I can't read through that many pages of queries...
Someone was talking about the rods at Farore's secret and finding another copy at impa's ways, technically without executing the boots glitch it is impossible to finish impas ways due to the requirement of the hookshot, so it is technically not a glitch for sq (ie skip the dungeon). I'm going to put a big spoiler for sq here: Spoiler:
you should be able to beat Darunia's cavern only, though a lot of dungeons can be beaten using glitches, then head for the tower. You can also grab the ever-helpful cape at sheik's though it is very possible to do without. Originally posted by roadsarepoison Yes I noticed the joystiq and digg, pulled in tons of hits (thousands) on the website today (not sure about tomorrow) The only tablets in the game are the ones in the 7 dark world dungeons, not including that tower. Same goes for sq. You can remove magic powder if you throw it in the pond again... or 7EF34400 Quake doesn't do anything in the pond. however if you didn't get the mushroom from the guardhouse you're looking at a loss of the 1/2 magic upgrade from the bat. |

heyyy Euclid, didn't take me long to track you down, I would've preferred to have emailed you, or even PM you here but I don't seem to be able to.
Hopefully you recognize my name, I'm in your credits :p I don't have much to say, just that I think I speak for everyone I know in that credit list (and I do know most of them) when I say great work, its not often someone puts in so much work and its great to see it get finished. and I hope you don't mind me asking, but would you mind if my name on your credits page hyper linked to my site: http://takam.wordpress.com/ ? again, great work man. edit- btw, I found out about your hack through kotaku http://kotaku.com/gaming/link-to-the-past/lttp-remade-as-zelda-parallel-worlds-227585.php (edited by .TakaM on 01-10-07 08:27 AM) |

Does this mean the mainstream videogame press don't like Super Mario World and Super Metroid? =(

Originally posted by Black Telomeres I'm sure they do, they apparently just like Link to the Past better. This also happens to be the first (and only, i think) full hack of the game. I think joystiq also had an article about Mario Adventure (Darkdhaiz's SMB3 hack) when it came out. That was how I first learned about game hacks and started playing them. |

The Helmasaur King in Farore's Isle doesn't detect hits about 2/3 of the time

That's probably intentional.

Maybe not. It's the same boss that shows legs all over the outside walls.
To reliably hit him, I've found, you have to get up close to the right side of his face and use the hammer (so it lands near the center). The area of sensitivity to hits seems like it's been moved way back on his face from where it was in the original. On his mask, though, the sensitivity seems the same. Intentional? Now I'm not sure. |

You have to use your charged sword to deal him damage. Simple as that...
Meanwhile, I was bored so I gave a go at the guardhouse making it more like an original Nintendo dungeon would be, that means less trouble, no backtracking, more fun. I'll probably go around and edit many more rooms to make them more balanced. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f84/misc20/PW/BalancedDGs/room112.png http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f84/misc20/PW/BalancedDGs/room114.png But again, a v2.0 won't be anytime soon, I'll make sure we fix everything reported and make more goodies along the road. A v1.1 patch fixing the monologue/grammar should be out soon in the future. |

I've broken it's mask swung my sword while UNDER it's head. No damage was done. Care to be more specific?

Still not injuring it =\ Hit detection doesn't seem to be working. My theory is that it has something to do with the way the sprites wrap around into the outer walls. That would explain why when it's tail is off-screen, but I can see it's feet in the south wall, I get hurt when it attacks with it's tail without anything visible touching me.
Or is it invulnerable to the lvl1 sword? Nevermind. I found a vulnerable spot, but it's nearly impossible to hit. It's on the right side of the thing somewhere between the head, torso, and leg. I've attacked the spot about 80 times. It detected the hit once. Did you guys edit this enemy's behavior in any way? For Maniacal Ben:
<< what am i supposed to do in this room? its driving me crazy >> Believe it or not, there is no real function to the "Room of Four Tongues," other than to nab the third key of the dungeon. In the room just south of the RFT, there is a hookshot sequence that actually works both ways. It might take a few minutes to figure out (there are a few dash-into-the-wall-to-propel-Link-backwards moments), but it *is* doable. ~~~ Anyone care to clue me in on the location of Sheik's hideout? |

... It's through the area west of the castle site. It's also reachable by going east from victory beach and dropping down the waterfall. Either way go south until you can go west (and it doesn't lead you to castle site) and then it's through a cave there.

Head to the church in the snowy world and go behind the top statue on the left of the pathway and head towards the left screen. Head up to wher elink is in the picture shown. Then hold UP to do a ledge Jump North-Eastward(Note: You wont actuall jump off the ledge). Now hold left to jump to the second ledge. Then just go one screen upwards. In that area, if you go one screen to the right, you will go to a glitched up area of the endless beach area. |
