Risio, it's not that we don't like it, we just have a different opinion about it. I think it's kind neat, I just have mixed feelings about it. Just ignore the people at the top of the page, You have plenty of people who like it. Oh, and jens, nice tutorial. Now I know what I'm doing with hex editors!

You might be able to, but I can just see an error popping up or the model looking wierd because of Mario's behaviors. Oh, and Risio, that texture pack would be perfect with Yoshi. When VL-Tone releases his editor, you'll be able to do so. Speaking of which, when this editor comes out, you guys d realize that those model cahnging codes will be of no use, you can change models (I think) with the editor, making them work globally.(I think)

Thanks to the texture list, I'm really enjoying the painting editing!

Ha! Oh, and those who don't like the texture pack, you know, there are others at EmuTalk. Some look really neat (like cel-shaded M64)!

Okay. First, load up the extended Rom. Then use VL-Tone's Texture list found a few pages back. Highlight Codec and go to 16bpp RGBA 5551. Then highlight Navigate and go to 'Go To' and type in the first set of number's on VL-Tone's Texture list. Now, scroll down the screen and edit what you want.

Yes! A copy/paste thingy for TT64! That'll help greatly with what I want to do, can we like copy from one map then paste on another? Like copy a Bob-Omb and place it on the castle rooftop?

A new powerup in SM64: Super Mushroom! Use it and you'll become instantly big, able to destroy most things. Sort of like the one from SM64DS. And a Poison Shroom that turns you into tiny Mario, where everythig is bigger than you! Think Tiny Huge Island to get a glimpse. Oh, about the castle courtyard and front yard being together, that's actually possible with VL-Tone's editor, just delete the extra terrain from the courtyard!

I don't want to start another fight but I have found something on EmuTalk. http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=35193. This thread has some good TexPacks in my opinion. Someone also stumbled across a model editor(Go through a few pages on the thread). If you look on page two there, someone's git a better looking Power Bar and stuff, and someone found a cool-looking background to put in. If you don't like it, don't reply to this post! I don't want another fight. VL-Tone agrees.

It says codec under View at the top toolbar. You're talking about Tile Molester right?

I followed the directions but I see no new textures! I have them in the right folder.

EDIT: Ah, nevermind. I made a new folder entitled SUPER MARIO 64 and the textures appeared!

More SM64 ideas: Hover Boots: get these and you can walk on water/lava/quicksand until time runs out. Gold cap: Makes Mario Golden, and attracts yellow and blue coins to him. Lava Cap: Allows Mario to swim in lava.

Alrighty then, back on track. At least I wasn't here during all of that. Anyway, I've used your tutorial, jensthecomposer, and I can't get it to work. I'm using 010 as my hex editor, and whenever I try to change the level type for the castle grounds or change it's music, the values I put in are correct. But, when I fire up 1964 and play SM64, I don't see any apparent changes. What am I doing wrong?

I just figured it out. I have been editing the extended ROM the entire time, when I thought I was editing the original. Oh, and about that video plugin thingy, I figured it out. Now I feel bad about asking all those questions...

Thanks for the help guys! The Castle Grounds goes really good with the credits song for some reason. Something tells me that VL-Tone's gonna whip out his editor real soon, when we least expect it.

Same for me, it also does that on 7F and FF. Sounds like a cross between a high pitched sound if Metal mario walking with the sound of climbing up a tree. Wierd.

We're using the hex editor to edit level types and change the music on SM64. Anyway, I think those wierd sounds were a sound test of some sort not taken out by Nintendo when they made the game. They probably used it to test out the sound to make sure it worked in game, and apparently it didn't, so they probably changed it and forgot to take the test out.
