Has anyone else gotten 1000% on Hard Max Lvl 1?

I've heard people complain about the game being too easy. They should try this. It's certainly not impossible, especially if you do it on a New Game+, but it's a challenge. Without the uber gear it's downright difficult. More fun than Richter or Sisters, for sure.

*Edit* and yes, this game's soundtrack sucked. Lots. I only liked 2 of the tracks in any way (The Simon record and the original Pyramid level theme.)

Actually, having the second character on screen during certain boss fights could be EXTREMELY useful. You can control the second character somewhat with the touch screen while hanging back with your main. Running out of MP doesn't kill you, and it regenerates. Your HP on the other hand...

Is it a new game + or a start from scratch?

If it's a + just equip Charlotte with the Magus ring and use her while moving Jonathan to the front with the touch screen... or wear Ancient Armor when using Jonathan.

If it's from scratch, it's a lot harder, but I was still able to get through the game. Grinding for certain item drops will be a must, and you can use the triple jump glitch to get Nebula and a few other things early.

Also, It was impossible for me to clear the quests on lvl cap 1 because I couldn't get my stats above 100 for those quests. So if you're doing it from scratch, I'd just not even try the Den of Evil... *shudder*

I couldn't do it.

I spent last Friday with my ex and we had a really good time. It was nice being comfortable with each other again... she was the closest friend I ever expect to have...

And it was good to be finally ok that we're not together anymore, and that she'll probably marry the guy she's dating now...

But if I were to spend that kind of time close to her, I'd ... meh
I will always love her and I couldn't make it work as friends if I saw her every day.

Are you sure neither of you still have any sort of feelings for the other? Because if your answer is no, I'd say don't go for it.

Posted on 01-11-07 09:27 AM, in House passed minimum wage increase (to $7.25) Link
Good thing? Really?

Nope.

Minumum wage goes up. In response, prices go up. They'll have to. Simple economics. Which evens out for the people who are making minumum wage, but is bad for the people who make above minimum, as thier wages will likely not increase so much. And very bad for people on salary, who will likely see NO increase in income.

Last place I worked? If they raised everyone's pay by that much and didn't charge more they'd be in the red. Problem is, if they raised prices much people would be pissed.
There's a lag between inflation and peoples' perceptions of how much things should cost.

So yeah... I disagree with raising minimum wage. And I've worked for it so I'm allowed to have that opinion =P

If you wanna make more than the current minimum wage you either do something that pays more or you work somewhere and do well and get raises.
You can pay for college, rent, bills, food, and cable internet on minimum wage or just above. If I can have a nasty Transformers habit and still make it, so can anyone else (who doesn't have kids...but people who have kids when they can't afford them are irresponsible anyway.)

*edit* spelling

I don't understand this kick for having all of your personal devices integrated.

Having anything else coupled with your phone just means less battery life used solely for the phone, which is bad.

and specialized devices can do thier jobs better than jacks of all trades. Plus, if you wanna let your little bro borrow your mp3 (or minidisc, I'll always love them) player when he borrows your lawn mower, you can do so because it's not also your phone.

And I damn sure wouldn't wanna play video games on my phone... or have my phone in my video game system like some people have suggested. Consider the potential downsides...

I disagree. Children that old shouldn't be SPECTACULARLY STUPID.

And a parent CAN'T keep an eye on the kids 24/7. Though...one hanging the other does seem like the sort of thing that could have been prevented even with a parent on the other side of the house...

Nope. They are not cells. They are a strand of nucleic acid (usually RNA) and a protein cap... and maybe a lipid bilayer. And "a virus" isn't a group of anything. It's one virus.
They cannot self-replicate, so are not organisms.

If it's not a living organism, it's not alive.

It may be a shit analysis. It was definately hastily thought out and typed.

But you can't tell me that if min wage goes up that prices won't also go up. Because that would be bullshit. My econ prof. wouldn't have laughed at that.

And if you're gonna blast my analysis, do so by discrediting my points, not just saying "wow, that's dumb." Otherwise you're not adding anything worthwhile to the thread.

I disagree, especially with such a large rise in the minimum wage. Rises in the minimum wage decrease on-the-job training, weakening the amount of skilled workers in the job market, simple fact. Also, it helps encourage hiring illegal workers at a wage lower than the minimum because an illegal won't be very apt to rat the company out or know the laws. Guess what? A minimum wage is supposed to help the people near poverty level; people like single-parent mothers working their asses off to stay alive. In all actuality, this has been studied and it is more likely that someone like a secondary wage earner in a multi-income earning household would get one of these new minimum wage jobs, like some random wife in a relatively wealthy household who wants a job. Hardly helping the impoverished. I see no point in it, at all, if it isn't significantly benefiting the people who need it most, those inner-city mothers and people in similar poverty-level situations. Also, economics people might remember that minimum wages are price floors in the labor market, which in principle, causes a surplus of labor offered by the people (unemployment, in other words). Eventually, the labor market is paying for less work, may it be less total hours offered or just plain less jobs kept.

Clinton, in a stroke of good thinking, gave states and even individual cities the ability to raise the minimum wage for themselves on a case-by-case basis. I think that was sufficient, this new law is both unnecessary and counterproductive.

I agree with you, sir.
Min wage here is $5.15 still. $2.10 per employee per hour is a HUGE increase. In order to keep costs down, businesses here that aren't hugely corporate are gonna cut manpower or quality or SOMETHING to even it out.
And yes, illegal immigrant workers are a big problem here in the South. Not so bad here in Louisiana as it is to the West... but worse than you might think. Any extra incentive to grab a few is a bad thing.

I'm for a high minimum wage because it makes it easier for the working class to lift itself out of it. It allows more upward social mobility and in cases of downward movements, people can get back up.

Upward social mobility at $7.25 an hour? I don't think so. Not unless you scrounge and then get lucky with investments. Skilled labor pays much more than that and still offers little opportunity for upward social mobility.

It is now illegal to smoke in any restaurant or other place that sells food in Louisiana. Woot.

Cigarettes smell and taste bad. Yuck.
I'll smoke the occasional clove or joint, but it's not sexy.

A girl smoking weed (as long as it's a very occasional thing, I'm against people being potheads) is okay.
A girl smoking a cig is a turn off for me.

Is it really so bad for someone to bump a thread that's on the front page in here even if it's older than sin?

I can understand that being lame in the other sections, but Femine's has so little traffic...
With threads asking for advice it's be stupid to bump, but when the topic is fairly general, bumping a thread that's in plain sight could be a way for newer people to put in thier 2 cents... without starting a new thread for no reason.

At least it's something new to read in here?

Surely they'll get some sort of settlement... almost all civil suits are settled out of court. It's just how corporations do things. It's usually considered a better alternative than paying attorney fees, court costs, and any potential losses if things don't go the defendant's way.

I think my environmental law prof said that 96% of all civil suits were settled out of court, but don't take that to the bank...
