I want to hack Megaman 1 but when I try to load my rom into Rock and Roll 1.1 is says the file is invalid. How do I fix this?

P.S. Please do not bring up the fact I ask for help too much. I'm a noob.

First, that picture has no detail, and the text is unreadable. It's pointless to even have it there.

Chances are it's a bad dump, or the editor you're using only supports a certain ROM and you don't have the right one.

I appologize for the picture being to small. Image shack said it was to big at first and then I made it to small. I've tried 5 different ROMS (all from different sites) and none worked.

Removed picture.

Use Mega Man (U) ROM instead. That's the version I wrote the program with, so compatibility is probably the best with that version.

Temporary fix, go to Folder Options in Windows Explorer, and un-tick the Hide Extensions for Known File Associations.

I left a property set to False (really, the component's default should be true), and it doesn't force the file extensions.

It'll be corrected if I ever get around to releasing v1.2 (which has been sitting on my hard disc for over a month, I think). Or, you could hack the EXE using a resource hacker probably.

You're the maker of it! Cool! Still trying to find folder options. I even searched and it didn't find anything.

It should be located under the Tools menu in Windows Explorer.

This is odd. Before this thread I have never seen or anything about folder options.

I'll keep looking.

...okay. Let's go through this step by step. On your desktop, right click on My Computer and select Explore. This will bring up Windows Explorer. Click the tools button at the top of the window and select Folder Options. This will bring up a little window. Click the View tab in this window and uncheck "Hide extensions for known filetypes." It should be halfway down the list.

Did you find it?
