The graphics for Batman are actually pretty good. Wasn't it said that Return of the Joker is the best-looking NES game?

Good luck on your editors Mega-Dog.

I figured I would take the time to talk about this Mega Man 3 hack I'm working on. It's called Mega Man Action, and basically it emphasizes more on action. The game will be faster paced, and be more challenging than the original game. Mega Man now jumps higher, runs faster, slides faster and longer, and I am working on making some big changes to the game engine. One of the things I'm trying to do is add a new weapon, the Flamethrower. I have expanded the ROM so I can add new graphics without sacrificing old ones. I hope I can do it. If not, there is plenty of other things I can do. The levels will just be redesigned, with the themes still intact. So basically, its a new version of MM3, which is harder and focuses more on action. I'm working on it a little each day. Some screens:

Glad some of you are interested in the hack.

kuja killer, you might not like it, but yeah Megaman has a higher running speed. The game is going to be faster paced. But, I am going to do everything I can to make the game play differently from other Megaman games. You might enjoy the final version.

Skreename, the way the spikes are done is how it was done in the original. I'm merely staying consistent to that.

I liked the purple stage select screen that I made a game genie code out of, so I'm using it here. Now, the leaves are red, and you get to fight Protoman!

Yeah, Protoman works fine. The music in the game is now faster. Also, you can rapid fire your Mega Buster, and the bullets go faster too.

Now I'm really starting to make a mess of the game engine!

I'm working on making a full-screen inventory.

I had the same problem you did. I tried a few times, and I was like "WTF? It won't move." The valve does move when you rotate it. What you have to do is press a little more firmly with the stylus at one of the ends (don't remember which one, but I think it was the left end). And then proceed to turn it. For some reason I remember turning it counter-clockwise, but I don't remember. Hope this helps.

I'm changing the direction of the hack because I'm having a hard time implementing what I wanted to do. It sucks, but I still think I can make a good hack out of Mega Man 3.

Pretty much everything! I can't get the full menu to work, and I'm having a hard time getting the new stuff into the game.

No, a full menu isn't necessary, but I'm having a hard time coding it, and I'm having a hard time working with the game engine to get the new features I want in the game, such as new weapons, bigger and faster enemies. I would literally have to re-write the whole game engine to do what I want to do, and because of some inspiration I got, it has made me over-confident. Really what I wanted is a brand new MM game that plays completely different, and right now it still plays like the original NES style.

Nice work there! Very impressive. Did someone teach you ASM hacking, or did you learn it yourself?

Bio, I am curious. There are 2 ways I can think of that allowed you to display the Air Meter. I never really got too into the status bar of SMB3, but here are the two ways I'm thinking:

- You find some free space, and type the text "AIR" in there, and use code to make it appear where the boxes used to be.

- Since the letters are already there in the pattern table, you just make them appear by writing to the PPU.

My guess is that you did choice #2. Am I right?

There is nothing wrong with the graphics n Mega Man Powered Up. It is the graphics style that Capcom chose for the game, and I think they did a very good job. Capcom focuses on quality when they make their games, hence why most of their games are pretty good.

Haha. Yeah, why not LOL? Nintendo has a problem with naming things. Please don't tell me I am the only one who doesn't like the name New Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. DS would have been a much better name, and the irony of it is that was the project's working title.
