I think I'll take a peek at this later... Though, if there was ever one thing I hated about the original SMB, it was the physics. When you jumped, you had a REALLY hard time turning in the opposite direction. Thus, if you accidentally overshot a platform, chance are, you were going to fall in the bottomless pit below you no matter what. The other thing that annoyed me was having to use those Red Springs to jump over water pools. Sometimes, I wouldn't make it, because those things ARE SO DANG HARD TO USE! Then, there was the water. Ugh. They should've just used bottomless pits where the water was instead. Seriously, why use water if you're just going to fall through it and not be able to swim in it? But still, I'll check it out.

Does Comcast High-Speed Internet count as Internet Explorer? (Also, what if our computer doesn't use a username? Do we just do Delete "Cookie: @www.smwcentral.net"?

Okay, I just deleted everything that was in the Temporary Internet Folder that said it was from www.smwcentral.net. I hope that doesn't prevent me from ever going to the website...

Edit: It still won't let me through. I still can't tell what's a cookie and what isn't, BECAUSE NOTHING LISTED SAYS IT'S A COOKIE. The little help file I have for the internet says a cookie is a text file a website creates, or something like that. BUT THERE ARE NO TEXT FILES THERE. Only HTML documents. Plus, when I don't select anything, "Delete" does nothing, so what do I do?

Edit2: Sigh... The only option I have is to delete all the cookies from the computer. The only problem is, what if my parents need those cookies? If I delete them, and they go to a website where the effects would be noticed, then... they'd ground me... Or at least yell at me. Should I do it or not? (Also, it may be off-topic, but I REALLY wish someone would hurry up and BAN THAT STUPID SPAMMER.)

Edit3: Darn it... I've ALREADY deleted all of SMW Central's cookies, BUT IT WON'T LET ME GO TO SMW CENTRAL. What do I do now?

Ugh, he's right. There's only one thing that can explain that- THE BOTTOM HAS RAISED PARTS! You know, a hill. Still, it DOES look wrong, so you might want to fix that...

I know they're at SMW Central, but see, that's the problem. I CAN'T GO TO SMW CENTRAL. I've tried deleting anything that SMW Central placed in my Temporary Internet Files folder, but that doesn't help (neither does the internet help file- It doesn't specifically tell what a cookie is). I have no clue what a cookie is, and Smallhacker's directions don't help, either, because there's no option for me to delete cookies from a specific website (It's either because I have Windows XP or because I don't technically use Internet Explorer- I use Comcast High-Speed Internet, and that means I DON'T CLICK ON INTERNET EXPLORER)... So, now that I actually WANT the blocks, I can't get them. Where else can I get the blocks?

I have a question! Did anyone notice what just happened (The Admins actually let someone spam almost all of the board! I was worried there for a minute!)? Well, now that the user has been banned, will he be counted into the ACS if he were to still be on it by tomorrow? (I'd find it unfair if his posts were counted, since that wouldn't make sense now that he's banned and since he spammed for all those posts...)

Thanks! I knew there would come a time when I'd want these, but I deleted them anyways (they were only taking up space at the time...). Thank you very much.

Edit: Okay, now I'm having trouble making these blocks work. I edited the gravity values in the .bin files, but... They still give the exact same gravity! What am I doing wrong? For gravity1.bin, I wanted Mario to jump higher, so I reduced all 3 values given (I didn't edit those that had a (?) beside them, so should I have done that?) by 3, thus giving me 03 for value 1, 00 for value 2, and 01 for value 3. Is that right?

Sorry. XD You have a point, though. I honestly thought this topic was only a few days old (as I had first seen it just about 2 or 3 days before I posted in it. XD). By the way, don't get mad at me for this, but what exactly does the phrase "knock on wood" mean?

This hack just reminded me exactly why I HATE SMB1. XD I like the music, but most of the time, I find myself running into enemies. Not fun at all. Toad seems REALLY fast (Too fast! ), but otherwise, fun. I didn't get very far (I lost the last of my lives in 1-3. That's how bad I am at SMB!), though...

It seems to have been a case of tunabot not being on at the time combined with no admins being on the board either. In either case, it was quickly caught, fixed, and tunabot turned back on.

And banned members are always excluded from the ACS.

That's why I was worried- There were no admins on the board, it seemed like no action was being taken against this spammer, and the spammer got all of the forums except Announcements, ROM Hacking, SMW Hacking (Good thing they're approval-only, huh?), and Femine's Corner (I don't count The Pit of Despair and Display Case because NO ONE can post or start topic in them, not even the Admins). Whew... Good thing it was stopped... Perhaps this little excursion will make the admins make almost all of the forums approval-only? I hope not...

Savestates? Hah! I haven't made a savestate in your hack yet, and let me tell you- I ABUSE THEM IN EVERY SINGLE HACK I PLAY! That is, I use them A LOT. And it's not that I'm not having fun with it, it's that I hate the physics. I just too used to being able to easily press the button to turn myself around and safely land on a platform I overshot. With SMB, I can't do that, because doing so only makes me slow down, and it takes quite a while before I'll actually go backwards, at which point, I've already lost a life.

Everytime I try to use BMF's Gravity-altering blocks, THEY DON'T WORK. I want Mario to jump higher on one block, but not TOO high, so I lowered the values of Gravity1.bin by 3 (in hex, of course). Well, I don't really know what to do with values of 01, because those come out to be an insane number when you subtract 3, so I'm at a loss. If I only change the values for jumping without holding the button, jumping w/ a button hold, and spin jumping, I still get no result. Exactly what should I subtract by 3 to get my desired effect? (I'd also ask for making jumps lower, but that'd be the exact same answer I'd get for jumping higher. )

Cookies are files created by websites to hold information that they can look up next time you visit; this board puts your user ID and password in a cookie, so when you come back it can grab the info from there instead of you typing it again and automatically log you in. Everything else is just copies of files that were on the website, so it can run faster by using those copies instead of downloading them again. If you delete them it'll just download new ones.

Deleting everything isn't recommended since you'll lose all your cookies and cached files, which means you'll have to re-login to sites, lose website-specific settings, etc, and your connection will slow down for a while since it has to actually download every file from the site instead of using cached files. However, deleting everything from SMW Central means these effects will only occurr on SMW Central, which your parents probably won't mind.

You might want to discuss changing browsers with them to something like lololol or Opera, as IE is a steaming load.

As if. My parents aren't just going to switch browsers just because I can't get on one little website. But just so you know, every cookie from SMW Central has been deleted, but it STILL won't let me view the website. The only way I can think of to fix it is to delete ALL the cookies on my computer, which I won't do without my parents' permission (and I don't want to ask them). Are there any other options (that don't involve getting another browser!!!)?

Okay, I can wait.

Oh yeah, yes, I DID use that .ips patch included with it. In fact, I did it MULTIPLE TIMES. No effect. XD It annoys me when people ask me those kinds of questions, though, because it makes me feel that people think I'm stupid (as in, not very smart). (Just wanted to let you know that. Sure, I usually miss the obvious answers, but I actually READ the readmes, so I KNOW what to do with whatever I have. If I don't have a readme, I'm left in the dark (like with all of KPhoenix's patches- He won't even include a readme to tell how to use a patch or what it even does or even how to actually work in in-game!).)

Posted on 12-21-06 11:28 AM, in ExAnimated Frames for the overworld? Link
Is it possible to have more animated tiles for the Overworld? The SMB3 Overworld tiles require a lot of animated frames, and.... Well, the water tiles wouldn't exactly look right if I try to place them where the SMW water was.... Then there's the fact that there's a whole lot more tiles that are supposed to be animated (way more than SMW used). Is there a way to get more animated frames?
