I've noticed that on some computers, if they are muted, any system notice/error would make the internal speaker beep. Try unmuting it and turning the volume down instead.

Yes, I'm in Italy. Skiing. Since I got Internet access for a short while, I thought that I would just say hello. The weather is awesome most of the time, but it's been a little foggy today. I'm still teh awesome at skiing and now I'm also quite good with a snowboard.
I don't really know what more there is to say... umm... I haven't got the flu like last year, so I'm happy with that. Eh... I gotta go now... I hope you are all healthy too. |

Ok, I need some help with this. My SNES is the PAL version
I raised pin 4 of the lockout chip. Now I want to connect the pin to a switch that switches between key and lock mode. Just a switch that switches between +5V and ground (0V)? And where can I find sources for those on the SNES board? Then I raised pin 24 on PPU1 and pin 30 on PPU2. I need to know what to do with these. I believe they work kinda like the lockout chip. Supplied with +5V it runs PAL mode and if connected to 0V, NTSC. Not sure tho. I have not soldered anything yet, just raised the pins. Edit: Nevermind you guys, I think I figured it out. Yeah, it took me several hours just to open it. Ugh. What I'm trying to accomplish is to make my SNES run USA and JAP games without an adapter and be able to switch between 50 Hz and 60 Hz mode. Everything is quite simple, but the pins of the chips are very small which means high danger for damaging the system.
I also made the console case so that I can put USA games into it. Took a bit of sawing and cutting, but it doesn't look that bad. I'll post screenshots when I'm done. |

European. Are they different?
Anyways... I seem to have a problem finishing it. I need some components... and our local store is closed 'till April... Update: It actually runs just fine at the moment. The picture starts in 50 Hz mode, goes blank after 3 seconds, then 6 seconds later, it reappears in 60 Hz mode. 2 of my games detects the wrong frequency which means they won't run... I really need to make that switch. Ah, what the heck. Here's some shots: The first and the second are pictures of the hole fixed so that you can put american games into it. The third was after just raising pin 4 of the lockout chip. For how long did you wait before you decided that the computer was frozen? Because I've installed Windows 98 where I had to wait 5 or even 10 minutes before the setup started.

Yes, well, I tried with another one first, but I'm pretty sure the cartridge won't be damaged. My plan is adding the lockout switch, and a switch to change between 60 and 50 hz mode. Currently, with pin 24 raised on PPU1 and pin 30 raised on PPU2 it runs 60 hz instead of the european standart 50 hz. And since I haven't made the switch yet, I can't play my PAL DKC1, DKC3 and SMAS+SMW. Well, DKC3 and SMAS look for it before the processors actually find out that they aren't getting +5V, so they run. But if I then press reset, they start bitchin'. Pay? Who would want to pay for it anyway? I mean, there are so many other options like AIM and Yahoo! IM and ICQ and now also Google Talk which are all free. So why pay?
Edit: Don't believe what you hear in chain letters. (edited by Boom.dk on 02-24-06 05:04 PM) |

Cat: Well, you can sort demos from full hacks by clicking the "D". Demos are marked with a flower.
Luigi: Yes. Very yes. |

Lovely.
Question: Should we also count downloads for hacks that hasn't been "approved" yet? And if so, should the counter be transferred or reset when (if) approved? (edited by Boom.dk on 02-25-06 07:03 AM) |

I didn't know there was any at all.
As for the modding for money thing... I don't think it will happen. I'll finish my own and we'll see. |

Easy, you guys!
Custom blocks are up next, and yes, you will be able to submit them. When I'm done with that section, I will probably make a section with documentations and tutorials. After that, well, I plan an ExGFX section. Ability to submit new offsets too. And eventually a RAM map. And you will be able to submit in nearly every section. |
