On all manner of web sites I go to in lololol I see Flash movies replaced by text telling me to use the latest version of Flash. That'd be fine if not for the fact that I already have the latest version! Any site that uses the FlashObject in javascript seems to fail. I have FlashBlock installed, but disabling it doesn't do any good. On some sites I can just copy the URL it points to and view it that way, but that doesn't work when they add parameters within the script.

Hm, where in Canada? There's some really nice places here, and also some places you'll want to avoid. (Especially if you don't like cold. )

Almost.

if($thread["lastposterid"]==$loguser["id"]) { $new = ''; }

You need quotes outside of a string.

The only problem there really is with post counts is that deleting posts doesn't decrease them. Other than that, who cares?

Can you change the physics? Golf in space (not in a space station) or underwater could be fun.

Also, F-Zero's level format is way simpler than OoT's.

No, the real hardware always runs in either NTSC or PAL mode, and if you get it to start a game from the other region, it just doesn't work very well.

Yeah, my HP desktop overheated (the fans it came with weren't enough to keep it cool ), and it would just reboot without notice when it got too hot.

Motherboard Monitor 5 will probably tell you how your CPU is doing temperature-wise. My Sempron 2200 averages around 30°C when idle, but that's in a desktop, so your mileage may vary. (It was actually 40°C before I updated the BIOS. )

Yes, that was one thing I really didn't like about MKDS at first. The game handles very different than other Mario Kart games, so once you've got used to it, you suck at the rest.

Hm, on the subject of GBC emulators, what's a good emu for Windows that has a powerful debugger? I know of No$GMB and bgb. No$ has suddenly decided that it's both the free version and an illegal copy of the full version at the same time; when I start it, sometimes it says my registration is invalid, other times it runs but then complains later (tells me the free version can't use symbolic information or breakpoints in GBC mode, even when I'm not using symbolic information or GBC mode). bgb's interface just really really sucks, often deadlocking itself, which makes it pretty much unuseable. So I'm out of ideas...

Well I'm not an expert on SNES, but I don't think the real hardware uses that byte at all; it's more for Nintendo's development tools and programmers. It doesn't need to know whether the game is NTSC or PAL, it just assumes every game is a given region. They're designed such that NTSC carts don't fit in PAL systems and vice-versa (though this can be defeated fairly easily). If you do manage to put a PAL game in an NTSC SNES, it will either run at the wrong speed, or the game will detect that it's an NTSC system and refuse to run at all.
AFAIK, you can switch which region the console will run in by rewiring a few things, but it won't automatically detect the game's region and switch itself. To do that you'd need to build in a bootROM and some extra logic to allow the region to be changed in software. (IIRC, d4s did this.)

Honestly I can't see myself using it much until it can edit polygons anyway. Maybe for a simple spoof hack.

Maybe you could make a course based on Hyrule Field from OoT. Or something weird like golf on a giant baseball field.

New Super Mario Bros = fun. Also, DS homebrew is pretty awesome (play movies and music and stick it in PSP fanboys' faces) and piss-easy to do. (Nintendo barely even cares; no modding involved, you can keep playing online, etc.)

You need a NoPass which is sort of like a mod chip in the form of a DS card; the most popular is Max Media Launcher, it's only $20 US. Then you need either a GBA flash cart or a CF/SD adapter. M3 and Supercard can play GBA ROMs; GBA Media Player is cheaper, but can only play homebrew (up to 4MB NDS and 256K GBA). If you want you can install FlashMe (a hacked DS firmware), then you don't need the NoPass anymore and can do whatever you want with it; it also protects you from having the firmware corrupted.

The best way to do the title is to change the name, and add your name and the year of the hack under or above Nintendo's copyright text.

Hey, speaking of which, how big will the ROM be? I have a few 128K flash ROMs and a broken SMB3 cart laying around. Will I need a bigger flash chip?
