Well, I just read these sites a few minutes ago and I'm still blushing. I don't think there's much knowledge of this subject, which I always feel is a shame when it comes to something sexual, so I've decided to create this poll. Please pay attention to the poll's breifing before you vote. I'm very curious what the results will be, I can usually predict the outcome of a poll before posting it, but this time I have honestly no clue whatsoever what the turnout will be.

Edit Follows
I am not happy right now; the poll is broken. None of the choices are showing up, and when I try to edit the poll, I'm given an error message. Please read the poll question and the breifing, and copy/paste one of the following four choices into your post.
*exasperated sigh*

Positive attitude; I'm female.
Positive attitude; I'm male.
Negative attitude; I'm female,
Negative attitude; I'm male.

Second Edit Follows
And I can't un-disable html for this post.
*angry sigh and clenched fist*

What is, in your opinion, the best sound effect ever, of any game you've ever played, for any console or even computer? My vote goes to the dissapointing "wuh-wuh-wuuuh-wuh" sound effect when you successfully block a Bandit's steal attempt in Paper Mario. Not the sequel, the original. Coupled with his severely depressed facial expression, it's simultaneously the most hilarious and best sound effect of any game I've ever played.

How about you?

If you really want to make her move, throw her in a shallow pond, or a filled bath tub. Cats may generally hate water, but they are instinctively terrific swimmers, so she won't die or be hurt, and will get one heck of a workout in her mad dash for escape.

Just to note, galactophilia isn't intrinsically linked with infantalism or diaper fetishes or things of that nature.

MathOnNapkins: edit: Am I the only one who thought this was going to be about having a sexual fetish for aliens? I don't get why it's not called lactophilia but oh well.

Well, you know Latin. None if it makes a bit of sense to me. Personally, I was reminded of the old, old, old, incredibly oldschool shooter, Galactic Battle. I'll be interested to see some of the women of the board respond to the poll.

Aiya: ..I'd have to say this idea probably isn't the greatest. It could result in your cat hurting herself in her dash for escape, and probably not liking you very much either. lol

*shrugs* I was raised in the School of Hard Knocks and Tough Love, this is my idea of problem-solving.

Well, KT, you have to admit, there haven't been many famous philanthropists or philosophers or healers or such that were atheist. I have an atheist friend whose mission in life is to do something majorly good for the world around him. He wants to prove to the world that you don't have to fear a fiery demise at the hands of a murderous god to do good, or to be a good person. I do so hope he succeeds.

Most of you around here are teenagers, or just barely into adulthood. So what's next? You get out of school, maybe go to college, get a job, get married, have a few kids, watch them grow up, and then you die. That's what it amounts to, if you want not to get poetic about it. Is that how you want to live? If so, why, and if not, what else can you do? How do you want to live? I'm not asking how you expect to live, or how you're going to manage, but if you could live however you want...how? Why?

I'll relate my own story a bit later, if anyone's interested.

Simon: Depends on the sex, good sex beats just cuddling any day. Besides, who says you can't combine?

The poll, that's who. The question is, given either or, assuming they're both equally terrific, which would you pick.

My plan is working brilliantly. Soon, due to my constant piquing of other people's curiosity, I will be the only person left who isn't wasting three hours researching someone. With uncontested and unbridled power, I will become as the gods!

Jin Dogan: Sunni Muslim, baby!! Represent! Yea so, ask me about my beliefs and any questions you have about my faith and I'll respond. I have like all the answers to those questions prolly.

Why the misogyny? Why are - according to the Quran - women mere objects for the satisfaction of men? I know this is an unfair question since upwards of eighty percent of religions are misogynistic to at least a moderate degree, but to me, Islam has always seemed to go out of it's way to say that women are infinitely inferior to men. What are your thoughts on this?

Grey: On that note, my roommate once remarked to me that love in spite of something is much more powerful than love because of something...

Wise words. I remember when I first got internet access, I saw "your ideal mate" topics on message boards. People would construct these large, rather elaborate lists of criteria their "ideal mate" needed to fit. At first, I was foolish and blind and participated in the charade, but in recent years I've come to see that love isn't a list of desirable qualities and traits, love is an indescribable air blowing wildly around someone, and to be in love is for the air of two people to flow in harmony.

I would be willing to wager that if two people who are truly in love would have - before they ever met each other - looked at a collection of photos, and stumbled across the person they'd eventually fall for, they wouldn't give the image a second thought. That is to say, we're attracted to that air around each other, not to each other's habits or appearance or what have you. But I wonder...do some winds blow too wildly to harmonize...?

Men don't need to "grow breasts" in order to lactate, actually. Consider that a very small portion of the whole female breast is responsible for lactation (five percent?), most is just fatty tissue. Any healthy male (probably only those past a certain age) can be induced to produce milk, however the amount will be miniscule under most circumstances.

Mr. Z: I'm only against it because I'm 99.9% sure that unpasturized human breast milk tastes icky.

It was either on the Discovery Channel or TLC, but I remember hearing from a program on one of those stations that human breastmilk is quite sweet, and the reason is to condition infants to enjoy the taste of sugar, since it's so vital to our health and nutrition. In fact, other than birds which feed exclusively on sweet nectar, are humans perhaps the most inclined to consume sweet-tasting foods and drinks, of any mammal on Earth? I once heard a hypothesis that those whom were breastfed as children are more likely to be big fans of cakes and candies as adults, and those who were formula fed (formula is largely tasteless) are more likely to be uninterested in sweet foods.

I could be wrong.

I've created a questionaire for use in a project website of mine, and figured I'd post it here as well, in case anyone is interested in filling it out themselves. There's no real underlying purpose behind this, just have fun, and maybe your fellow Acmlmers will get a better idea of who you are. Answer however you feel like answering.

Who are you?

What do you look like?

What do you hold dear?

What do you stand firmly against?

What is your disposition towards other people?

Explain your position on the axis.

Explain your spiritual beliefs.

Tell us of your rituals, personal or otherwise.

Tell us something interesting.

The "axis" question refers to this...
http://www.politicalcompass.org/
The "tell us something" question is a free question, a chance for you to say something that isn't restricted by the guidelines of the questionaire. You can say whatever you want here.
