I can do it. I know it's possible. But are you supposed to have the bow before this, or what? I mean, it seems a little unfair when I have to hit them a combined 288 times to kill them, and they can hit me 10 (or 20 if I have a fairy) and kill me.

the boomerang works pretty good, you can get it off faster than the sword. you don't get the bow til later

Unfortunately, I skipped on the blue boomerang so I could get the red one later.

I'm close, though. Last time I died, I'd knocked 5 of the 6.

the funny thing is, right after those knights, you gotta fight the moth boss. he's pretty easy though. I couldn't imagine playing this game without save states

It's beastly.

Funny thing about playing it from a hard copy (firm copy?) is that you tend to accept the difficult things, and get used to just dying over and over... and you create routines and patterns, sort of chipping away at whatever the thing is until it works. The repetition is almost like Galaxian or something; not a chore, just a long game with a limited premise.

Btw, I just beat the Armos guys with no boomerang and of course no save states. Got killed by the moth, but only because I didn't know what to expect. That is no longer the case.

How am i suppose to get this key?
At first I've come across 2 locked doors, so i could only pick 1 for the time being since i only had 1 key, ...i get the feeling i chose the wrong door cause the one i picked led to the big Chest key....while the other door is still locked, so i see this key, but i'm just sadly getting fustrated trying for a couple hours how to get to that spot and can't figure it out

You can go south and exit and go in through a hole somewhere else which is under a skull.

EDIT:
Help! How do I get to that door? And where is the boss?

Either you use the red cane (not really needed) or figure out that this room is a complete mirror of the room you just went through.

big chest key @ parallel tower is right next to the mirror.

more parallel tower keys spoilers
Spoiler:
1. go south in the room after the 6 armos knights battle
2. key in the fireblade + ice room on 6F
3. fall down from the hole above the fireblade on 5F, follow the path left onto the room with the bottles, one of them has a key.

And why lock someone in the room with Kholdstare when they don't have a fire rod?
I would think you have the book of mudora.

Why did you put a gap that can't be hookshotted over in the ice fortress for apparently no reason?
can be done after you kill kholdstare.

Locos_Docos: will pm you soon.

Spoiler (key 3):Wow, #3 there I got in a way best described as "Completely different where actually from the path with the skulls and the invisible floor which I found exploring that floor I dashed into into one of skulls and bounced to the other side, then ran against the pit to avoid falling, making it to the other side and allowing me to get the key without any of that roundabout crap."
And on an unrelated note, recently I found that you don't lose MP from the magic cape while slashing your sword. I must admit I've taken to donning it, holding down the turbo button, and holding down the "speed up emulation" button against armos knights.

Edit: But this new puzzle is...

... What the hell...

No clue.

Spoiler:
Think of what you did in the room before, when you had to light a torch in order to see the path. The path is 100% similar in this room, apart from that it's mirrored.

EDIT: Haha, I missed Euclid's reply. Sorry.

@ Sess: Just head northwest from the village until you end up in the Cannon Oasis, then enter that large waterway cave:

okay, i just killed the boss of impa's ways and didn't even release it was a bonafide dungeon with a crystal in it. I missed the big chest too. I still cannot find dungeon number 1, there must be some warp or cave to it

edit: the map helped me get the big chest, thanks

Well, you can stand in the middle of the room and use a spin attack when they all circle in close to you, (assuming they behave the same as in the original) to hit them all at once. But you risk getting hit more often doing it that way. I haven't actually played enough to get that far yet, so I don't know if that strategy would totally suck or what.
