That's just my guess.

More tips:

-Use the Item Box Fix patch. Your Item Box GFX gets garbled up when you hit the dark block in Boo's first Haunt.
-Uhm... Why in the world did you have to use a seperate level number for after you find the Dark Question Block? You could've easily turned the
Spoiler (Item you get at end of Boo's First Haunt):P-Switch
into a
Spoiler (What I think the item should've been):Silver P-Switch
, and made the
Spoiler (What that item is for):Door that appears
be instead
Spoiler (What I think it should be):a block that turns into the next Map16 when a Silver P-Switch is hit, thus making it a Door, which would make it NOT be revealed by the first Blue P-Switch you find!
. I used spoilers so not to spoil the level for anyone else.

You mean it said "Bad Checksum" in ZSNES? If that's the case, just simply saving a level in LM will fix that. Hurray for that cool feature.

*turns into Santa Claus and touches nose* There, now that 72 hours have passed, your demo must be ready. DEMO PLEASE! Just kidding. I didn't have any complaints with the No Mario Blocks- I read your first post AND the readme, UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE. Oh, by the way, care to give us a tiny pic of what a "Luigi-Only Pipe" would look like? Are you going to release your YI ExGFX? I've been wanting to use YI stuff for a while.

Lespna, they were talking about the thing you called a "3-d barcode thing". It's ALWAYS been attached to SOMETHING, but in the pic of yours that shows it, IT'S JUST HANGING THERE IN THE SKY! O_o


Chaos Force, exactly how far are you in The Castle 2? I liked your first one, except for a part I reached during 2-Player mode involving using those dash blocks and jump blocks to cross a large lava pit. I NEVER got across because the Podoboos and Jump Blocks about halfway through destroyed my momentum, making me crash into another Podoboo or fall into the lava (and it never would let me Spin Jump off the Jump Blocks.... ). Oh well. Maybe you'll think ahead on that..._¬ Or not. It's looking fine for now. At least you're not doing that eerie forest AGAIN. It was a bit too spooky for my tastes.

...And why exactly isn't this good? Are you expecting a sudden decrease in activity come Christmas Day? If so, that's not bad. Why would people want to stop playing with their Christmas presents to come here? ...........I would. I'm not expecting much anyways, and besides... I might get a laptop with internet capabilities this year.... Or maybe not. I just need to wait SIX MORE DAYS!! So, is anyone else as excited as I am that Christmas is only a few days away? And the best part of it all is, THESE DAYS HAVE BEEN GOING BY VERY QUICKLY! YAY!!!!!

Cool. Why not copy Luigi's face onto a pipe to signify that it's a Luigi-only pipe? It could be Green, while a Mario-Only pipe could be Red with Mario's face on it!

As for progress on this one, I'm a little less than half way though. Yeah the wall jump idea in the last game was pretty cool but it was way to glitchy. I didn't use them in this game what so ever because of that, but you will find the jump blocks and boost blocks separate.

What wall jump? I never saw a wall jump... Seriously. I avoided the 2-Player section because I could never finish it. To beat "easy" mode, I HAD TO BEGIN AT THE START IN 1-PLAYER MODE! O_o

He's got a lot of cool ExGFX in his hack. Why WOULDN'T he lock his hack? Though, when you consider RLM, it makes it pointless. There are many people who'll abuse that program just to open a hack so they can get any GFX and ExGFX they want so they don't have to do it the old-fashioned way (which is the right way). If you ask me, that program should be taken off of SMWCentral, or at least put on a different link that's hidden or something (or maybe not even placed at all) so people can't use it for their own selfish desires to get some little pieces of data (That's all GFX and ExGFX are- Pieces of data.). Maybe I'll go mention that at SMWCentral...

Here's what I think:

USE BOTH PEPPERMINT AND SPEARMINT. ALSO ADD A WINTERGREEN, TOO. That's fun. (By the way, I have a World based around the idea of Peppermint called Peppermint Fields (or maybe I'll do "Plains" instead... Hmmm...). Though, the only "Peppermint" you'll find are in the form of Peppermint Blocks and the Peppermint Castle (And I don't mean a castle that has the same name as the world it's in, like most end-of-world castles. This one ISN'T an End-of-World castle at all.... Wait 'n' see! )... ) I don't like bubblegum one bit, though. (Not the palette, mind you.)

How in the world were you able to edit a ROM without a x200 byte header? LM ALWAYS gives an error if you try opening a ROM that doesn't have a x200 byte header! O_o Oh, and I can't seem to patch your hack. I delete x200 bytes from my ROM (because it's headered, like most should). That doesn't work. I try making the first x200 bytes all be 00. That also doesn't work. What else is there left to do?

Edit: Oh wait, you said the patch you made it from was headerless. Why not get a HEADERED ROM instead and make a patch for that, too? Some people use headered ROMs, you know.

Eh. Here's a simple update...

First off, new screens are coming SOON.

I just finished Silver Pipeline 1, so... Yay. I got SO sidetracked with my other ideas, I not only forgot to work on this level some more, but I also decided to go ahead and place one of the worlds I was working on RIGHT AFTER SILVER PIPELINE!!! What is it? Peppermint Fields! It'll feature Peppermint Blocks and even a Peppermint Castle hidden deviously somewhere in the level... And the best part is, YOU WON'T KNOW WHAT LEVEL IT'S IN UNTIL YOU FIND IT! But reaching it is worth the trouble... You'll gain something REALLY good there (And I might make it be revealed on the map if you can get through it and actually hit an exit... ), so try finding it!

Anyways, just so you know, yes, Dr. Wily WILL be in this hack... and he's the very first antagonist you find! In MOST worlds, you'll face off against some of Dr. Wily's menacing creations, especially in the Castles. The bosses of Castles will usually be some of his most powerful robots, like Fire Man and Gemini Man. And just so you know, that's not ruining the hack... BECAUSE I HAVEN'T TOLD YOU WHO THE FINAL BOSS IS!!! WAHAHA! Is Dr. Wily the final boss, or could it be someone else? Who knows?!

Okay, so... Silver Pipeline won't go like you'd expect. Once you reach Silver Pipeline 3, you'll find that you need to activate the Green Switch in order to continue, so you take a different exit, which leads to *gasp!* the Green Switch. Duh. Well, activating that allows you to get to another secret... What it is, I cannot say... But know this: Once you beat Silver Pipeline 1, don't think you're done with it forever. For once you leave, you'll find that... YOU'LL BE RIGHT BACK.

Now, a simple explanation of those "Peppermint Blocks". Well, they're just blue blocks with a red-and-white center (Peppermint- I'd say "Candy Cane", but when I think peppermint, I think red and white). Well, you only find them in Ice levels, so what do you think they are? They're Blocks that are destroyed by Fireballs, just so you know... You'll find them all over Peppermint Fields 1 and EVERYWHERE in Peppermint Castle (the one hidden in a certain level, not the one at the end of the World. ... Now, here's an update on the worlds!

World 1: Silver Pipeline
World 2: Peppermint Fields
World 3: ???
World 4: ???
World 5: ???
World 6: ???
World 7: ???
World 8: ???
World 9: Rainbow Road
World S: ???

10 Worlds so far, but wait! Aren't there only 7 Castles (not counting Bowser's Castle)? That's right, so what's at the end of World 8? Maybe a passage to Rainbow Road? Or a passage to the Special World? Or could it even be the final area? No, that can't be, because I previously stated that the final level might be in the Rainbow Road world... Hmmm.... (Think about it for a minute- You'll get it. )

Ugh... Screens soon. Especially of my very fun "Peppermint Secret". Heh heh heh...

Part 3 of Silver Pipeline 1. It's mainly you vs. Pipes and Piranha Plants. You must use these SMB3 Elevators to get across TWO large chasms and a Muncher pit. (Oh yeah, and I just found out that landing on one of those blocks causes all Message Blocks in the level to mysteriously VANISH. Oh well. I'll leave that block there anyways. I have nowhere else to put it because the main part of the level uses Venus Fire Traps, which use the Message Box GFX! ) The Message Box tells you what the block is and it also tells you that you just passed the midway point... See, to get the SMB3 Waterfalls, I needed to get rid of the Midway Point tiles. I did so, but to use Midway points now, I now have to use the custom block Invisible Midway Point. Passing into the pipe alcove containing that message box and SMB3 elevator makes you pass by 6 of these blocks (so you also pass it when you come out of that pipe. The midway point is set at a pipe, which leads right back to that alcove...).


OMG! Wily's left a message for Mario! Lesse... It says:

"Muahahaha! You'll never get this key, Mario! Give up now!
-Dr. Wily"

Onoez... Now how will mario trigger the secret exit? Maybe he doesn't at all?


"WHAT?! HOW DID MARIO BREAK INTO MY SECRET STORAGE FACILITY FOR THE KEY?! Grrr... Now he'll be able to reach me!!! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!" -Dr. Wily left that note for me... XD If you want to know how to get in there, you need to... *gets kidnapped by Dr. Wily*


Ahhh... It's Peppermint Secret! No, I didn't waste my time there.... By the way, the ground isn't slippery. I don't find that to be a good idea for outdoors. Does anyone have any good ExGFX I can use for my Peppermint Fields levels that is snow-covered ground? I think that'd look a lot better. Oh yeah, those blocks are my Peppermint Blocks! I give a free Fire Flower here, because you NEED it to get all the treasures. And don't think you can get them without any hassle from enemies... Muahaha... By the way, the time limit is only 100 seconds. Because of this (and because there's no exit), this level can be exited from the sides whenever you wish. Just take what you want and go!


GASP! It's Peppermint Castle!!! What level could it be hiding in??? Note/b] This level is still under construction, so there's really nothing here. ...Yet....

A few things:

1: The voices were too much. I can live WITHOUT that, okay? I just... can't stand it.
2: TEACH US HOW TO DO WHAT YOU DID!!!!
3: Nice ExGFX. I was amazed when I say Green Hill Zone and Labyrinth Zone. Oh yeah, and Scrap Brain Zone.
4: Nice one with Peach. "YOU LEFT ME ALL ALONE IN THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM, MARIO!! NOW YOU SHALL PAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!!" That's what's going through my mind when Mario gets dropped down the pit (and it looks like Peach did it!)...
5: ...DARK MATTER. Man, I LOVED that boss! Too bad the creators of Kirby DECIDED TO GET RID OF HIM ONCE AND FOR ALL IN KIRBY 64.

Oh well. Nice. I can't wait to play the finished product.

I agree with JJ. The thing is, SMB3 wasn't linear AT ALL. Each world had multiple paths you could take to reach the End-of-World castle, except World 8. That was the ONLY linear world. So, now you have no excuse to make your overworld perfectly linear.

By the way, if you ever complete the SMB3 overworld tiles, would you mind sharing them with me? (Without elevation, of course.) I've been wanting those for who-knows-how-long!

I agree. While most of your TILE palettes are OUTSTANDING, you seem to have a different color for Samus' Power Suit for each area. I'd suggest NOT changing Samus' colors, okay? Well, not MUCH... Since grabbing the Varia puts those cool Spheres on Samus' shoulders, you could easily make the Varia Suit's colors be exactly the same as the Power suit's colors (like in Metroid Prime). Unfortunately, you went too far and changed ALL suit colors- Don't do that. See what you did to poor Samus?
