On a legal plane, marijuana will be smoked FOREVER, as we know it, so really, making it illegal is just dumb.

Jack White, Brendan Benson, and two guys from The Greenhornes. Singles at www.theraconteurs.com (Steady, As She Goes, and Store Bought Bones).

They played their first show at Lollapalooza, and I hear it was great (though am unable to find any bootlegs of the show). The album (Broken Boy Soldiers) comes out in May. Who's psyched?

Dani California, and a great music video. The best part is where it parodies Cobain at Unplugged.

The new album, titled Stadium Arcadium, is going to have two discs, Jupiter and Mars, with completely different track listings.

The logic wasn't faulty in this context at all. Which is easier to punish (legally) and catch; murdering someone or smoking pot? You can't even begin to discourage smoking pot for the most part, but you can with murder, because not too many people get away with murder.

There will be a point when you think you absolutely CAN NOT do it, but if you can get through that, it's pretty smooth sailing for the next few years, until your ready to learn pinch harmonics and taps and improv and crap that I'm just now mastering.

I've been playing for a year and a half, and mastering pinch harmonics took weeks. It's really not that hard. I practice a lot (three to four hours a day) on electric and acoustic, so maybe that's it. I could do a lot soloing after about three months. The biggest part of soloing, I think, is knowing a pentatonic/blues scale, and having strong fingers for bends.

You will improve faster if you practice more, obviously. Most popular music isn't hard to play, either.

It makes no statement as to how good or bad pot is, or the other acts, or how it can be punished. It merely suggests that the fact that people will do it means that we should let them. Now, elaborating further on it changes things a bit...but from what you said there, it's extremely faulty logic.

Like I said, not in this context. Plus, the fact that so much money is wasted on something that they'll never stop, as opposed to something they should stop.

Yeah.

I don't really care, it should be up to the mother. There's a moral obligation to stop killing of babies, if you consider that killing (I don't), but there's also a moral obligation to leave this a reasonable country.

That's actually one of the monster sweeps I was talking about but you can see the general idea.

Oh, duh. I knew that. Sweep, not alternate, duur. But I see what you mean. Thanks for tabbing out that arpeggio, I would've asked you to anyway. I tried playing that with a metronome and clocked at around 120BPM. ;( So I'll need a lot of practice on that.

Sweep picking isn't hard on its own, but when you have arpeggios with a bunch of slides or hammer downs/pull offs on one line, it gets pretty difficult.

As for alternate vs. economy, I just do whatever's natural. My fingers take control.

It's amusing, especially when they are showing off their skill and then I get to be the asshole who yells out "Show us a simple A minor chord!!". Fun stuff.

What are you saying? I can finger and bar C-form, D-form, A-form, and E-form major and minor chords all up the fret (not to mention sus's, 7's, 9's, add9's, maj7's, etc). You sound a bit bitter. ;D

There's a time and a place for fingerpicking. Neil Young, probably the biggest folk artist besides maybe Dylan, uses a pick most of the time.

What really rocks is if you can hold a pick while fingerpicking, then later in the song, use the pick to get a really loud, full chord, whalloping (sp) sound. I think Jack White does that in Jolene.

You're proof of this.

There's thousands of people who believe that there's no "gay gene", and thousands who do. Just because one uneducated professor (who by your logic couldn't believe he was gay anyway) said so, doesn't mean it's true.

Also, you haven't even seen Brokeback Mountain. Jesus christ, you're an ignorant clown.

The old testament proves that God loved everyone enough to kill everyone except Noah and a few others.

In short, don't take it word for word. Take it as a huge metaphor for how the world can be better.

And you claim you don't need to see "anything about homosexuality", when you're the one starting arguments about it? How do you know what it is? Are you fucking insane? You don't have any credibility now. Like I said, go away. You're too judgemental for your own two-inch penis good.

Skyon, let me get this straight. You CAN NOT AT ALL BE CHRISTIAN if you swear? You do understand that the bible was not written in English, and swearing is a man made sin, and not really a big deal in Europe?

Next thing you know, you'll say "You can't be christian if you have long hair". Like Jesus.

edit: And to remain relevant, Real ID as this is called was tagged onto some bill to give the troops more money. These guys need proper body armor and such, so I'm glad it passed, but the Real ID thing is just dumb.
