I once saw a program in television about light therapy. Being exposed to bright light 30 minutes to an hour every day apparently helps against depression. I don't know a whole lot about it, but I found this article: http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20050423/fob7.asp

As I said, I don't know a lot about it, but it might work?

Well, first of all, there's a way to unlock hacks, and second, I can just make the script check whether the hack is locked or not. The real problem would be actually locating the ExGFX in the hack.

Pictures of our SMW Central staff-meeting in Denmark this week! Sadly, BMF and Coby were unable to make it... because they never knew about it... because we didn't invite them.

Smallhacker: Long-haired jerk.
Boom.dk: Jean-wearing jerk.
peter_ac: Short-haired jerk.

Oh, yeah... Click to enlarge...

Smallie: Acmlm's Board and SMW Central on the monitor in the background.
Pete: I'm scared
Boom: I don't know

Smallie: What's that cat doing there?
Pete: Watch that hand, Smalls!
Boom: Hmm, is something touching my ass?

Smallie: Hmm...
Pete: zomg boat
Boom: Why can't Smalls just look normal?
Smallie: That's normal... for me...

Smallie: They told me to smile.
Pete: "I'm sorry I maked you mad"
Boom: Hardy har...

The decompressor has been updated!

New features:
- Can convert 3bpp files to 4bpp.
- Can merge files to AllGFX.bin
- Filenames are now the same as in Lunar Magic.

To see if I could... and to have an OS independant decompressor.

Edit: You can now view the PHP source.

Do anyone of you know of a program that lets you view whatever video that's streamed to the PC through a video capture device? As in, most programs record it. I just want to view it in fullscreen at a decent framerate (50-60 fps). Anyone?

It's a really cool program, but I can't seem to make it do what I need. I don't have a TV tuner card or something. Just regular composite/S-video in. I can broadcast the video over MSN Messenger, record it with movie maker, but I just need to view it in fullscreen.

Yes, but I can't seem to find out how. The only places where I actually get to see the video is if i broadcast it over MSN or record it in Windows Movie Maker and the likes.

To make a long story short, I want to be able to plug a video game console to my video in, and then view it at my monitor as if it was a TV or something.

Does NES count? Because those are easy to open.

Might be, but I had to use violence to get the screws out of my SNES. As in drilling and such. I've seen screwdrivers for those screws in a couple of webshops though.

As for the laptop, if you have the money, get a new one.

I would also help making such a program. If I can, that is. I don't know any programming language but PHP, and my knowledge about SMW is limited. I'm willing to learn, though. And AFAIK C++ and PHP are very alike.

I've never learned much from tutorials, to be honest. Back when it was a mystery to me how webpages could change all the time, I remember downloading a mailer script. At first I just used it, but then I got curious about how it worked, and I opened it up in notepad and began to fiddle with variables and stuff. Then I got really interested in PHP. I got myself a sample guestbook script that used MySQL. At the time, I had no idea what it was. Then using the query strings in that script, I created a login system and many other things. One of the reasons it was possible for me, is that PHP has an excellent online documentation.

I was really interested in making webpages and that was what made me keep going. I remember sitting up many hours past my bed time trying to get stuff to work. That may also be the reason why I haven't learned C++ yet. I've never had anything I really wanted to do.

Anyway, my point is that, to me, at least, it's a lot easier to learn a language when you have something you want to accomplish. Also, should you ever have any questions about PHP, you are more than welcome to ask me, and I'll do my best to help.

If you need a project idea, you could try to do something like a blog or guestbook. Whether you want to use MySQL or not is up to you, but I really recommend it. You'll probably need it later anyway.

I once made a PHP script that generated all colors. 000000 to FFFFFF. And I posted the image in a thread too. But Xk trashed it. I may still have the image laying around at home... if anyone should be interested.

Hmm, it might be so. However, I worked with database stuff before working with files. I just had more use for it. And it's not that complicated.

That's what I thought as well, but I must admit that I'm quite fed up with all that crap posted in our forums and all those ugly hacks.

Too nice would just letting them do whatever they want to without caring, too nasty would be not letting them do anything at all. The medium could be where we are rather strict, but at least give good, constructive criticism, ideas to improvement, etc. I know that's what you're all sick of because it takes so long for them to show any progress.

I know that I've been way too nice with n00bs and I kind of regret it. I still think, however, that the n00b forum was a good idea so they can help eachother instead of us having to answer the same questions all the time.

I like the star idea, but Raccoon Sam's seems very good, as well. I think that I will split hacks into 2 sections, though. On approval hacks should be sorted as either hacks that you actually won't die from playing or utter crap. Then we might need more hack moderators because it would be required to at least play the hacks before deciding.

I dunno, but I totally agree that we've been overrun by shit.
