Firstly, your body will never grow an immunity to E.Coli. Thats a given. Hell, you produce the shit on a daily basis.

Secondly, you only have to boil your vegetables (Or any infected food) before eating them to eliminate any trace of the bacteria. They do not produce spores once incubated. That means it is not contagious unless you have direct contact with the bacteria itself, either through absorption, inhalation (If it becomes airborne) or ingestion.

The comment that some people are able to resist it better is also bullshit. Everyone can get the common cold or influenza. Why should E.Coli be any different? The fact that older people got it means they're more susceptible to it than other people, but that doesn't make other people immune.
