This is probably old news, but its the first I've heard of it. Basically its a movie about what happened on that fourth plane that crashed in Pennsylvania.

I figured they would start coming out with September 11th movies eventually, just not this soon.

On the one hand it would be nice if it turned out to be a good film that honors the victims, without sensationalizing it. But on the other hand I'm afraid they just may be exploiting the story for a box office/awards "sure thing".

Not really. Have you tried changing your port forwarding options on it? Its likely that's the problem.

One of these links will probably take you to your router's config page:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
Link 4

If none of those work you'll have check your router's manual for the right address.

Once you get into the config there should be an option under "access" or "firewall" called DMZ (you may need to check your manual for this, too). Double click your network status icon in you icon tray and go to the support tab. Then copy the number listed as your IP address into the DMZ setting on your router config. Hit save or submit, and restart you Bittorrent program, and see if it works right now. If it does it means the problem was port forwarding, and you'll need to set up port forwarding for the specific ports that program uses (DMZ forwards all incoming connectings).

Topics like abortion, religion, and politics (and one of the many combinations), are good for heated debates, but how about a break with a topic that doesn't get people too riled up, but can still be very interesting.

First cryptozoology:

Do you believe in bigfoot? Nessy? chupacabra? yeti?

What about aliens?

Do you beleve there's life on other planets? Intelligent life? What about UFOs? Alien abductions?

I think you get the idea.

I'm not saying it's too soon, I just didn't expect it this soon.

Did the families agree to just the concept of a film or the final product? I'm not saying it's nessicarily a bad thing, I just hope they don't try to sensationalize it by turning it into some kind of action/thriller. Or worse, not put much effort into it at all, because they figure its a sure thing either way just because of the subject.

I'm a bit more open minded on the concepts related to cryptozoology then UFO's and aliens.

The trouble with cryptozoology though is that anyone who becomes a cryptozoologist tends to already believe in these unconfirmed species, so they set out specifically to prove their existance. While any expedition done by a traditional zoologist almost always have the purpose of debunking the possiblity of their existance. Either way, any study where a particualar outcome is specifically sought tends to create skewed results.

Of course, as far as actually proving te existance of any of these species, the only way it will happen is that an actual body is found. However, I think there is enough circumstancial evidence at this point to warrant much more serious interest than there is.

For instance, two expeditions to the Himalayas have turned up hairs from a previously unknown primate. I'm not saying it's yeti, but isn't anyone curious what it is? Even if its some small species of monkey, isn't that worth looking into?

Alot of zoologist say that pretty much all the large mammals have been discovered. Maybe this is true, but in the 1800's Europeans traveling to Africa dismissed the native's accounts of a huge ape that lived in the jungle, and of course the gorilla was eventually discovered. No zoologists took the idea of the giant panda seriously until 1912. And as recently as the mid-90's two new species of bovine were discovered in Vietnam, which of course, the natives new about all along. Yet, zoologist still refuse to seriously investigate the claims of the natives of the Himalayas.

The Himalayas are vast, and mostly uninhabited, so its not too hard to accept the possibilty that a substainable population of large primates could live there for so long and go undiscovered. However, bigfoot of the American Northwest is a little different. And it stands to reason, that the more wilderness we replace with homes and businesses, the more often we would encounter them. But all we really have is a few hundred foot castings, a lot of not nessicarily reliable witnesses, and a suspicious film. Its possible however, that we've simply been pushing their population farther north in to less densely populated areas, or maybe we've just drove another species to extinction without knowing it.

As far as aliens go, I can only assume there must be some other life in the universe. Intelligent life though, I'm not sure. I mean the universe may be huge, but so is the amount of variables involved in the development of intelligent life. And I find the idea that they've came here even harder to believe. And then of course alien abductions are even less likely.

There is, however an Air Force base at Groom Lake, in the former nuclear test site area arbitarily numbered 51. Most likely though, the crafts people thought were UFOs were more likely unusually shapes prototype planes such as the stealth bomber. Actually the most sinister thing to go on there was the use of it "nonexistant" status for illegal burning of toxic waste, which led to the eventual death of several base employees. But that's a seperate issue.

Posted on 05-01-06 02:49 AM, in Why are things so cheap on eBay? Link
Actually, the main reason things are so cheap on ebay is competition. If you do a search and come up with 50 people selling what you want, chances are you'll just go to the cheapest one. That and the bids are spread out over alot of different auctions. So the sellers that survive are those that have a very cheap source for whatever it is they sell.
Also, there's the shipping. Most sellers actually make some profit off the shipping. Setting the price low and the shipping high, gets people to atleast click on the link in the search results. Also, ebay doesn't charge a commission on shipping. This is why I browse with it set to show the shipping on the results page.
I use a sniping program, though. I could bid right when I see what I want, but then the person I outbid would likely come by and outbid me, pushing the price up. If I just snipe the auction the price stays the same, and I can change my mind before the auction ends if I want.
There is also alot of conartists on ebay. People who sell bootleg software, movies and games, or repackaged freeware. And generally spam every catagory with unrelated crap. And as long as they're bringing in the auction fees, ebay doesn't care, even if you specifically point the people out. Alot of them are even powersellers.
Actually, I've been working on a solution for this over he past few days.

Trojan horses, spyware, viruses, and worms are all different things, but all forms of malware. So I guess what I should have said is she probably had malware. Although, it wasn't nessicarily a keylogger. It could have just sent her login cookie to someone else.

Also, I believe this is the distinction: Trojans appear to be something else when downloaded and/or installed. Spyware logs private information, and normally sends it to someone else. Viruses infect other files. And worms enter the system througgh a security hole in a program.

I guess there's probably some overlap. The other three could also be spyware. And a trojan or a worm could also infect files, like a virus.

What annoys me about the draft, is that they know I'm over 18 and male to complain at me if I don't register, but they can't use that same database to just send me a draft notice when nessicary instead of making me register. And why do I have to register to vote? Why can't I just go to the polls and show my ID? I have a Social Security card, state ID, birth certificate, voter registration card, and birth certificate, why do I need a draft card?

Actually, my draft card disappeared a long time ago. So, if I ever intend on burning it, I'll be searching for awhile first.

I used to think I was exempt from being drafted anyway, being an only son. But, this is just a myth. I guess I'll have to start working on becoming morbidly obese.

I eat dinner during break at work, so it normally something like a boneless pork rib (shaped patty) frozen dinner. Very high class.

I realize that's no help, so instead I'll give a recipe for something my Grandma used make (well, probably still does). Its called "chili killies", I managed to find one recipe on the internet, but its only somewhat like my Grandma's. Basically you simmer broken up corn tortillas shells in tomato sause (with chili seasoning if you like) and cottage cheese (the cottage cheese part might sound nasty, but it's really not), and serve it over white rice, and top it with shreaded cheese. I don't know the exact proportions, but figure on enough tomato sause to completely cover the tortillas and about a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese per serving. Besided other variations, the recipe on the internet called for ground beef, my Grandparents are vegetarians, so it obviously wasn't in their version, but if you're one of those people who must have meat in every meal, it could probably be added.

My mom used to make "red beans and rice". That was pretty good. I can only remember two ingredients though.

You give people too much credit. Movie studios make movies for profit. I have little doubt that "ZOMG 9/11 MOVIE.. I'LL MAKE TONS OF CASH!!!" pretty much sums up the thought process of whoever at Universial Studios made the desicion to fund this movie.

Later this year another movie is coming out: "World Trade Center". Guess what it's about.

Has anyone seen United 93 yet?

It's not quite summer yet, but I wish it was, so I've made a summer layout. It has watermelon, and, well, that's it, just watermelon.

Can't seem to get the transparency to work on IE though.

I'll add a little more later.

That's exactly what I used, but it doesn't seem to want to work. Without the transparency, it could use a border, but I like it without the border, with the transparency.

That didn't work either. I'm pretty sure I've got it right, I copied it directly from a working example. Something about it being on this page. Maybe if I put the style seperately instead of as an attribute. I hate IE. Originally I had a div in a div in a div. IE was so confused it just expanded the whole thing to about 20 times the proper height and width.

I can understand the Pastor's position.

I'm not giving any opinion on tithes or religion in general. But, its my understanding that the purpose of tithes (actually 10%) is less about the church receiving money than it is about the parishioner giving it up. Its about sacrifice, like fasting. By giving up 10% of the money you get, you're showing you love God more than money, and have trust (and faith) in God to return it to you "pressed down, shaken together, and running over". Apparently, when figuring her tithes for the winnings, that in the eyes of the church, and probably her own, were the result of God's favor, she decided she didn't trust in God that much. Not accepting the 0.27%, was simply telling her, this doesn't count as a sacrifice. To me he would have been more greedy to accept the $5000, since he had no way of knowing she would come back with more.

Ok, I seem to have located part of the problem. I used min-width, and min-height, something IE doesn't support. Appartently though, IE won't apply a filter unless atleast one dimensional property is set. Simply adding _height:80% solves the problem on the version on my computer. However, setting any dimensional property, no matter how small, in my actual layout, causes IE to once again freak out and expand the thing by like 20 times. I hate IE.

So it still needs work.

But besides the technical side, any critiques on the visual aspect?
