*waves* Hello. My name's Colin. I'm sure a lot of you missed me over the past few days, and I *thought* that I was gone because of DSL problems.
|
That's a half-truth. The truth is that my DSL was wonky, but it wasn't because of my ISP. Flash back to Thursday. My parents got a new portable phone and plugged it in and all that. Perfect. No problem. It never occurred to me that the new phone and the net problems were related. So after pulling my hair out from Thursday until this morning, I passed by the new phone this morning and paused. I pushed some stuff out of the way to get to the phone jack... and noticed the problem. You see, when you're running a DSL connection, you have to place filters on the phones. Granted, if you have a fantastic connection, you might be able to get away with it, but just one phone plugged in without a filter can have disasterous consequences. ...of course, this phone did NOT have a filter in it. I unplug the phone, wait 5 minutes and my modem finally stops losing sync. The moral of the story: Don't trust parents to plug in phones when you're not around to suggest these obvious things. So yeah. I'm back. Expect a spree later.

Thank you for keeping the thread stable while I was gone, Danielle.

I'll tally everything up tonight when I post the results. If you had posts deleted that cost you the win during that time, TS.

So that's one of the (apparently) twenty Revolution titles set to go at launch.

You can't fault Nintendo for not trying, that's for sure. (restricted) | (restricted) |

Reading the TEXT on that memo is even worse because they want these games to be good as stuff like Halo or Forza Motorsport.
|
I mean, it's nice and all to end up with an above-average game you can sell for $5 and that might be worth the money, but the bar might be a tad high.

Nope. Have absolutely no desire to, really. :\ I'm not going to bitch out anyone who does it or anything like that, just as long as you don't try to pressure me. |

Um... I actually like the new format. I mean, certain changes are expected but the site looks nice and streamlined.
|
It's a matter of personal preference I suppose. The main function of the site's the same, so...

The GameFAQs poll today really surprised me because it's a simple browser poll... and even though this likely doesn't apply to the entire site's population, 53% (at last check) use lololol or one of its variants.

Microsoft has some pretty high standards to live up to come IE7's release. (restricted) |

Emptyeye: True. But even THEN the bar's still a wee bit too high.

BK's lawyers or whatever told Kotaku to take the image down and Kotaku basically told them to get lost. I <3 Kotaku. And as far as good free game promotions go... cereal boxes. I'm sure the States has gotten them, but once a year or so in Canada several cereals have free games - and they display which game on the front of the box so you don't end up with 50 copies of Scrabble. But some of the games they've distributed aren't bad at all... Monopoly Tycoon, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, etc. Usually there's 6 games, 2-3 of them are kids games and the others are for all ages. Better than most promotions.

Plus Lara's in the gaming Hall of Fame while Samus isn't.
|
To be fair, the Lara Croft character itself is an important part of gaming history... but not without several drawbacks. Specifically, a huge bunch of above-average to crappy games which only NOW (you know, after they almost killed the franchise) seems to be turning around.

Square Enix does that sometimes with big games, though. It's just another way to cash in, but it's proven to be an effective one since it's like a special edition, basically. |

Well, you can't force her to get over it. I mean, if your mom's racist, then that *is* a terrible character trait to have... but you can't force her to change her ways.
|
It's basically playing the acceptance card in your case. They basically can't dictate who you can/can't be together with, and even if they have to resent the fact that she's of a different race... they still have to accept it. That sounds like a horribly complex sentence, so I'll just sum it up... you make decisions about the friends you have and the girlfriend you want. Not them.

...The first two, or the first one + Legend? (Because Legend HAS gotten good reviews. Not mind-blowing ones, but the general consensus is that it's a decent game and saves the franchise.) |

Disch: It was a pirate cart, no question about it. It was... how can I put this... it looked like a Nintendo cart. It had a neat Mario picture on the front and was named something like "Mario 2". And the cart had a weird dark red ribbon protruding from the front of it for some strange reason.
|
That's ALSO how I got to play SMB3 before it was released, by the way. Same type of pirate cart basically.

See, that makes perfect sense. And to be fair, I can't see any reason why lololol users would bitch about the new layout, really.
|
Kyouji: Well, that is true. But it seems that lololol is the Mozilla-based browser of choice among the variants, so...

It's not ugly at all. It's just different. I like it, but the reaction's mixed... *shrugs* Better to have a mixed reaction than a horrid one.

"Some big time contributors were even seemingly bribed free premium service so that they would stay." ...On one hand, that's just sad. (And premium service would only apply at the moment to GameSpot, I think. Wouldn't mind no ad-nagging screens though.) ...On the other hand, I'd take that offer. |
