| Are you guys serious?
Guys, you're forgetting the unforgettable! BONETAIL from Thousand-Year Door! First of all, he's at the VERY bottom of the Pit of 100 Trials, which takes over an hour to get to and you CAN'T save your game the whole time... Then the boss himself has 250 HP and 2 Defense, while the real Final Boss has 150... like, 6 kinds of 8-damage breath-weapons WITH added status effects, a charging-up attack for 20 damage, his occasional claw stomp, AND the power to heal 30 HP WHENEVER he wants. Look, I had like 3 partners left alive, no items, no Star energy, no Flower, and like 5 HP for Mario by the end of that battle-- and Ms. Mowz of all things made the killing blow! Yes, everyone was fully powered-up, but even at Level 3 Ms. Mowz's normal attack is weak as Hell. Thank God for it's ability to penetrate Defense. Oh yes... I remember, the reason I had her out is because of her ability to heal Mario. That's why I ran out of Flower. God, that was a hard fight! I would've been SO mad if I died, 'cause I would've had to do the WHOLE Pit over again from the beginning. You get an excellent, rare badge for your victory, though-- I think it was Reverse Package or something like that. It offered permenant Spite status condition, returning half-damage to anyone who ever attacks Mario. It cost too much to put on, but the satisfaction from finally defeating The Pit was a much bigger reward. ...Ah, what a great game. |

Something hits Yinns dead-on at an unbelievable velocity and drops to the ground. Yinns clutches his right ribcage, startled and unnerved, as he bends down to examine what it was that hit him... "Kupo...!? It's a bullet! ...Good thing my Silicon Vest is bulletproof, but that HURT." Yinns is too afraid to make any sudden movements at this point. Slowly he removes a strange, ornate, miniature treasure chest from a highly hidden compartment in his coat under his vest... "Initiate Pandora: M27- Red Ingot," he whispers to the box. After a 3 second delay, the box opens a crack, and intense, scarlet rays of light pour out of the opening. If Doe sees this, that character would know for sure that his/her job is far from finished... After a few seconds of the light rays, everything turns a shade of red as an area within a 75-foot radius of Yinns is coated in a sheet of eerie, shade-changing red light. Now Doe DEFINITELY would notice. Finally, on the back of the box, three colored numbers light up on the black lines, cycling from all possible two-digit numbers at a very fast rate... These numbers will soon determine the fate of both Yinns AND Doe, and the situation could go either way. OOC: Reminder: I never cheat on my RNG rolls. One roll for each of the 3 Random Numbers is all I allow myself for per Pandora, unless I choose to use the once-a-battle Tech Data Hack. Profile for more info. |

| OOC: Well, here's my first Pandora... Sheesh, I already manage to roll a 1. Fun.
Magna: 5 Aura: 1 ---Critical--- Halflife: 8 The numbers finally stop cycling, and thanks to the power of the Pandora they are instantly displayed in Yinns's mind. Another full second later, it strikes. The red light suddenly flashes white like a strobelight three times in succession, and there is a sound like a space vaccum as both Yinns and Doe are instantly delivered a below-average Non-Elemental damage attack from literally out of nowhere at the same instant. Avoiding the damage by ANY physical means, be it dodging or armor, is completely impossible. The only way to dodge a Pandora is a perfectly timed, highly advanced special/magic ability. That makes it pretty useful, but since there's always the chance of missing the intended target or hurting oneself with any Pandora, these Techs are extremely unreliable in a jam. It was used, though, for it's potential to hit. Since Aura hit 1, no matter how far away from Yinns Doe is, he/she is targeted by this move... but on a 1, it's the same way for Yinns. Magna hitting 5 means the attack is rather weak, and Halflife has no effect whatsoever with particularly Red Ingot unless it's 10. Yinns recoils from his own attack, wincing. "Okay, come on out, kupo!" The bullet streaks right over his head, startling him. He nearly falls over. "Are you trying to kill me, kupo!? Come on! Show yourself! Don't make me roll another Pandora, ya hear me?" Hopefully this tactic won't get himself shot again. |

| First of all, I thought about putting this in Modern Art, but considering the format of this and, more importantly, the unusual content, I figured I'd stick it here. If someone thinks this should be moved, by all means have at it...
Anyway! It just so happens that one day, while Dracoon and I were discussing stuff in PMs once again, we ended up talking about computers-- and I ended up writing THIS. Be warned: You read this, I'll probably look like a twisted creep to you. Still, it felt good to get written down, so here ya go... | Since the Well is nonexistant where Yinns is standing, since it's the eye, the hammer attack is only slightly boosted, and Yinns jumps backwards to avoid it. It startled him, though, and he fell down for a moment, getting back up in a jiffy.
Keeping the Well in place, he aims the Coil Knuckles again at the now weakened armor and fires both fists, one at a time, square in the chest. Hopefully the blows will be enough to shatter his stone chestplate and expose a weak-point. The Well stays in effect, but Yinns will have to shut it off in another turn or there will be system malfunctions due to overheating. "And that solid rock armor and weapon are only 1/10th of what you can carry, hm? You must be kupo strong! ...Back in my home country, gravity magic fell under the category of time magic. It still does in some other places, kupo." |

| "Wait a sec'... I recognize his energy signature."
Schwa thrust-casts his right arm straight sideways, releasing etheral energy. "Psi Mirror." (echo effects) The ether splits into four shapes, which instantly flatten into etheral sheets and harden, becoming silver mirrors coated in blue ether. They get in the way of Alia's projectiles, weakening and deflecting them, but Schwa gets rid of them entirely (so they don't hurt anyone) by heading them off and letting them hit his ether-coated body. He turns to Alia. "S'alright, this one's another ally. Trust me on this. Although... it seems rather strange that he'd choose to show up HERE, of all places... Kire and Zeron, greet him first in case I'm mistaken, would ya?" Schwa stares sincerely at Alia for a second before turning his attention to the teleporter, and prepares for Cappa's appearance, confident that his judgement is correct this time... |

| Yinns hoped wrong. PANG! The bullet lands a hit on Yinns's right shoulder, and he feels the sting a little harder without the full protection of his vest. His coat, though, is partially sewn with diamond-fibers mixed in with the normal material, providing decent, though rather low compared to chain mail, armor against physical attacks.
"That's IT. I saw you up there! I'm comin' up to end this, kupo! Initiate Moogle Barrier." With the command, a computer program in the Vest whirs to life, as a blue dome of energy with the appearance of a wavy pool materializes from the tip of the dome down, surrounding Yinns. It continues to surround Yinns as he quickly makes his way up the hill, where he was sure he saw Doe hiding and firing... "Better do this quickly before I gotta shut 'er off," Yinns thinks. |

The time sliding effect catches him a little off guard, and he doesn't manage a full dodge. As he tries to sidestep, half of the firey cross nails him right in the chest. Panic strikes him for a split-second at the feeling it provides, and though physical pain doesn't last as long for Diaxos as it does for humans, it's still a little more than he can usually bear. "Augh, it burns, it burns! ...Hahhh, good tactic... Alright! Dynamo 2!" Once again the sword's runes glow as it absorbs the last two green wisps. Diaxos then thrusts the katana forward. It suddenly crackles with electricity as five large spheres of thunder form around it. Then they are fired in a volley, one at a time but in the manner of a cannon, right into Jack, each one carrying average Electric damage. This attack can potentially be very powerful if they all hit, but the spheres are fired at a medium-fast speed and just move in a straight line, and although Diaxos aims at Jack the whole time, dodging shouldn't be too hard if Jack is careful. "This guy certainly likes to cause immense pain when he attacks!" Diaxos thinks. "I've never seen a battle strategy like that before. | OOC: Yes, the AI controlling the Coil Knuckles automatically chooses the flight path that will be the most efficient.
"Shutdown Jupiter Well." In 3 seconds, gravity around Yinns has returned to normal. Yinns has a new tactic in mind. "Gravity certainly is a fascinating mystery. So is friction, kupo. Initiate: Zodiac Slick." Yinns aims his arms at the ground in front of him, and out of tiny turrets above his wrists and hidden under his sleeves shoot a black, shiny substance. In only a few seconds, the ground right in front of Yinns-- and surrounding Rin-- is coated in a thick layer of extra slippery oil. Yinns takes some steps back as a precaution. "Once again, I remind you... Don't fall or you won't get up. Ku-PO!" |

Ripples form in the energy barrier as the bullets impact it, not breaching it. Yinns is safe, and now it's time for revenge. Though, Yinns will soon find out that the attack did more than he thought... "Kupo!! Gotcha now!" Yinns holds his fists slightly out and lowered, as amber-colored, steel Knuckles slide out of the sleeves and fit perfectly over his fists. He wastes no time as he thrusts his right fist outward, and the Knuckles on that fist shoot off, streaming a tail of bright flame as the rocket-powered punch attempts to slam right into Doe's chest. The attack should cause above-average Physical damage if it hits, and return right to Yinns's fist thanks to an AI system no matter the results. More interestingly is the hole that opened up in the barrier for about 1 second as the Knuckles shot forward and returned to him. Right after the attack, Yinns hears a triple beep come from the vest. "Crap!" he thinks, "That gun attack plus my Rocket Knuckles... I should've known an overheat was possible..." The vest hasn't overheated yet, but unless Yinns plays his cards juuuuust right on his next move, Yinns may actually sustain damage from his own equipment. |

| "Glad you guys made it back in one piece," Schwa says to them with approval. "You too, Cappa. Last I heard you got involved with cleaning out a Lunar Wasp infestation in Huju Seven. Whoof, that gives me the willies. We're all in the middle of a game of chess here, and if you're not busy, your help would be highly appreciated.
"First of all, there's this being named Shadow. If I recall correctly, it was either one of you or your thoughts that stated that this character has been killed countless times but revives himself each time. Forte and I had a short battle and discovered that Holy energy will obliterate him. So... I say it would seem a wiser descision to allow me to combat him 1-on-1 while you guys try and at least locate Sonance. After all, as the Living Assets empower me, it is my given destiny to annihlate the forces of darkness. In turn, I specialize in fighting his kind... so the battle should go pretty quickly, even if he is a pretty advanced fighter. What do you say to that idea?" Schwa's ether flares up again, almost in response to his own speech. |

Then the question. "Huh? Oh... From what I've gathered, it is their teachings that souls are impossible to destroy. Generally a soul is supposed to be aware of a LOT more than the physical mind, so when the body dies and the soul gets it's own mind back... I dunno, it seems pretty complicated! But when I meet one, I'll be sure to ask 'em..." He holds his weapon up again. "Something's telling me to withhold my attack for a while. | After the hit, the balcony begins to regenerate itself in a jiffy. But Janus is due for another message, and this one ain't from Schwa...
"Ah, Janus, is it? Schwa already seems to know you. Schwa is a pathetic fool, though, as you probably know... Anyone ripped from the Spiritual Plane in such a manner without the right kind of protection would instantly become saturated with Evil chakra. You don't fool anyone, whelp of darkness. Prepare to die." The voice sounds sinister itself, but it's definitely a Psi Warrior-- one that just silently teleported 12 feet behind Janus. He is dressed in the traditional white, loose clothes and black blindfold, but his skin is grey with soft scales and his ears stick out like a Hyrulian man's. He stands in an unusual Psi Warrior stance, hands flaring with dark-blue ether mixed with streaks of magenta ether (giving it a truly weird look), and preparing to launch an attack... "Watch out for Slate, Janus. From my calculations he should learn his lesson pretty soon, but still. I'll be there very soon, but I have little energy and teleportation can't be done from such a distance anymore... Hang on." Schwa contacts Sensae next, and after a small conversation, the main door opens wide to reveal a very, very old man that looks like a mix between a Psi Warrior and Gandalf. "Janus. ...It is an honor to have you back. And it feels wonderful to be out of that high chamber I always reside in, too..." It's Sensae, no doubt about it. Schwa takes an unusual stance for a moment, seeming to conentrate in that time. It's merely a quick prayer to Sensae that nobody can hear but him. "Let me demonstrate, if I may. I assume your HQ is equipped with a virtual training arena... You wanna program it to give me a Demon to fight? I've killed decently powerful vampires in ONE HIT before, and they never rose again thanks to the nature of this Ether. C'mon, let's go training, I'll show you!" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Sensae! A creature with an Evil energy reading is approaching the HQ through hyperspace!" A very, very old man looking like a cross between a Psi Warrior and Gandolf stands at the pinnacle chamber of Crystal Psipalace, looking thoughtful... "I know that, child of the Assets. Tell all Psi Warriors to withold all attacks until my command. I would like to teach him one of life's lessons by my own hand." "You mean you'll actually fight!?" "Verbally, yes. Never underestimate the power of words and wisdom." "...." |

Schwa had followed Forte into the virtual room. "Just as long as Alia and those Navis actually witness this. I do have a point to make, after all. Bring this up on their screen or something," he sends back to Forte. Schwa's body explodes with etheral energy as he leaps straight up into the air, above the beast, assuming a hovering stance. "Too bad you're virtual... I was hoping you'd actually FEEL the pain! Here it comes!" Schwa backs up into the air at an angle, changing his floating position and rapidly charging up etheral energy for a few seconds... He then takes off, streaking down towards the demon like a comet come to Earth. As he approaches the demon's chest, he swings his fist in a deadly arc in front of him. The ether he emits would be unbelievably corrosive to such an advanced being of Evil, and the motion is potent to cut right through it's body, meaning the Psi Warrior would actually rip through it's chest and back, puncturing through to the other side with this attack. If it works, Schwa would land behind the punctured demon and turn around, preparing to finish it off with another move... "Live quickly, die slowly," he whispers out of Forte's hearing. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Botos, child of the cyber war-gods... I welcome you to the presence of the Assets." Sensae's voice comes in such a way that it could make anyone feel safe and peaceful. "I am Sensae, "Host of the Assets". You have come to this place because you seek the Living Assets. You will find them here, and I will give you what you are looking for... but this will only be so if you know that it is your soul that craves this power, not your body. Is that fair, child?" After he finishes speaking, Botos can easily feel an immense power like no other coming from Sensae's soul. This, of course, is Sensae's doing. Some other Psi Warriors have entered the room by now and are standing back from the two of them, letting them have their conversation... OOC: I think you'll enjoy this part to come.  |

Yinns notices two things-- the earth discs, which he is rather impressed by, and the fact that the hill has caused the oil to slide down around HIM. But as the discs approach, he instinctively takes a step back-- right on the oil, falls backward, and takes all hits. Without time to get up yet, he whips a trinket out of nowhere that looks strangely like a tiny, ornate box. "Initiate Pandora: Q83- Violet Dial," he says into it. Suddenly it shines brilliantly with purple light-rays, emitting a slowly higher and higher pitched hum... On the back of the box, on the black stripe lights up 3 colored double-digit integers that cycle through all it's possible combinations without stopping... Yinns feels the energy building up, knowing a powerful attack is on it's way in only a few seconds... |

| "Feels like a tickle, really."
Schwa stands upright, letting the dark beam slam right into him. It has almost no effect on him whatsoever, doing the smallest amount of HP damage thinkable and not even causing him to flinch. Schwa's 96% resistance to Dark energy certainly comes in handy at times like these. But Schwa's barely started. First he uses ether to form a funnel facing outward from Schwa to the demon, then he releases a powerful blast of ether forward into the beam-- then psychically splits it. Instantly, a massive amount of raw Holy energy combines with the dark beam, resulting in a giga-sized Chaos explosion-- that is directed by the ether funnel into the shape of an enormous beam that coats the demon for several seconds, never even nicking Schwa! Even by his own standards, Schwa is impressed by his own combo. He blows an almost arrogant kiss to the camera that the others are watching the fight through. "God, I love my job." If that didn't finish him off, Schwa thinks, not much else would... "Don't worry about that. Sensae never makes mistakes. Sometime I'll take you to Crystal Psipalace so you can see firsthand." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sensae turns the immense energy off. "As I said before, you WILL find what you are looking for, and it is right here in this Palace... or rather, right inside you already. For it is the power of Good itself, which is always, ALWAYS stronger than the power of Evil. And Good lies within you as well as the Evil, Botos. Through prayer and meditation through your light half, you may find the Assets. But you may end up giving up part of yourself in the process. Think about that. After all, you have plenty of time-- I have disabled your portal-opening abilities for 24 hours." The gathered Psi Warriors break out into chatter and laughter. Sensae waves them down. "Or... am I bluffing? You may want to try and see... but if it actually works, you will never come back again, and likewise you will never find the Assets you search for. I suggest you think about THAT, too." Sensae smiles and the Psi Warriors cheer dramatically. Then the pipe down, allowing Botos to possibly add any comments of his own he wishes to add. Either way, Botos may indeed find the Living Assets-- but if Sensae has anything to say about it, the process is gonna make him into a Psi Warrior, which will put a knife across both Sonance's and his own plans. Sensae has always enjoyed the freedom his powers provide him, being the physical representation of the Assets themselves and all. OOC: If you think I should edit this, PM me. |

| Slate is completely silent in regards to Janus's comment. At about this time, Schwa manages to teleport to the palace. Several Psi Warriors are standing around nearby, consisting of all the Psi Warriors in the Palace; most of them were apparently on missions. (At this time of night, undead is ripe for the killing.)
Schwa approaches Janus, but something stops him in his tracks, and he grows tense. "Janus? ...You're... emitting a very peculiar energy signature... Anyways, I'm here, so by all means tell me the news, but don't get too close until I adjust to that energy. Nothing personal." Meanwhile, Sensae smiles, knowing that something pretty big is going to happen in the near future... starting with this very moment. |

| "Sure, I'm comin'," Schwa says, catching up to Forte. "I'll even tell you guys some of my strategies in case you need to know. First off let me say that my ability to take only 4% of any Darkness-based attack certainly comes in handy. Against your Hell's Rolling, though, I'd still go with a barrier, because your attack would still manage to at least knock me down."
He gets back into the main room just in time to hear Marino's comment. "Hey, I'm back! I heard something involving ether replacing sunlight... That would work, but it would need to be timed a certain way. Ether doesn't work quite the same as sunlight because sunlight is powered with Nature energy, which is combined with other elements to give it a similar effect to Holy energy, which is why it kills vampires and Wights and Wraiths and such. So, all I'd need to do is bring out my purple arm before supplying the Ether. ...Forte knows what I mean by that..." Something snaps. "Do you think I could use one of your lesser computers-- one with Internet access? Sensae's voice thunders through the whole Palace with the ferocity of the most magestic lion. It is powerful enough to stop Botos, Shadow, and EVERY Psi Warrior there from moving. In a flash, Sensae has warped right in front of Shadow and thrust his palm into his chest. It's not an attack and does no damage, but his contact with Shadow allows Shadow to instantly realize his deepest fears, especially combined with what Sensae has to say... "You are a demon. But you have courage, for you voluntarily come face to face with the Assets themselves to do your duty. But you will be damned for eternity should you not choose light over darkness. I will give you TEN seconds to leave the Palace, or you will instantly die and your soul will be locked in a personal prison I have prepared for you in the Etheral Dimension-- for all eternity." He lets him go. "ONE. TWO..." And starts counting... Sensae then plays another telepathic tactic, sending a message to Shadow but not in words-- Shadow should now realize exactly how powerful the Assets-- and Sensae-- are. They are, in fact, more than twice as powerful than all of the holiest Gods and Goddesses put together, and the fully un-hindered thought of this truth is usually enough to make anyone with Evil in their hearts, or even Psi Warriors for that matter, fall to their knees, screaming and crying. All the Psi Warriors in the Palace don't dare breathe. OOC: For plot reasons, I suggest Shadow gets the hell outta there. |

Diaxos crouches, as two of the Blue DChakra are absorbed by Chaosmusket, and... "Sonic Dash!" He breaks the sound barrier from a standstill, shooting forward, up at an angle! Out of the range of the brambles, he stops for a split-second in midair and, with a flash of blue light and a burst of raw mana, he changes direction, streaking like a comet towards the growing portal, and when he reaches it, his sword cuts it once with unbelievable speed, at the same time bringing Diaxos to a complete stop where he attacked. The attack should dispel the portal once again, and put Diaxos very close to Jack after his attack. Diaxos gets up and lowers his weapon, staring sincerely at Jack. "NOT while I'm around. It just wouldn't be right. If you're desperate to cause chaos, you either need to find a way to do it... or just talk it out with someone. Hey, I'll always be there for you to do that, ya know... C'mon, is something troubling you? ...You can tell me, Jack." Diaxos has forgotten all about the Psi Warriors for now. All he wants to do right now is help this troubled person he met in the graveyard one day. Stopping the portal earned him one more green DChakra, which now orbits his blade. DChakra @ @ |
