| Yinns turns. Way too late.
SLAM! He winces as he takes the blow, and the Vest beeps a few times in response, but Yinns is not knocked down. He has a Passive ability called Steadfast that prevents him from being knocked down. He immediately counters the attack by firing the Coil Knuckles, both of them, at Rin. The right fist fires straight at Rin's chest, and the left fist trickily swerves to the left, and hooks right again to try and deliver a perfectly horizontal blow to Rin's jaw. The coils retract after attacking and snap the Knuckles back into place over his fists. Yinns then air-dashes backwards, to get a decent distance from Rin. He can't do it again if Rin approaches, though, 'cause now he's too close to the green flame that's still burning. He doesn't want to get caught in his own attack if he can avoid it...! "For someone who drinks so much ale, you certainly have some amazing tricks, kupo!" |

| Schwa watches a while longer, gets bored, and goes off to find another table. Yinns, on the other hand, is now intensely curious as to what Slur is up to. He casually strolls over...
"Kupo, it's... Ah, it's a handheld video game player. Hold on a second..." Yinns the Moogle takes a small silicon chip out of one of his coat pockets. He holds it with his index finger and thumb gently, and it gleams in the cafe light. "Ah... Yes, this should work in that machine of yours. If you have a second one of those handhelds, care for a game of SNES-ported Tetris Attack? Yes, I ported it to this chip so it would work for the Advance, with the company's permission of course, kupo." He sets the chip down on the table in front of Slur. "And this game is NOTHING like Tetris, by the way. Kupo!"  |

| Schwa's first thought at Jake's statement is relief. But then he remembers... 'Bad guys' is completely subjective.
"Soooooo... By 'bad guys', do you mean Evil guys, or Good guys which were 'bad' to YOU 'cause you might really be Evil? Watch out, I'm about to make myself known." Schwa's two hands burst with blue, etheral energy as he leaps high into the air, front-flips, and dives into the midst of the dusty murk. He slams the ground right beside the volcanic, lava-dressed mound in the center of the clearing with his palms, and when that happens there is a massive burst of ether as the murky cloud is buffeted in all directions, making visibility a bit more possible. (The ether is not harmful, though.) The white-clad, blindfold-wearing man, now visible to Jake and vice-versa, stays in handstand position for a few seconds before flipping deftly to his feet. He salutes Jake in greeting. "Hey! Psi Warrior on duty, here, that's all." He begins examining the singeing rock mound carefully, using Psi to back up his search. "Just looking for something, no harm intended. There's supposed to be the entrance to a lava-ruins somewhere around here, and I'm trying to recover some kind of Runed Boomerang once inside." He sighs. A Psi Warrior's work is never done... "What are you doing here by yourself, anyway? You looking for it too or what?" |

| 'Scuse you, Sky? I've been here for over 2 years and I'm STILL improving. Not everyone can exhibit the gift we Roleplayers emit, you know. Don't you ever say "it doesn't take much to be good". It takes HELL.
To Gaz: Activeness was never an issue in fights against me. If you can post once a week minimum, you're active enough, unless this is an actual RP we're talking about as opposed to an Arena fight. Longer than a week is too long. And you should be proud to drag out your posts, so long as it's not redundant text. The longer the post, usually the more creative it ends up. I despise fighting someone who doesn't put PLOT into the Arena battles, and you seem like you put Plot into everything, so in my eyes you'd actually be quite a worthy rival! Speaking of long posts: Your Character Profile sheet, in my opinion, should be very long. Mine might be about 14 pages, but I'm not sure. Yeah, don't be afraid to be yourself. Roleplaying should be therapy. |

| As Rin lights the match, Yinns KNOWS what's about to happen.
"Agh! KUPO! Uh, initiate Mirror Step!" Instantly Rin is surrounded in 6 Yinnses, which all look exactly alike and fool even the best detection spells. Five are holograms. One is real. Rin's attack nails one of the holograms dead-on, destroying it, leaving 5 targets left. Immediately they all Air-Dash backwards at the same time, spreading out. Each moves in sync with the others as they all hold out one of their Knuckle-fists towards Rin... "So, Rin... What about Universal attacks? Have any of those? Kupohohohoho!" Yinns's voice seems to come from no specific location. Hitting the target will be a guessing game. Catch: For each Hologram remaining, Yinns's Defense stat is a little lower. Should an attack hit home, it'll hit with might, a good chance for Rin to redeem his lowered Attack Power from the oil-ignition. |

| The two duos get done with their foes at about the same time. Allaura lands swiftly behind Schwa, and Schwa can't help but smirk. Allaura notices.
"What's so funny, mushroom man?" "Nothing much... Just, if there's one thing that impresses me, it's graceful combat. ...And do NOT call me that." He glances at Kalar and Garro next, remembering... "Especially... in front of... THIS guy." He starts toward them, mostly Garro, but Allaura grips his shoulder with one fluid movement and holds him back. "Schwa, use some common sense today, would ya?" "Let go of me, you ignorant dame! Garro's the guy that used Holy magic for Evil purposes that one time! Demons must DIE." Allaura's having a tough time holding on now. "I have a feeling you'll correct yourself later on if we allow you to." Schwa breaks free. "Garro, HAVE AT YOUUUUUU!!" He leaps forward and tries bringing a left, ether-coated hook from the air into Garro's head. If this hits, he'll kick off him, backflip and land 7 feet away in a crouch stance. This attack could probably be effortlessly intercepted by Kalar, though. Allaura slaps her face. "Here we go... Garro, Kalar, seriously, my sincere aplogies in advance..." She lowers her voice so they can hear her but not Schwa. "He's a bit of a black-and-white thinker, kinda stubborn..." UMana l........... 1/12 |

"All I know, Alexa, is that Sensae and the Assets won't allow him to go back on his honor if he tried, and that's good enough for us. You don't know the nature of the Living Assets, reaper! Alpha Aura!" (echo effects) A large, red light ring lights up on the ground. Allaura feels energy flow into her. This aura will supply Allaura with a turn of charged Alpha Energy per turn as she fights. While this particular energy can't be used in most Techs, it is meant to power particular ones. Using the passive ability of the Celestiaspheres, she attacks with them on the same turn, this time firing all 3 of them at the three unharmed tentacles coming out of the ground. Diaxos makes a defensive dash at the stunned reaper, attempting to deliver a Blade Lord-style cleave over her whole body. The sword attack is mixed with raw mana, so if the Physical damage has no effect on her, she'd at least take light damage from the mana in the attack. However, if Alexa chooses to attack him before or during his attack, he'll completely cease his attack and attempt to block with his katana. "I got yer back, Psi Warrior!" he calls. DChakra @ @ |

Schwa stops, thoughtful. "Hey, out of curiosity... Which Goddess is this you work for, anywho? If she's a Good Goddess, surely she's heard of the Living Assets before, so you could say that with that logic, you and I are automatically allies." Schwa focuses his Psi once again, and it points him into one direction. He steps to the northeast of the mound and shines rays of Ether at it. An invisible Ritual Circle becomes visible in the rays. "Haha! Target accquired. Now all I gotta do is find a way to--" Suddenly a 16-foot crater in the ground disintegrates around Schwa in an instant. Schwa half-stumbles, half-flips through the air out of the way and lands not very gracefully outside the new hole in the ground. "Oww... Agh. HUP..." He leaps to his feet. "What the hell? ...AHA! It's a way into the ruins! Look, there's even a staircase down there now! Hey, Jake... I'm reeeeeeally sorry about this, but... That Boomerang's MINE. Sensae needs it. Cheerio!" He turns to enter the ruins, but a well-timed attack or technique from Jake could probably stop him, should Jake feel his duty is of more importance than Schwa's... |

The unsuspecting Schwa "has a swell trip" at the mercy of the paperclip grapple. On the ground, he quickly slips the chain off his leg and scrambles to his feet. He takes an unusual stance, both hands flaring powerfully with sky-blue, etheral energy. "You--!! Awright then... I wasn't planning on engaging a foe at this point, but why the Hell not, I say? En guarde!" Schwa takes a few steps to his left, focuses, then brings his palms together over his head. He takes his two pointing-fingers and draws an arc outward, revealing a semicircle of thick, sleek, silver, razor-sharp energy. Then, with a hand-thrust towards Jake, he cries, "Alpha Psibeam!" (echo effects) Immediately the arc of light streaks forwards, aimed right at Jake. It is his signature attack that, if it connects, causes above-average Holy/Psychic damage, and double damage if the target is Evil or of Evil origins (Demon, Undead, Necromancer, etc.). What makes this attack so nasty is that it homes in on the target forever, since it is locked on to the target's actual soul like a guided missile, until it connects or hits part of the scenery or some attack. Since it has limited curving capabilities much like a real missile, one may be able to lure it into a wall or rock or whatever if the timing's right. After attacking, Schwa's entire body bursts with bright ether. Psi Warriors sure like to put on a lightshow in battle, it seems. Jake better be careful and diverse in his game... Schwa checks his Unique Mana reserves. They have begun to fill up. UMana l........... 1/12 |

| Oops. Schwa is awestruck. Well, that's what happens when you play the Tiger and not the Dragon...
"Allaura?" "Hey, you're the one who wanted to shove ether down his throat, not me." "What!?" He breaks free of Garro's hold, injuring himself as he does. "Ow ow ow... Alright, Allaura, what was THAT?" "Turn around. He just asked you a question." "Right..." Schwa turns around to face Garro. "Quite simple, Garro. Holy energy is the essence of Good, not Evil. Therefore, by using it for Evil, you're desecrating the Assets." "And," Allaura throws in with a smile that she can't help, "doing that creates a paradox, which has a 15% chance to become a Plot Hole, which in turn has a 35% chance to destroy the Universe." Schwa whips around. "What!?" "Sorry, just something I read from somewhere once." Schwa sighs and turns back around. "Yeah, I'll settle our score, all right. I'll settle YOU too, you cultist! Emotional Rockets!" (echo effects) Schwa makes three hand motions, and rainbow-colored ether flickers about as three familiar, colored rockets of ether appear by Schwa's shoulder. "Taste the wrath of the Assets!" Schwa thrusts a hand out, and the red rocket takes off right at Garro, homing in much like a guided missile. Allaura starts forward. "Well, there's no stopping him now, guys, unless you defeat him... You don't mind if I help him, do you? Or I could sit out... Really he deserves what's coming to him..." She eyes Kalar. "You don't look to bad of a fighter with that scythe of yours, though. Why not help your ally?" |

| Schwa crosses his ether-coated arms over his chest as the chain strikes him dead-on. As it strikes, it is knocked back with a poof of ether. Schwa blocked the attack, reducing most, but not all, of the damage.
"I hope for your sake you have a more diverse Offensive Moveset, pal. Physical ain't gonna work! Wahaha!" It was kind of a bluff, since he couldn't block perfectly and he still takes SOME damage, but hey... Schwa suddenly takes off at a dash at Jake. He rapidly approaches him, barely avoiding the hot rock mound in the center of the field, and as he reaches melee strike range he blinks out of existance! It wasn't a teleport; he used a sudden speed-burst to dart behind Jake, deliver an etheral Left Hook to the back of his head, then blink in front of him again in mid-backward leap, landing on his feet at a crouch 9 feet away. The attack does below-average Holy/Physical damage should it connect, which is lower than his average physical attack power because the speed bursts borrowed from his Attack Power in this instance. "C'mon, I'm curious now. Show me a Special Technique. Heh heh..." UMana ll.......... 2/12 |

I'm the same way but with anything creative. Problem is that since I take antipsychotic pills every night at 6:30 PM, and when I do I got a half-hour before I'm dog-tired, I have to force myself to go to bed to prevent myself from screwing up any of the projects I'm working on ('cause that's what happens when I'm mentally exhausted). It REALLY sucks. Someone cry for me.  |

| Diaxos manages to barely block the scythe attack, but is nicked on the hand. He is awarded 1 Blue DChakra unit. But as he is nicked, a large cloud of blue fire, which is actually raw Mana, explodes from his hand. He shakes it.
"Agh, agh! What's that weapon got in it?" "Incoming, Diaxos!" He turns to see the tombstone about to be yanked at him. He leaps back from Alexa, and as the stone flies right at him, he performs Mastery Catch, burning both Blue DChakra as his sword plows through the projectile with a mind of its own. The stone shatters, and Diaxos receives 3 Blues. Allaura deals with her two by side-flipping away from the first one, then bringing up an ether shield for the second one. It still sends her slightly flying, since it was so heavy. Then comes Alexa's Expert Slice attack. Diaxos seems to know where it'll hit, and attempts to block it-- it works, but the attack force alone knocks him to the ground and damages him anyway. He is still awarded 3 Blues for hitting the attack with Chaosmusket, though. Allaura uses a Tech to protect herself ahead of time. "Divine Barrier!" (echo effects) The mahogany Celestiasphere slams into the ground in front of her, as a large wall of smooth rock springs up with a roar. The wall of earth is positioned just in front of her and acts as a barrier. The slice comes, and although it severely damages the barrier by knocking parts of it out in the cleave, Allaura is unharmed by it. Allaura leaps up to the top of the wall in an unusual stance. "Really, you won't want to drag out a fight with me. You'll lose." DChakra @ @ @ @ @ @ @ Alpha l..... 1/6 |

| "Pahahaha! Ya sealed your fate, matey! Thunder Glider!" (echo effects)
Schwa stays at a concentrating crouch position to prevent himself from being blown away, as he makes a special gesture, releasing ether into a form in front of him. Soon, a blue, top-shaped platform has appeared before him. He handstands for a moment as the top hovers under him to catch him. He's now standing on top of the platform. It hovers in the air, unsteady in the wind, and the tip on the bottom lets loose a thunderbolt into the fray before Schwa and the platform are fired backwards as his resistance against the wind finally fails. The thunderbolt is aimed at the chain creating the wind... In any normal circumstances it should have no problem conducting through the chain and scoring a direct hit on Jake himself. Extra damage might even be done because of the wind, and Wind energy boosts Thunder energy in several instances of RP physics! As for Schwa, he is blown off the platform, but as he lands, he hits the ground at a handstand, backflips, and lands on his feet. Perfect recovery. ...Or not, because one second after he lands on his feet, he stumbles and lands on his back. "Damn! Way to blow a stylish defense, Schwa..." He leaps back to his feet, and the top zooms back over as he gets back on, now around 24 feet from Jake. "So that was your Tech? That? Let that electric shot be a lesson to your pride. All great weapons come with weaknesses!" If Jake is able to use Schwa's words against him later in the battle, kudos to him. ^.^ UMana lll......... 3/12 |

| Allaura nods in approval. "Yes, I know both your names... Yours by mind-reading, Kalar, and Garro I know a *little* bit about because I looked at a slightly old Profile sheet for out old Tournament that Schwa judged. It didn't give much details, though, and I tried to stay out of affairs that weren't my own, so..."
"Fine. You won't help, Allaura? I'll take 'em both on myself." "That's suicide, Schwa. Kalar hasn't even bloody attacked you yet. Be sensible, for the love of God." "Eh? Hey, you're right. 'Sides, my target is this half-mormon half-zealot 100% Rabid Bishop, not Mister Scythe." Allaura leaps off the walkway, hovers up in a double-jump maneuver, and lands on a building roof nearby. "You'll learn, Schwa..." Schwa brings his palms together and opens them again, flaring with ether. "Alright, no Techs... just skill on skill. Bring it, Priestie!" Schwa thrusts both hands forwards, and a barrage of etheral energy bolts showers Garro for 7 seconds, each hit dealing low Holy/Psychic damage, but it IS a flurry, so... Schwa *thinks* it'll do extra damage to him because Schwa's convinced that Garro is Evil, but he probably isn't, therefore it probably won't... Allaura just watches for now, but secretly she wishes to see Kalar's battle skill too. She won't initiate the challenge, though. She's not like Schwa. UMana lll......... 3/12 |

| OOC: I hope you know it's against the rules to say that your attacks hit for sure. Only the opponent can decide if he's hit by your attacks or not. Be careful how you word your attacks, 'cause your last post looked illegal to me for that reason.
"Wait a second..." Schwa detects a change in his planned attack... but he knows how to handle it. He does a 135 degree flip, setting the tip of the Top platform upwards at a 45 degree angle in front of him, as the thundified chain returns to counter his attack. It strikes the top, transferring the shock to it and supercharging it. Schwa then darts forwards and up at an angle, aims the top towards Jake, and announces a Tech. "Thunder Slash!" (echo effects) Suddenly, the top shoots out at Jake, coated in a cone of wild electricity from the absorbtion of Jake's counter! Should this connect, heavy Electric damage will be dealt, but unlike Alpha Psibeam it is a beeline attack, not homing. Whether it hits or not, the top returns to Schwa, who's been hanging in midair during the attack, and lowers him to the ground. "Yeah, no more of THAT. C'mon! I ain't done yet! Woohaha!" The top hums as it powers up an attack... While not a charge, Jake might be able to tell that Schwa's getting ready for a wild maneuver of some kind. UMana llll........ 4/12 |

| OOC: TWO WEEKS. Hah. ...'Bout time The Schwa returns home.
Schwa breaks out of his coccoon in an explosion. Energy flies in all directions, but quickly fizzles out before any of it can reach Krishen. Schwa is revealed. His sight would be disheartening for any close friend of his to behold. His skin is maroon-colored and fading into a lava-red every few seconds, he's coated in green and purple fire which turns the air around him molten hot, and the fire is in turn coated in rainbow-colored ether which is shooting dangerously out of control, and Schwa's white robe-clothes are glowing hot-white. Clearly his Psi Warrior attire was meant to contain his signature etheral energy, but not THIS kind of force he now carries. But why? WHY? ...It started around a week ago when Schwa mysteriously lost 86% of his Psi powers due to a drug in the mana in the air. He took out the demented Druid with a sword, just like old times, and in three days he had his powers back. It felt weird to have them back after, what, 10 days... ...Now he's got more power in him than most Holy Gods. And we're not talking about the Living Assets here. This is DANGEROUS. It could KILL him. And he knows it. Schwa's form is bent over with a palm on the ground, gasping for air. He's being tortured. ...But... how might this stored energy affect his combat skills? "K-K-Krish-sh-shen-n-- n-n-need help-p-p-- I-I-Inf-f-flict-t-t-t d-damage-ge-ge-- F-f-f-free m-me--" The telepathic message is fragmented and mentally painful to listen to. It's his one desperate attempt to open a window of oppritunity to survive this overdose of otherworldly mana. Student? Maybe. But now the student is in need of a different kind of teacher. 5 turns to go. OOC: Plot twist, anyone? Hey, it's no Schwa vs. Corona, but considering I haven't roleplayed in over 2 weeks, I'm guessing this is pretty damn good. |

| OOC: Luuuuuucieeeeees, I'm hoooooooome! (That is, back from a 2-week absence. Woot, simply woot.) I shall celebrate... in character.
On a side note, I'm guessing there's about to be some big plot thing involving Dynamo pretty soon. If that happens, I'm so totally there. 
It's been a while since the famous-around-here yet slightly immature Psi Warrior, none other than Schwa, has stopped by the Cafe. But even rarer is the instance that is to happen today, an instance that Schwa would've never predicted to happen with all the mind-reading in the world at his disposal. Schwa, Psi Warrior and Embodiment of Good, strolls through the Cafe entrance. On his shoulder is Solaris, a black Chao, with a spikeball over the head indicating its existance as a Dark Chao, yet with the face (and, to boot, the heart and soul) of a Hero Chao. The tip of its turnip-shaped head is red-orange, indicating that it's Power-Flying type to experienced Chao breeders. Strolling in behind Schwa is another Psi Warrior-- the just-as-famous-around-here Allaura, her long, silky brown hair looking as captivating as ever to behold. With Schwa and Allaura together, there are one of two reasons. Either A) they're on a mission together once again, which is rather unlikely since the Cafe is the one place where nothing violent ever happens, or B) Schwa's actually taking her out to eat. Why unlikely? If one keeps up to date on the latest Psi Warrior Lore... 1) Allaura is attracted to Schwa. 2) Schwa is indifferent to Allaura. 3) This instance could very well go against Number Two. "Ah, this place..." Allaura starts, Schwa having no exp Schwa looks back real quick. "Remember what I said? Don't tease the issue." "Right. ...Still, thank you." Schwa sighs. "A meal here oughta help me forget all my current troubles. I just felt it would do the same for you, since we've both been battling hard recently... ya know, with ol' Vixallion and friends on the run. This isn't a relationship thing. Remember that." Allaura starts giggling. "What's so funny, Allaura?" "You're so quick to jump to conclusions! ...Gee, I wonder what that says about you?" "WHA-- ...Hrm! Right! Well... You better have an order of food ready. Solaris, you know what you want, right?" "Chaa." They approach the counter person, who is, at this time of day, a female Yuke, looking just like most other Yukes, really. Neither Schwa nor Allaura nor Solaris can tell she's female by looking at her, but that's to be expected. "Afternoon, weary adventurers. Requests, if you have any? We serve it all." "Finally a decently normal counter person," Schwa thinks. He's not aware that some Yukes utilize mind-reading. "Let's see... I'll have a Lunch order of Farfetch'd, please, and Solaris here would like a Chao Friut of course. Allaura?" "Atlantic Ambrosia, medium. ...Please." "It'll be an honor. Oh yes, I believe you two should qualify for our Tuesday special." "Which is?" Schwa askes, a bit slowly and undone. "Couples get 25% off." "WHAT!!?" Schwa loses it. Allaura bursts out laughing and squeezes Schwa. "Haha! See, Schwa, there's no escaping it! I WIIIIIIN!!" "Chaa!" "Grr, would you LET-- GO-- Ah. Erm, well... Yes. We're NOT a couple. I'm just--" "Taking his girlfriend out on a date!" "ALLAURA!!" The Yuke nods. "Yes yes, I see the situation. By 'couple' I meant a guy and a girl of the same species eating a meal together. Please pardon the misunderstanding. Your orders are #88, by the way." They go to sit down, but Schwa is interrupted by the Yuke. "And Schwa?" "...Yeeeessss?" "Please forgive me. This is the third time I made that mistake." "Yer forgiven, dude." "I'm a girl." "Eep! Oh, yes, of course. Now I'm sorry as well. Haha... You're alright, ya know? You are alright." He salutes her, and joins Allaura at the table. Allaura looks funny at Schwa for a moment, which Schwa doesn't really understand. "...What?" "You're sooo clueless. I like it." "...I noticed. Damn, why did you even go there back there, anyway? C'mon!" "Here's a better question. Why not?" "Simple. It's a matter of-- uh... Wait a sec', that IS a better question. But there's an answer! I just... can't find the words!" "Just as I thought. Oh, something else?" "...What now?" "Why Farfetch'd? Don't you know they're endangered? I mean, this isn't even our universe we're talking about, but still!" "You're living in the past. They WERE endangered. WERE. As in, 6 years ago." "...Oh. Tee hee!" "...." |

I'm a huge Sonic fan. This story wigs me out. BAD. Nice job there.
Although... Tails Doll WAS a real character. Ever play Sonic R for the Saturn console? He wasn't a very good character, though... but that's off topic. Still, Alastor, don't say things like that, really. Writing about scary dreams helps people like us to relieve us of their aftereffects. Subconsciously that's probably what Shyguy was trying to accomplish. And that's coming from a hardcore writer's perspective. So there. (Yeah, Shy, it wasn't bad, but don't let it go to yer head! Woot!) |
