have done. |

We'll know one way or the other soon enough. Of course, it could be good or bad, depending on what you're rooting for.
If nothing else, STUFF WILL HAVE HAPPENED. Yay? |

It strikes me that it would be harder than you think... But I'm not sure. You have to take into account the actual path to get to the end of the level; you could try to figure the path out when the level is initially opened, but... still seems kinda hard to get it into terms for a computer to learn.
(Take Vanilla Secret 1 for instance. I can't think of any real way to make it so an AI player would be able to figure out how to get through that level AND the normal left-right levels without getting into something INCREDIBLY complex.) |

KP9000: Those were based somewhat on the stuff in Fusion, weren't they? They look a lot like it... Perhaps it's just the colors.
Megaman-Omega: Definitely looks nice |

Wow. That's... impressive. Wish I could pull something like that off in mini-golf.
(I agree with whoever all was suggesting that it was a combination of grass and wind and luck.) |

That would be why he suggested deriving your own version of it afterwards. I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to just shove the machine translated script back into it.
Of course, it would still be better to have someone who actually knows the language try to translate it. Depending how much there is, you could actually try to do a word-by-word one with a good Japanese-English dictionary, but that'd be INSANELY tedious. |

Well... The fact that Xk's there says something about it. I never said a LOT of stuff will have happened, did I?

I'm in both NSNick and Alastor's positions. Although, on oatmeal, I typically have the maple and brown sugar kind. Does this relate even slightly?

You have some rather insane telemarketers, then. Mine typically just kinda ask if I want a credit card (or a mortgage, one or the other), which takes all of not very long, after which I just have to take on a forceful "No. Not interested." Thankfully, I only have to deal with them up at school.

If nothing else, pulling a trick like that one would make any store interested in preowned games FAR less likely to order from them. And that's at least a halfway decent portion of the market... Which would be a bad idea on Sony's part. So... it does seem rather unlikely.
Of course, I still need to remind everyone of how bad an idea it would be, because I haven't made it clear enough yet. HORRIBLE. |

I just have to say... if people who did ALL of that still didn't get in, I don't feel so bad about having not gotten in myself. Not that I'd go, anyway... I rather value my AP credits, and MIT is INSANELY INSANELY expensive compared to where I'm going.

Sounds like he posted something and then deleted it. It doesn't update the last posted when you delete posts; I've actually done that myself, and my name still remained until someone else replied, which was quite a while.
In other words, it's happened before, don't worry about it too much. The reason the << is broken is because it's linking to the deleted post, which naturally doesn't exist. |
