When I try to edit my avatar I always click Delete and save. And then I try to upload a new one. But I always end up with the stupid koopa one.

ctrl-f5 (force reload), it is updated, your old one is cached. No error.

Yeah. I was going to try appending a query-string to the end (randomly generated at time of upload, ignored when deleting), but a lot of browsers don't cache query-string URLs.
