Perhaps that should be remidied

Part of it's not being sure where to put it under my categories.

I wouldn't call dealing with computer hardware particularly entertaining, see. But, it's probably closest to gaming, so... *edits previous post*

The split-forum format looks <3.

I would keep Gaming separate myself but push all the other stuff into some weird "Etc." category.

I must be weird, and not just because I don't like the split layout. Plenty of other reasons, but that's the only relevant one.

The rearangment look good, but I was wondering if the idea to make section of the forum collapsable was ever implimented. Also clicking on the heading of them just takes you to index.php again.

As for the move of the Debate forum, I am more or less neutral on it. It seemed to make sense to be put in General, because on most boards the Debate forum is originally separated from the General Discussion forum (probably to keep the more weighty topics out of there); then again, its being put in the Serious category along with Officer's Club and Femine (?) would not be a bad idea, though I've never really considered the Debate forum really being in the same genre as the Officer's Club and Femine.

It's more for serious, mature discussion, rather than General's less serious structure... at least, that's what I thought. :\

I don't go in there often, so I could easily be wrong.

Programming gets used by a lot of people, I would also suggest bringing back AB Programming because this is the "mother" board and it would help people getting helped when they need help on the board.

Just an idea, although I think programming should still exist.

For the description of Brain Teasers, you could use the old description but shorter. How about this for a description?

Puzzles, riddles, 'game shows' and more.

Just my two cents.

- Entertainment/Sports: Split back into Entertainment(/Movies/TV/Anime) and Sports

- Move Entertainment, Sports, Gaming, Emulation, and Tournaments under one category

- Add Writing*, move SimBattle, Story Forum, and Modern Art to the same category

? Move Femine, Officers, Debate to their own category (as well as mabye some other forum I forgot)

? Move Craziness, Brain Teasers, etc to the same category as General

? Add two seperate forum layotus: ROM-Hacking on top, ROM-Hacking on bottom (to switch between "ROM Hacking oriented" and "Non-ROM Hacking", to get the forums out of the way for everyone else and vice-versa)

Hmm. I like it, but I would prefer if the ROM hacking section actually stayed under General, and then Art/Entertainment under that (and perhaps Craziness under that ). Also, maybe it's just me, but I'm so used to having Gaming at the bottom and ROM Hacking at the top that it would be nice if they stayed somewhat like that. The rest I don't really care - it looks fine to me

(of course, not really my choice, but meh, thats my opinion)

By the way, how did the ROM-Hacking Releases forum come to be? I know it just kind of popped up, and I've often wondered why it was split from ROM Hacking

It was to have a seperate forum simply for releases so non-approved members could still post there.

I like the compact board layout, but it might be a bit more elegant looking if you broke display case and pit of despair out of the columns and made them span across the bottom, like in the original layout.

As it is, it looks a little un-balanced, plus it would be sensical as those are archival forums and not actually posting boards.

That might be possible (more tweaking ), but I'm not entirely sure it'd look good. It'd thorw off the whole "seperated" feel...

I'm with Thex here on the split forum layout ... I really don't like it.

Ever considered maybe implementing sub-forums? I myself usually don't like sub-forums, but there's some board systems out there that get it done pretty well. myBB is a good example.

I'd be useful for things like the gaming Tournaments forum (is that forum really needed?). Instead of a whole space for a forum, description and all that, a link to that forum could just sit under the main gaming forum, and it'd probably look nicer. I'm sure other forums could be moved around here and there too. Sub-forums could probably be really useful for Rom Hacking and whatnot too.

As long as you're messing with this stuff, maybe you can put the apostrophe on the right side of the s in "Officer's Club".
