Right.
My dad has this IBM laptop. He usually dock it to his docking station, which has a DVI plug. Then one day, in all of a sudden, the DVI image turns up on the external monitor all covered in green and pink noise. We've tried using different cables, monitors and docking stations, which leads me to think that there's something wrong with the lappy. Any ideas? |

Happens every once in a while... Maybe I should make it give an appropiate error message... Hmm...
You can usually just solve it by refreshing, though... Edit: I know I ought to delete this, but how did it happen? Isn't there like... a 24-hour posting cooldown? I'm really sorry though. Clicked the post button twice because I quickly added something to the post. (edited by Boom.dk on 11-07-06 12:59 PM) (edited by Boom.dk on 11-07-06 01:00 PM) |

Yes I do. It's a LEGO cam (Logitech QuickCam inside, yay) intended for Mindstorms robots... but the software only works with Win9x. In Windows XP I can only use it as a regular webcam. I think the cable is 5 meters or something.

I think it's a nice idea. There would be some minor problems, but I don't see why it wouldn't work out. Look on the bright side: A lot of people will feel better about themselves.

If I had documentation of both formats, a converter would be very possible to make.

Many old sound cards have a built in IDE controller, I think... Anyway... As weird as it may sound, bad RAM can be the cause of disc read failure. I've seen it with two computers now (an old one with SD RAM and a newer one with DDR RAM), both with the same symptoms. We're talking CD read failures in the middle of a Windows installation (the disc was completely fresh and without a scratch), bluescreens bitching about ntfs.sys when reading from the disc, etc. I changed the RAM, and everything was good.
This may not be your problem, but you could try to take a one of the RAM blocks out (given there is more, duh). |

My NT domain administrator is watching me. Every time I do things that I'm not supposed to (using regedit, for example) he can see it.
How can I prevent this treachery? (edited by Boom.dk on 11-27-06 05:36 PM) |

Eh? It's at my school. We all get lappies, and we can basically do with them what we want. But you know... It's no fun if I am watched. |
