And now I'm embarrassed (again). Why? I always forget the simplest of solutions. Not only does it "attack" me in the real world, it does it to me in games, too! Please don't get mad at me. It's not like I have a good memory. ; Anyways, now that that's over, I'm off to see if I can find some sprite/tilesheets of SMAS-SMB3 graphics on Google.

Edit: Well, I don't need Spritesheets, seeing as I already have those... But I can't find tilesheets... Maybe someone has an unlocked hack with the graphics who would let me use them in my hack? I'll find out.

...XD Why do the simple solutions elude me so? Anyways, thanks for that idea. I'll try that. ...But why not just use YY-CHR to get the graphics?

Yeesh. The only ones I can find either take the music from the ROM and turn it into a MIDI file, or require Winamp, which I don't have, and can't get (my parents probably wouldn't allow it). Yes, I checked Google already, but to no avail- It's either get Winamp, or don't get it at all, as some of the programs it came up with either need Winamp or are a Linux build... Please help me out.

Great! This'll help me add SMAS-SMB3 graphics to a hack! Thank you so much!

Huh? SMAS GFX hack? Never heard of it! Speaking of hearing things, have you heard about Custom Palettes? No? It's in the Level Editor, under the Level menu. You can't miss it- It's first on the list!

Sigh... Open an emulator and make a save state while you're on the overworld. In YY-CHR, open that save state in the palette thing (far-right button). Hurray. Now you can see those colors in YY-CHR. And guess what? It says that in the Readme that comes with the file.

And pikaguy900, please stop treating me like a n00b.

But you are. ...Just kidding. I'm trying not to make you seem like a n00b. If anything, I'M the n00b. Well, in comparison to others. I can barely tunr out anything people like! It's like I have to go beyond my own limits to make something that people like... Anyways, I'm sorry. I just don't like it when people don't read the Readme, since most of a person's questions are answered there. But I can't get on to you for not noticing an obvious answer- That kind of answer ALWAYS eludes me. XD

I'm not sure if you already know this, but I'm just saying it because not many people use TLP and know it's advantages.

Yeah, I don't need the GFX help anymore, but thanks anyways. Also, this is off-topic, but your post layout/background/whatever is gone. It says that it's missing or something...

I'm using a SMAS Save State to get SMB3 overworld tiles. Putting them into one of the overworld GFX files is easy, but... Getting the colors is hard. In YY-CHR, you don't get the RGB values (as far as I know), and in TLP, the only color I got was black! Is there a way to see the RGB values of Save State colors so I can place them in SMW? I absolutely hate the trial-and-error method, and this time, it's not worth it- There are literally THOUSANDS of color combinations I could try, and I could STILL not get it! May I please have some help here?

What emulator are you using?

Really? But I can't double-post here, so... Oh well. It didn't really have much to do with getting SMB3 graphics into SMW, and my queston is solely about getting correct colors easily out of Save States.
Anyways, I'm using ZSNES (I've used it ever since my Snes9x run-in with incorrect transparency while playing KDL3...). Why do you ask?

I think you should detail how to get colors for the overworld, as I'm having trouble getting the colors right on the SMAS-SMB3 overworld tiles...

The tutorial helps somewhat, but now I've come to another roadblock- There's a big black section where a different color is supposed to be. The culprit? A black color in each palette that's hardcoded by ASM. ASM... My greatest enemy. Sigh... What to do? Ah! I know! Learn ASM and hope for the best...

I have a (hopefully) simple request: I would like a Timed Lift Platform that goes in reverse. If possible, I'd also like it to go up. Thanks in advance.

I hate that. It makes the colors rught in the editor, but wrong in the game. What makes palettes do that? If we could find it and fix it (somehow), we'd be saving a lot of people from the hassle of recoloring their tiles just to get them looking right...

It's too bad you never put them in an unlocked hack and say we could use them... But still, at least you're working on that tutorial, which, in the end, will make it simple to get the overworld anyways. Of course, I'm sure that palettes 2 and 3 are safe to use as long as every single level in your hack has Use Custom Palette enabled...

Okay! The thing is, all I've been doing so far on that hack is modifying the overworld (it's a different hack than the one I released a demo of a few days ago), and I'm sure I messed it up, so let me fix it real quick and I'll send it to you. I'll try via PM, okay?

Me too, but I'm sure that you're waiting patiently for it to come out (like me). I hope no threads about Solar Soundtrack start to appear like what happened with Toad's Tool 64 (or whatever it's called. I never heard of it until I started reading the SM64 threads and seeing people ask about it...)... *gets very odd feeling* Why do I get the feeling it's going to happen anyways?

I don't think it will. Most all of those threds dissapeared when the Rom Hacking Forum was marked "Approval Only". I can wait, though. It isn't necessary to my hack.

Same here. But having a little info on how it's going wouldn't hurt, right?

Anyways, I have a question. Who is supposed to be making Solar Soundtrack? I forgot who it was...

You know, the only thing that could make that better is if another custom sprite were to continuously spawn it, like in SMB. Sure, not many people would like to recreate SMB, but why not use the platform idea anyways? Just because it was in SMB doesn't mean it should only be used in a recreation of SMB. After all, it could help you hide secrets from players...
