As for the game Leo mentioned, it's a graphic hack of Hammerin' Harry, which was released in Japan and Europe, but not USA.

(I've been sick the last few weeks, which isn't really a good thing when you're trying to make quality posts. My entire internet activity level has been pretty bad recently due to this, as have my posting quality. I'll try to stick to this story and see how it goes.)

Clarence: Well, it has scanners and thrusters, obviously. No ship can be without things like that nowadays. I have to disappoint you when it comes to the arsenal, though. This is a ship built for space exploration, and doesn't have any for of offensive equipment. I guess you could remove some unwanted equipment, like the mineral probe, and install a weapon in it's place, but it would take some time, and you would have to provide the weapons, which must be designed to fit where the unwanted equipment used to be... we're talking weeks of modification here, and as far as I understood, this crisis you're trying to prevent is imminent.

I usually have Microwave-stuff when I have to "cook" for myself. Things that are supposd to be hot (IE pizza) rarely taste good when it isn't hot, and I'm too lazy to prepare any dish that requires me to do more than putting it in the microwave and pressing a button.
Yes, that includes boiling water for instant noodles/soup/whatnot. God, I'm lazy.

The english version has really, really, REALLY shitty voice acting, and the GBA port has been reported as being annoyingly slow. Add in the fact that I'm not particulary fond of the new graphics, and I believe I have enough reasons to stick to my translated SNES rom.

The PSX version of ToP is currently being fan translated as well, and it has all the new features the GBA version has, plus some more.

Your rom is bugged. Download a new one. The J2E Anniversary translation should do the trick.

I'd also advise you to delete the URL to the rom site you mentioned. Linking to roms is against the rules.

(Yeah, I know it's been a while since anyone replied here, but I'm staff, so I can bend rules a bit if I want. Besides, I didn't notice this thread until now.)

I don't know if you'll check your newbie thread again after this many days have passed, but I felt I had to welcome you back anyway, Eph. It's really awesome with all these oldbies returning nowadays.

Now someone just have to get Dani to return, and we have the entire classic SF crew .

Wow, all these oldbies being gone for years, and then deciding to return at the exact same time... it's kinda scary. Who's next, Shroomy?

Return to Kroz, I believe. It went under the alternate title "Shrine of Kroz".

There are 7 or so Kroz games, so if it doesn't look too familiar, you might've played one of the other games in the series (though I have no idea why someone would refer to any of the other games as "Shrine")

The Kroz games are considered abandonware, and can be downloaded at a number of sites. Shouldn't be hard to find one via google.

At least watch the intro movie though. Priceless quote right there.

"I CAN'T WAIT TO BOMB SOME DODONGOS!!!!"

Wizard dude: You... KILLED me!
Zelda: Good.

There, that's the best quote in the game.

Seriously, though, Wand of Gamelon isn't that bad. It's not GOOD, but I could think of plenty of worse hack'n slash platformers. Wand of Gamelon had pretty good graphics for it's time, a fair amount of stages, and a huge arsenal of weapons and equipment. People just need to look past the crappy movies and awful voice acting, there's a pretty playable game underneath.

As for crappy games, a NES platformer never being released outside Japan usually means that it's crap.

Classic consoles like the 2600 and Colecovision also have their share of trash. Due to the simplicity of games back then, games were usually either awesome or awful.
I dare you to play Laser Blast for more than 10 minutes without dying of boredom.
I think my vote for worst game ever made goes to that game. It being made by Activision just makes things worse, as Activision were known to produce games of extremely high quality at the time (They even made the best 2600 game of all time, Stampede).

I don't really know anything about this stuff, but if the PRG-RAM is what FDS games uses for saving, then SMB2 used it. It saves the number of times you've beaten the game.

(Hm, I hope I didn't kill this story with my 10 day absence.)

Adamant: Eh, I don't know. This isn't really something that concerns me directly, and Maijin said Evil SomerZ is under his directive, so I guess he wants to go.
Maijin: No. You're going.
Adamant: But you said...
Maijin: I said my mission is to keep an eye on you guys. Now look, you guys are not really normal human beings, and are considered a potential threat. Normally, you'd be held in government facilities, for the safety of both yourselves and others. However, since you happen to live in a micronation only a handful of people know exists, and it's in their own best interest to keep to themselves, you are allowed to stay here and do pretty much whatever you want to, as long as it is not of destructive nature. To make sure you all act like good little kids, an agent is to live with you, and keep an eye on your actions, while enjoying himself and getting paid for doing practically nothing. That's me, by the way.
Adamant: Right. And this has what to do with you not going?
Maijin: Simple. While I'm sorta-kinda responsible for preventing Evil SomerZ from causing trouble, this is all technically about him stealing your spaceship and you going after him to take it back. That hardly counts as you breaking the law, especially not since the government has arranged a top secret ship to help you fulfill your mission. My job is to keep what is considered the non-humans of Floatia from breaking the agreement you have with the government, which you guys really can't do up in space, and I can do better by actually staying on Earth.
Adamant: That's the worst cop-out I've heard in my life.
Maijin: I've heard worse. Mostly from Lord Zort. Okay, how about this? I have contacts and resources. I have access to data considered far more secret than the intricate details of of the very craft you're sitting in. I'm able to locate that ship of yours, but unless you get the hell off Earth right now, you won't be able to reach it in time.
Adamant: That doesn't really explain why I can't stay behind while the others go.

Suddenly, Maijin slaps the mage.

Maijin: Adamant. Are you really that afraid of going? Does Evil SomerZ scare you that much? Evil SomerZ, an opponent you've fought multiple times before? I may be a good fighter, but you, with your magic, have the potential to be so much more. You are far stronger than most normal humans, you can beat almost every single one of them in a simple one-on-one fight. Evil SomerZ is planning something rather huge, or he wouldn't have stolen YOUR craft. You have the power to make a difference in the upcoming battle. Don't you think you owe it to whomever his plan will affect to at least TRY? Don't you owe it to Floatia? Don't you owe it to your friends, who are putting their lives at stake, while your wish is to stay here, doing as little as possible? You have recieved a gift, Adamant! A man who is as powerful as you should at least ATTEMPT to give a damn when his friends are ready to sacrifice their lives attempting to stop this unrevealed plan of a powerful super villain from bearing fruit! I've just about had it with your selfish, arrogant slacker behavior! You used to be an idealistic hero who... DID things! Who made a difference! Nowadays, you never care about anything unless you are personally involved in whatever's going on. Unless Floatia is threatened, or one of your old enemies who still bear a grudge is attempting some grand scheme somewhere! You've been reduced to a shadow of your former self, and I do not want to watch this anymore! Get in that spaceship now! It's your fucking responsibility, and if you don't, I'll charge you for disrespecting authority and have you transferred to an actual facility!

Adamant gets up, climbs into the spaceship, fastens the seatbelt, and closes his eyes, without saying a word.

(Hm, making up random stuff as you go when you're really ready for bed produces some interesting results.)

Impossible Mision for the 7800 wins this category without contest. The american version of the game, due to a bug, has a lot of keycards placed where you can't get them, making the mission... well, impossible.

I fail to see how anyone can write a list of the worst NES games and NOT include Action 52, unless they're only including licensed games. Seanbaby kinda does this, but he makes an exception for Bible Adventures, which blows Action 52 out of the water. I mean, all the games on Bible Adventures actually works!

Haven't tried it, but all the other staged battles in that game makes the game proceed the exact same way no matter whether you win or lose. The most annoying one is Paladin Cecil VS Dark Knight Cecil on Mount Ordeals, where you are supposed to not enter any commands to "win" the battle, but due to your opponent's relatively low HP (4000 or so, I think) and strength, it's not hard at all to win by simply attacking. In fact, that was how I beat him the first time I played the game.

Only two of them absolutely refused to work, but a lot of them tended to glitch once you had passed a certain point, and pretty much all of them threw you back to stage 1 after you beat 3 or 4 stages. And of course, the vast majority of them were incredibly dull shooters and platformers with only one or two enemies, and extremely similiar stages, all of which look like they were designed in 5 minutes (half the platformers consist of nothing but long hallways with some pits here and there)

I prefer dark beer when I'm just drinking, but lighter beer tends to go better with food. I'm not much of a Guiness fan, however, and there's so many better beers out there people tend to be unaware of.

As for other beverages, I like cider and liqueur. Harder liquor tend to focus more on being strong than actually tasting good, and apart from the traditional glass of aquavite at Christmas Eve, I rarely drink anything strong which isn't a mixed drink.
As for mixed drinks, it's usually vodka mixed with juice or soda. I've tried some others, but I'll be damned if I can remember their names, and vodka with orange juice beats them all anyway.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of wine, but I do like a glass of white when I'm having cheese.
