Pauline must not be a very loving wife if she never stepped up and did anything about Peach kissing Mario whenever he saved her.

I never said anything about Pauline never trying to save him, I'm just saying that Peach's kissing Mario would have probably affected Pauline and Mario's relationship if she cared about him.

Yeah, there are a few problems, but as this is a basic hack like you said, I won't bother to point them out. It does look decent, and I would definitely like to play it when you finish it. Good work.

How do you write data to SRAM? Is it just a bunch of ram addresses at a different bank? Or is there some special method involved?

Your best bet is reducing the conrast, or lightening the darker parts. I see it's a smeared row of the top row of pixels from on of the textures, Nintendo used some shades of grey originally that varied slightly, and you used tan, brown, and some pinkish color (?) too.

For some people, it just comes as a natural talent, like Icegoom, and for some it just doesn't. Most people seem to find it easier to rip from some other game, usually from a game that it hasn't been done yet.

People make graphical changes ultimately for the reason that it makes your hack stand out apart from the original SMW.

Lunar Decompress is a DLL module that is used with programs, it contains data for compression formats of many different games, if anyone feels like making a program to hack SMW, like blocktool. (Im pretty sure Lunar Compress comes with BlockTool, but I'm not sure)

An IPS file is not a rom, and cannot ever run on an emulator. An IPS file contains the changes between the original and modified rom, so it's a legal way of distrbuting hacked roms. You must find a website that you can download roms from and download Super_Mario_World_(U)_[!].smc, then patch the IPS to the rom. You can then play the rom on the emulator.

If you weren't so lazy and you are what you say you are, then people wouldn't have to do everything for you. And I don't think they like it, either. I doubt you're even reading or comprehending this. Why not read everything that was posted on colors, and do it yourself? (I have doubts that he read or comprehended that, either)

I can see you're ripping from SML, and they look pretty good. You could use a few more enemies, and the outline in the last picture for some things is a little funky, but this hack shows promise. Good work.

Blackhole89 and I are amongst some of the (fairly) younger people on the board, relatively speaking. And sure I make some mistakes with my posts, but if a 16-yr old can behave properly, surely a 19-year old can? Apparantly not.

It overwrites regular sprite 85. Keep the extra bits set to zero when inserting it, because it isn't a true custom sprite.

In the rom addresses thread, you should find a value somewhere that's for what sprite comes out of a ? block. Just change it to 85. Also, leave any posts regarding this in there, since it's a little off-topic here now.

As for my 100th post...

I don't think it's something that just happens in SMW, because I tried for a while and couldn't get the results you got when hitting the bottom corner on the multi-coin block in Vanilla Secret 1, on an unmodified SMW rom.

This is probably native to this hack, and possibly others, except that not many people seem to use this block, so we may not know.
