Ooh! How could I forget the SuperFurrys! They're awesome Mind you my fave song of their is "Show me magic" which is English

Ayumi Hamasaki is cool (my fave song by her is Fly away), but I prefer Angela Aki.

You may have heard that ol Ken is giving the keynote speech at the TGS 2006,

Ok Key points so far

- Networking and user interactivity is the key apparently with a GMS (Global mapping system) in place that nwill enable developers to use a library, an ever changing map of the real world uploaded by users.

- Sony have ripped off the Wii Virtual Console PS1 and PS2 games as well as MD and PC Engine Emus released and available online....

- Ok a little weird but users will be able to donate the processing power of the PS3 onlin to help medical research (think like the SETI @ Home thingy but for a PS3)

- Users will be able to give their ideas to game developers. Okaaaay....

and er... that's it

While I didn't exactly expect him to bend down on both knees and beg for forgiveness from European gamers... I expected more than that/ Poor show Ken!

P.S ooh! Question and answer session, this SHOULD be interesting!

Pah! It's by a Sony approved journalist. Dear me.

- He thinks the PS3 in America isn't that expensive but in Europe it is due to exchange rates. He also drinks beer instead of wine as it's cheaper.

I'll keep ya posted

Firstly, Ninty ripped off Microsoft with the Virtual Console idea.

The medical program? I've done some research and it;s to do with http://folding.stanford.edu/ , the science completely baffles me, but it IS 3.35am here so forgive me.

An Update? I write this entry battered and bloodied from the war I pledged on waging in the first post of this, my own personal "War on terror".
and my friends, at the moment, I'm losing. I weigh 2.5 pounds more than my last entry, being on a vicious sea-saw which saw me lgain 4 pounds one week, only to lose 3;5 the next and then gain 2 pounds more. It hasn;t helped that the depression cycle of my manic depression has knocked me for six, while I'm fighting it for dear life (and it is for my life I'm waging this war).

This is a bad time, rock bottom isn;t far away, but I keep on trying, perhaps I can salvage some self esteem from this.

Ah good luck! I've tried to organise a Citadel Meetup for 8 years now (Yep that was no typo), and no luck, though the odd Citadelier has met another. I've met 2 (although I was engaged to one at the time, so don't suppose she counts ). I wouldn't mind attending, it would be interesting to put faces to names. I'd supply the karaoke. Karaoke + Alcohol = Good laughs

Ph Both PS3s will have a HDMI socket now apparently

Oh if you think THAT Microtransaction is bad... getta load of THIS...

From Gamesradar.com

"Sony will use Gran Turismo HD, the next-gen update to the realism-heavy racing series on PlayStation 3, to showcase its 'micro-transaction' system for the console. The game will appear in two versions - GT HD: Premium, with 30 cars and two tracks included, and GT HD: Classic, a cheaper, stripped-down offering that features no cars whatsoever.

To play the Classic version you'll have to download cars and tracks using Sony's online service. This is according to an article in Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, which claims that cars will be priced between 50 and 100 yen (roughly 20 to 45 pence) and new tracks will cost from 200 to 500 yen (roughly 90p to £2.25).

With around 750 cars and 50 tracks available for download, this adds up to a ridiculous amount. All 750 cars could cost you in the region of £200, while collecting all 50 tracks would require you splash out upwards of around £60. That's effectively nearly £300 for the full Gran Turismo HD package!

This sounds absolutely bonkers to us - especially as Gran Turismo HD is planned only as a stop-gap until a true next-gen sequel appears. Sony was unavailable for comment at the time of writing, but we'll be tracking down an official word on the crazy sounding Gran Turismo plans as soon as we can and hopefully the PlayStation maker will tell us that it's all been a big mistake..."

Anyone else have this? I have to say it's pretty addictive, the Wi-Fi aspect is awesome, playing Texas Hold 'em, Blackjack or bowling against complete strangers is a loot of fun, oh and I kick butt at Koi-koi. The only annoying thing is bad losers backing out at the last sec.

Y'see That's what I LOVE about the CD's, the vocal harmonies, mind you it coulod be cause of my roots, Welsh folk music and that (I've yet to find an equivalent to the Welsh art of Cerdd ddant, where a person sings a completely different tune which compliments a counter melody, they sond like they shouldn;t go together but do beautifully)

Just reporting back to say...

I don't go to weightwatchers anymore.

Phew, I said it, it took me 2 weeks to admit that to everyone.

As for why well firstly work got in the way, and then, my heart just isn't in it.

As far as my weight's concerned, i've stopped weighing myself too, but inbetween manic depression, chronic toothache and everything else that's happened I doubt i have TIME to stuff myself full of crap. I don't eat much and if I do it's usually at work.

As for some of that other stuff, well it's not weight related but here goes...

- I bought a house with my sis. We're still waiting on the whole legal stuff but I may finally be able to move out my parents house soon, here's hoping

- i 'celebrated' by 27th Birthday which was pretty much forgotten by almost everyone.

- I've been involved in a love triangle where I've felt attracted to my (now ex) best friend's wife, and she's said she likes me a lot too - I tried to save their marriage, failed, almost ended up in bed with her, and shared a kiss - only to be accused of having a full on affair with her (nothing like that has happened, and never will while she's still married).

- Admitted I'm still madly in love with my ex fiancee, and she loves me too but the long distance aspect makes any prospect of getting together impossible, something I cemented the second I got a mortgage.

You know if I abandoned my morals I'd be having a LOT more fun

Did the SNES version of Cool Spot have that great rave music in the Bonus stage? If so, that was my fave 16Bit tune ever

Other than that, The Airship theme from FF5, and most of FF6's soundtrack would be on my list

Posted on 12-07-06 05:49 PM, in Which is fastest? WiFi, USB 2.0 or Ethernet? Link
My parents have just bought a new computer which, instead of having USB 1.0 ports, has a variety of interesting holes to plug things into, now I intend to reninstall their wireless router on this new computer but I'm wondering which connection will provide the fastest data transfer. Should I use the ethernet cable, the Usb 2.0 cable or buy a wireless adapter and do it that way?

As a sidenote, the com-p has 2 firewire sockets but the router isn;t compatible with firewire, I've heard that's the fastest.

USB 2.0 it is then, it's a 10/100 card.

Thanks for the help, of course this does beg the question, as all computers have Usb ports, why bother putting an ethernet cable in there?
