Yay, no coming home from school on Wednesdays in the dark.

Danielle: Actually, it's basically since you were talking about work probably making you finish 3rd and not 2nd. So on a day where you COULD have made up ground with 74 posts... it didn't work out.

There's a fun project... looking up your namesake's hurricane/cyclone/etc. if it exists.

*checks Wikipedia*

"Colin is a future name on the hurricane name list; it will first be used in 2010 to replace Charley."

WOO-HOO! Can't wait.

Ping Pals is now routinely on sale at certain stores for under $10. I saw it advertised once online at $5.99.

That should tell you how much of a failure it is; I mean, Pictochat's FREE and you wanted people to pay $30 for a ripoff of it?

It's funny since I did a check online and I easily meet the minimum requirements to run the game. I'll probably end up playing with textures/all that and getting a good result in the end, but it's a lot of legwork.

The game actually looks NICE in 800x600 but I dunno if that translates well into 640x480. Only one way to find out...

You find one of those prototype copies that are floating around for $1,000 a pop or something like that. XD

I'd like to play that proto one day though... I remember VG&CE magazine doing a feature on it and it looked VERY good.

I've made up my mind never to work in food service or anything like that but it probably depends a lot on location as well. If you're lucky enough to get a job at a place that is never really busy and just has a steady stream of clients with no real rushes or anything, it's probably better. Getting a job at a mall restaurant where there's always people standing in line... not so much.

Oh geez, I think all of those that I had were thrown out or given away...

Still, another great little diversion from the norm. Like I said, there were (and are) some really good magazines out there for us kids who wanted to learn and have fun doing so.

Ailure: Actually, I wouldn't want Colin to be a destructive Category 5 hurricane with Katrina-like effects.

The reason? Colin would then be retired as a name because they do that to really damaging hurricanes that cause a lot of death and that. Bastards.

I don't think that King's Quest can be considered an RPG, so I'll bump this over to General Gaming. It has some RPG elements in the sense that it's set in an extremely well-detailed fantasy world, but it's a graphic adventure, plain and simple.

King's Quest VI was the only one I played but it was fantastic; aside from some insanely difficult puzzles. That block one where you had to go up the mountain... URGH. (Oh, and the Minotaur's labyrinth. Yeah.)

Worked on or is working on? Because isn't SC4 the next one in the (extremely long) series? (Unless that part of the programming's already done with, I dunno.)

I just hope he gets a free copy of the game for his efforts.

Earthquakes are a lot less common than hurricanes, though. It's just that when one of them hits... well, they could be a *little* more destructive than hurricanes.

If I had a choice, however, I'd take California over Florida in terms of living somewhere.

Copy protection would make sense since I didn't have the manual - at least, right away. XD

Still, the Minotaur labyrinth... talk about trial, error and mapping.

Well, it's hard to back up that statement if you haven't even played the game yet.

Basically from the reaction I've read, everyone will probably find one or two modes that they like along with regular. It's hard to put in six modes and have five of them suck.

I wouldn't say Madden's crappy but the problem is that they'll use the same game engine for all the EA games for anywhere between 2-4 years. Minor upgrades each year when they don't change it. So that's why you might see a Madden game get great reviews one year then have the scores drop off over time; there's changes to the game, but it's not anything radically different.

...You know, this is one of those double-edged swords. You don't WANT to read about this stuff and you don't WANT to know why this guy's doing it, but on the other hand he seems to research everything well and it's informative in a weird way.

It's probably easier to do this for Myspace than something like LJ, really.

EDIT: Geez, some of these are sad. As for others... well, to take one example, if you try to RUN THE COPS OVER with your car, you're asking for it.
