"Uh...Sure. I'll go along with that." Raising his eyebrows at Guts, Sukasa reached down and pulled out a Platinum Nintendo DS. Unhooking his earphones from his MP3 player, Sukasa plugged them into his DS and turned it on, playing Sonic Rush.

The conversation was soon interrupted by a kind, old plump woman pushing a cart. She was garbed in colorful robes, attire that did not seem normal for a stewardess. Of course, this train was not exactly a normal train..

Plump Woman: Would you like anything from the trolley, dears?

Kirby: Hey! Food! Awesome. Lemme go get my money...

"No, I'm good thanks. Not that I have any money on me anyways." Pulling the last lump out of his pocket, Sukasa flipped up a Ziploc bag containing a pair of sandwiches. Stuffing the bag back into his pocket, Sukasa looked back at his game, and cursed under his breath.

Kirby: ... Wha... erm.. Why aren't you allowed?

It was then he realized he regretted the question he asked. Seeing as how he is speaking with an actual ten year old, he might not like the answer he got.

Kirby: Oh! Found the money.. Let's see.. They're called gallons, sickles, and krunks, right?

Plump Women: Oh! It seems there are a bit of muggle-born in this cabin. Might I suggest a bit of everything?

Kirby had the sneaking suspicion that this might have been a poster girl, trying to sell as much of her products as possible. Terrible person to have on a train full of children. But he had more than enough money. And so..

Kirby: I'll have four of everything.

Plump Women: Well, as it's your first time here. I'm going to give you a discount. Only 1 galleon for one of everything.

Kirby: Awesome. Score one for copy pasta!

Fires was slumped back in her seat by now, watching Rushuna become increasingly agitated. She rubbed the sleepiness out of her eyes, picking up one of the thick notepads and waving it weakly in the air.

"You look like you've seen a ghost... well, technically I could've passed for one until I made it into this cabin... or maybe you..." she paused, holding the scratch pad in front of her face. "Oh, ohhh, I think I get what's happening... I'm not trying to look suspicious... these are just short-range teleportation macros, I'm trying to rescribe them to make them a little more efficient. I'm not going to go and incinerate a room by accident like one of those wand-waving kids are bound to do eventually."

Plump Witch: Here you go, deary.

There was a big smile on Kirby's face as he received a bucket full of candy.

Kirby: Thank you very much

Kirby turned around and looked at everyone. The boy walked around, handing everyone some of the junk he purchased. He bought a little more than four of everything, just incase some of the creatures had a sweet tooth...

Kirby: Don't worry about paying me back. It's on me.

Rushuna was slightly startled by Fires, as she was almost asleep.

"Oh.. No.. I was just thinking.. I might have forgotten something at home.. You know, something that I needed.."

The purple-skinned girl looked down to her side. Ka'nae was sleeping just fine.

"Hey.. um.. Fires? You speak rather nicely for a.. er.. for someone our age."

"Your age?..." Fires looked over to the window for a moment. She scratched the back of her head as she turned back to Rushuna and Melo. "Ah. I forgot about being a racial minority on this train... this is how I've looked for a while now. I'm 29. 30 in a month. That's still regarded as adolescence though, as far as a 150-plus-year lifespan dictates anyways..."

She turned her gaze back to the window, leaning forward. "When I got my ticket in the mail I was told that I'd only be the fourth Tarutaru scholar to visit Hogwarts in its archived history; the first got expelled and two quit after their second year. That's coming from a culture that normally embraces magic in its everyday life... I don't know exactly what arts they intend to teach, but it's got to be leaps and bounds ahead of anything I know. That's why I have to keep sharp."

Fires suddenly drug the window up and threw out her pen. She made a rapid series of finger motions with her other hand, and in a flash of white light, it reappeared in her grip.

"Still room for improvement..." She went back to writing. "It's so exciting to be here now... I can't wait to get there."

"I.. oh.. wow.. "

Rushuna looked at her hands. She was another one in the minority as well. She was not sure what she was, but the only thing she could figure out was she some sort of half-elf. With her skin color being dark, she could be a dark elf.. or a drow.. or.. something. There were so many names for someone with her appearance that she just gave up trying to figure out what she was.

However, that did not matter now. She was now sure what she would be dealing with when the train reaches its destination. She could run from normal people.. But now...

All she wants is to just find the person who added a burden to her life and then move on.

"Oh hey, thanks." Taking the candy from Kirbynite patiently and thanking him, Sukasa unwrapped one of the medium-sized pieces and took a bite. Flipping shut his DS, Sukasa Put it down beside him and took another bite.

"These are pretty good. Thanks, Kirbynite," said Sukasa, after finishing the candy.

Melo kept his head against the window looking out while slightly paying attention to Fires and Rushuna. He felt kind of left out as he was the only one there that was human and had a less... interesting story to tell. Well, that was what his opinion was. He didn't respond as he did not know what to say without offending them.

Nevertheless, he was impressed at Fires's abilities as his eyes widened as the pen returned. It was really amazing for him to see real magic for a change instead of programmed graphics with variables controlling the power. He hoped that he would be able to pull off such magic skills later on.

He sat up and stretched in his seat. He then reached in his black pants pocket and pulled out a GameBoy Color. As old as it was, it ran Link's Awakening no problem. He still didn't get too far. Just to the second dungeon. He sighed when he realized that he could have gotten a lot farther in the time it took him to reach the second dungeon. Buttons were pressed at what seemed to be random as he tried to quickly get through this dungeon, which he loathed for some reason.

Then his stomach rumbled. Loudly. His face severly reddened as he remained playing the game, despite his hunger pains.

Zaros leaped from the shoulder of Kent and did a "swan-dive" into the candy that was put into Kent's hand's. Kent selected a single candy bar, and then put Zaros (and the whole heap of candy) on the empty seat next to him.

Zaros: "Oh, SWEET!" he exclaimed, inhaling the candy with great gusto. Everyone in the cabin stared wide-eyed as the small pile of candy disappeared within seconds, wrappers and all. He patted his round body and burped out a cloud of red power, which began sparking in the air like miniature fireworks. Zaros climbed his way back up to the shoulder of Kent, who was sitting there, silently munching on his "Chocolate Volcano" (Which, happened to have a large amount of hot fudge drizzled over it)

Zaros repositioned himself, and hiccupped slightly. Kent glanced at Zaros, who nodded

Zaros: "So guys... Kent wants to know where you all come from..."

Guts: Well.... *chomp* ... I'm from America, originally. My dad's, like, a world famous scientist, though, so we do a lot of traveling...

As Guts openned the wrapper of the next piece of candy, he was quite surprised as the contents, a frog made of seemingly solid chocolate, leapt right out of the packaging and began hopping around the compartment.

Guts: Wah! It's alive!

The quiet atmosphere in Francis’ compartment was relaxing. Already Orion was taking advantage of such by sleeping. It seemed Francis as well was on his way to a dream filled sleep when all of a sudden his compartment door flew open.

At the entrance stood a boy around his age. He stood almost a head taller than Francis and his rich skin color was a sharp contrast to Francis' slightly pale look. He had short dark black hair which complemented his brown eyes. In Francis' eyes he seemed to be overdressed for school. The boy had a buttoned short sleeve burgundy shirt, a black colored slack and dark dress shoes.

“Finally! A compartment that is relatively empty”, the boy said as he entered.

He paid no mind to Francis as he stowed away his luggage. After a minute or two the boy faced Francis and extended his hand.

“Name is Thomas Maxwell. How do you do?”

Francis took a hard look at Thomas. Reluctantly he extended his hand as well. “I am doing well enough. I am Francis Crowe and the cat behind you is Orion”

Thomas flopped down next to Orion and stretched.

“What House are you hoping to land in? I favor the Slytherin mind set. Crafty and cunning is the way to be”, said Thomas with a smirk

“You mean cocky and arrogant as well. Pricks to say the least”, answered Francis

“True, but for it is the best way to achieve greatness don’t you think? Or would you prefer to be a some damn puff? Or maybe you are one of those brainy types, or better yet, filled with courage to face any obstacle. A fool’s courage, is that what you have?”

Francis eyed Thomas carefully.

“Greatness is the only path I follow. It doesn’t matter which House I end up with because the results will be the same”, replied Francis

“And what result will that be?”

“You’ll see...one day”

Ducking his head, Sukasa narrowly avoided being hit by the frog, and watched as the Frog blundered around the cabin. Pulling out a napkin seemingly out of nowhere, Sukasa watched the frog, then caught it in the napkin and handed the wriggling lump to Guts.

"Here, does that help?" asked Sukasa, with a slight grin on his face. Turning back to his DS, Sukasa flipped up the lid, only to wince. "Damn ," muttered Sukasa, "Not again..." Shaking his head, Sukasa held down the power button until the DS shut off. Sighing, Sukasa put away the DS. Jeez, ten times and I keep messing this level up... Grabbing another candy, Sukasa popped it in his mouth. "So," said Sukasa after finishing it, "Canada myself."

Teddylot was agile enough to manage his way through the empty train car corridors, but unfortunately, so were his pursuers. The wily bear tried his hardest to slow them down. His main tactic was to throw as many obstacles in their path as possible. These obstacles were mainly unwitting students or perhaps barrels whenever he passed one by.

Once Teddylot switched into the next train car, however, there was an obstacle in his way. In his grammar textbook, this sort of incident was usually seen as a form of “irony” which is considered quite the handy literary device, but today it meant trouble. The teddy bear skidded to a stop in front of the trolley blocking his path, then scouted his surroundings for a possible getaw—

Teddylot: GAH!!! I’VE BEEN SPOTTED!

It’s true he was spotted. Zap and Twister burst through the train car door and immediately had both the nets’ lasers pointed somewhere on his person.

Zap: And you’ve also been found, little bear.

Twister dashed forward and swung his net at Teddylot in a most promising attempt at a catch, but the bear was too cunning for such a simple denouement and dodged the weapon with a simple jump. Not expecting to miss, Twister lost balance and flew face first into the ground. The teddy bear pushed off of his friend’s head and had enough of a boost to get to the top of the trolley.

At the end of the train car were a couple of other long-haired, red-headed troublemakers ... also having a bit of fun.

Fred: And it looks like a second first year has joined the match, George.

George: That seems to be the case here, Fred.

Fred: It’s really a fun sight to see. I pity those not tuned in.

George: Candy flying everywhere.

Fred: Children on their knees.

George: Picking up the candy.

Fred: And it looks like a waste of time.

George: It seems so, Fred. The teddy bear is just too agile for the first years’ offense to handle. They appear to have no control over the unfolding situation

Fred: It looks like this will be a match won on defense and the kicking game, George.

George: True, but first the first years have to get on the boa--Ooooh, and that was a nasty head butt.

Fred: I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that Zidane-like maneuver.

George: It looks like the Trolley Witch might be watching from the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Coo: Watch where you aim that bloody arse!

Kirby was just about to sit down when he realized he was being shoved by his avian friend.

Kirby: Gack! Hey! You're not supposed to be talking!

Coo: Didn't you hear that bloody bear running amock!?

--------------------------

Rushuna, who almost fell asleep again, twitched when she heard a startling banging noise right next to her. She quietly groaned as she rubbed her eyes. The girl leaned forward, poking her head to see what the annoyance that destroyed her sleep was.

"Ow, my head... Coo! There was no need for that kinda pushing!"

The same boy who had a bird on his head was the one who woke her up. The girl immediately locked her eyes on the boy, giving him a very strong glare. Of course, the spikey headed child didn't take notice. He just dusted his blue jacket as he walked back into the other cabin.

"Idiot..." she muttered, quietly.

The little dragon woke up as well, but he had his own reasons.

"I'm hungry.."

"Shush, Ka'nae," said the girl, in a faint whisper.

And now.. for something completely different..

Just as silence once again fell upon the again the door suddenly flew open with a crash. This was not caused by any form of witchery however, just outside the compartment stood a young boy with an outstretched foot covered by nothing more than a flip flop.

"….OW!!! What are these things made of?!"

The boy refusing to use his hands which were currently shoved deep into the pockets of baggy cargo shorts had kicked open the cabin door. Not more than a second after yelling in pain the boy casually walked into the cabin as if nothing had happened and sat across from Francis. The boy wasn't necessarily tall but he had a lanky almost rubbery look to him. He appeared to be almost the exact opposite of the boy he was sitting across from. His hair was black as night and unkempt, his skin bronzed by hours of sitting in the sun, and his clothes although comfortable were anything but formal.

Atop his head rested a small puppy with the exact same hair color as the boy. The dog slept peacefully without the slightest fear of falling off. As the sun shown through the window the puppy seemed to almost glow. This was due to the canine's overabundance of jewelry, everything from earrings to a tail ring.

It was at this moment that the young boy pulled one hand out of his pocket and outstretched it toward Francis.

"The names Gorilla H. Rufus and this hears Rusty!"

The moment the door flew open Orion bolted from Thomas’ side and climbed to the top of the overhead compartment. Francis’ kept a wary eye on the lanky boy as he walked in casually as if nothing had ever happened.

Thomas wore a look of amazement as the boy sat down right next to him and outstretched his hand towards Francis.

After a quick glance at Gorilla H. Rufus, Francis slowly extended his hand.

“Hmm. Well, Rufus I am Francis Crowe and the cat on top of the luggage is Orion”, he said

“And my name is Thomas Maxwell” he interjected

Thomas took a hard look at Rusty.

“Better keep that mutt under control. All we need is to have that thing barking at the cat through out the entire trip” said Thomas. As he said this he slowly moved away from Ruffy. ‘Better keep my distance from this nut job.’

The train came to a screeching halt. The girl immediately applied force to the walls, trying to lock herself in place without being flung by the sudden stop.

"Bloody--"

"Can someone get Coo, Zaros, and the luggage off of me?"

The shining-red head gathered her items and stood up. As soon as she got up, Ka'nae began to shiver. The little dragon hovered close to the girl, hoping to get some heat from her. She still did not say a word, despite what the others from the nearby cabin were saying.

"Like... now? This sudden chill I'm getting is making the pain worse..."
