That fish has big lips.
Also, I've seen a lot of that kind of stuff around. 9.9 Next time you might want to be a little more original. Concept mainly, but also in actually making your own art instead of getting somebody else's work off the internet. |

Originally posted by raar I feel ya. Anyway, I've been looking at this picture for a while and it's well done. I can't say much about your execution because you've pretty much mastered making pixel artwork. The lighting and shading is probably the best part of the piece and it helps it make it even more aesthetically pleasing. The bubble, also, very cool. Right off the bat, however, something bothered me. The perspective is not quite right. Judging from the water, the horizon line should be slightly just above it ( about where the land actually is. ) However, the land is at an even greater angle from the viewer's point of view than the angle on the water. I don't know if I'm actually getting my thoughts across, but the basic idea is that the perspective's screwy ... unless the land formation in the globe is silly as well. .-. Last thing ... the crack with the draining water is a nice touch, but Bernoulli says you have your fluid dynamics represented poorly. The water should actually thin out as it's falling ... just saying. =P Anyway, I wouldn't bother actually making the changes because it would be a hassle, but just keep them in mind for next time you start creating something. Other than that, I can't make any other comments on your stuff because I don't know what you're trying to say or if you even are trying to say something. Technicalities is as far as I can help you. |

Blast to the Past
"Charging" Notes: 1. This piece is over a year old and in poor condition as I constantly disrespect it by beating it up and stealing its lunch money. 2. There does happen to be a tad bit of FLCL influence here, but at the time it was made, I had not actually seen the anime or read the manga only seen the character briefly. 3. This was another experiment in mixing photography with drawing that I delved into while in high school. 4. Please excuse the glare. Bad photography on my part. 5. Once again, please escuse the file size of this thread. The piece is probably also hard to see in some areas. It is actually 12 x 32 or something like that. |

Well ... you know how to trace.
Like I said in your last Art thread, try coming up with something a bit more original. The pen tool ought to be used for greater things. |

I'm thinkin' rematch. Let's go Mich.
Also, Wake Forest is going to Miami. Not a pretty game, but it's still a win. There are oranges all over campus; it's crazy. |

Quadruple post and a bump.
Guster - Ganging Up on the Sun (CD cover design) Notes: 1. Guster ... good band. I'd also like to recommend "Keep it Together." 2. I'm also designing the rest of the CD case, so more to come I suppose. 3. Don't worry. I'll stop posting eventually once I finish my website. Until then, you're going to have to cope with this zombie of an art thread. More to come to your misfortune. |

Teddylot sat at his desks in the depths of the semi-circle auditorium lecture hall. On his desk, were papers piled to the far reaches of the ceiling where the fan letters and improperly addressed "Ask Grey" or "Ask Danielle" letters were having nice chats with the roof tiles, sprinkler heads, and those fancy lights. The stacks of paper conveniently hid Teddylot from view as he did his best to catch up on the vast amount of letters sent to him over break.
The teddy bear adjusted his monocles and read over a handful of letters. He then set them down and began to write letters in reply. To Anya: I am currently home, yes. Beware, the skittles on the ground are most likely old traps I set in order to capture ravagging racoons and Waddler-Dees. If you find yourself hanging upside down or without a limb or two, that would be why. My skittles. To Forte.EXE: Poor grammar. Can't answer. To Dracoon's pal: I recommend ... a Noah. To Kirbynite: Sounds like fun, bucko. Get it started or ... I ... will. ((Not a threat.)) |

Why do I hear commentators say that Michigan is going to lose to USC?
Why? Losing is not on the Wolverine's menu. Only roses! |

King’s Cross was a hubbub of folk as usual, but it seemed a bit more crowded than it usually is at this time in the morning. There were more trunks being lugged around than was common, but the anonymous mass of commuters passed it off as merely a rush of boarding school children off to their first semester of classes. The massive amount of owls that accompanied the trunks, however, struck them as slightly odd on the scale of weird. A new fad perhaps. Or perhaps owls were found to be better at getting rid of mice than cats are. Even so, there were a handful of cats roaming around as well.
Twister noticed this, but then again he was just relating as he had an owl himself. However, he didn’t quite understand how Zap, his traveling companion, convinced him to get one. In fact, he wasn’t quite sure what he was doing in the heart of the England … home of tea and football and not the home of toothbrushes. Both boys stood aside of the moving traffic and both had been lugging around huge suitcases full of the oddest list of things. But the things surpassed the list in weirdness. Twister: So Zap, what are we doing here again? Zap pulled the headphones off of his ears and hung them around his neck. Zap: Say again? Twister was losing a bit of his patience during the downtime of … doing nothing. Twister: *a bit louder* WHAT are we doing here? And WHAT are we waiting for? Zap remained cool. He happened to actually have a problem with worrying. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t worry. The young boy adjusted his glasses and flipped his hair out of his eyes. Admittedly, both he and Twister had some pretty roguish long hair. Twister’s hair was in dreadlocks though. Zap: We’re going to school. Twister: Yeah, I know that much. Some whacky school for “witchcraft and wizardry.” Zap: That’s right. I got a scholarship, so we’re going. From one of the trunks came a muffled voice. ???: I got a scholarship, too. Twister: Shut up, Bear! *places his foot on top of the trunk* Your not supposed to be out or heard in public. ???: Just ‘cause you didn’t g-- Twister: But wait, why are we not “getting” on the train to “go” to this stupid school? Zap: ‘Cause I’m still looking for the platform. Twister: *looks around* Shouldn’t it be clearly marked? Zap: *flips his hair out of his eyes* Unless you can spot a “Platform Nine and Three Quarters” … no. Twister scrutinized the area around him for the first time since they arrived at the station. To his right was platform nine … and to the left was ten. Twister: So, you figure somewhere between these two? Zap: Yeah. Twister: … trippy. Zap had been dealing with the three quarters business in his mind since he was notified of the platform number a while back. But he eventually decided that observation was the key to solving the riddle. After all, they wouldn’t be the only ones going to school on this train. He was pretty sure every student had to take it. But so far, he’d missed something … and then he saw it. He had just missed a pair of twins … disappearing at a barrier. Pretty clever. No unconcerned bystanders would ever take enough notice to actually notice the sudden disappearances of such students. Especially with the rest of their day ahead of them. Zap notified Twister of what the trick was and both positioned themselves in front of the barrier. Done in a nonchalant fashion, but inconspicuous was hard to pull off with an owl and two trunks. Still, no one seemed to notice this, and again, no one seemed to notice their sudden disappearance through the barrier to the mysterious platform nine and three quarters. |

The train was on its way. The iron horse wasn’t like any modern train for it was reminiscent of westward expansion and the industrial revolution. Steam filled the station as the train hit the tracks and mulled to a stop in front of the impatient students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Once to a full stop, the ticket collectors step off of the train to welcome those who were crowding to get on.
Zap and Twister had past experiences with such mobs and decided to take a seat on an open park bench until everything settled down. Zap: Hmm … Teddylot’s been kinda quiet. He might’ve run out of oxygen. Twister: I hope he died. Zap unlocked his trunk and opened it to find that it was full … of the stuff he had bought in Diagon Alley. Teddylot was nowhere to be found. Zap: Hmm … he escaped. Twister: BREAK OUT THE NETS!!! We’re going on a bear hunt. Zap: We’re gonna catch a small one. Twister: We're not scared. Zap: Uh oh … it’s a train. Twister: We can’t go over it. We can’t go under it. We can’t go around it. Zap: We must go inside it. |

The hustle and bustle was a tad less now. Most of the children were now boarding or had already found open compartments to share with new friends. The only things left standing on the platform were random tumbleweeds, sorrowing mothers, comforting fathers, and Twister and Zap. Being as patient as they are, they could wait and do nothing for hours for a prime moment like this. They could climb aboard the train without any fuss, without any commotion, and with plenty of time.
The two new Hogwarts students wheeled their cart as close to the train as possible and began to load their luggage onto the train. Neither of them had many personal belongings which kept their trunks light enough for them to easily lug them around. They quickly boarded the train. They did not stop to look back at the platform. There was no reason to look back. ----- Teddylot, on the other hand, had already found himself a new friend. He suddenly popped out of nowhere, sitting across from a quiet, silver-haired boy while mindlessly staring in his direction. The bear just stood there quietly, swinging his legs back and forth. Teddylot: Hello. |

Teddylot: I’m a bear … of the teddy type. What are you?
Twister: THERE HE IS!!! GET THE BEAR!!! Twister and Zap dashed into the open compartment with their nets equipped giving them +5 agility. It didn’t help too much though Teddylot was quick though. He had already started climbing up onto the luggage rack in an attempt at a daring escape. The two were about to get a good net on the bear when the train gave a sudden lurch. The train was on its way. The lurch sent everyone standing in the compartment flying … right into the silver-haired boy. Teddylot took his advantage. The bear jumped over the confusion underneath him and darted outside of the compartment. Twister: HE’S GETTING AWAY!!! Zap: Cal—oof—m down. We have to—oof!! Zap couldn’t get out what he wanted to say. There was plenty of pushing and shoving amongst the three boys in an attempt to get out of the entanglement. Twister was the first to escape. He made for the compartment down soon after Teddylot did, but was tripped up by the frame of the door. He lost his footing and slammed straight into the slide door opposite him. This didn’t faze him though. He bounced off the door and his best attempt at an off-balance sprint to go after the bear. Zap was a bit more composed. Once Twister was off and running, he calmly separated himself from the poor kid and brushed himself off. He then readjusted his misaligned headphones, shifted his hoodie back into position, and brushed his hair out of his eyes. Zap: *while making his way out of the compartment* Sorry, Kid. The train has a small teddy bear infestation. Horrible really. But don’t worry, we have everything *breath* under control. Zap brushed his hair out of his eyes again and, with his net in his hands, jogged down the rest of the car. |
