A pair of hands slid out of a ragged red overcoat, suddenly clapping together. Shady eyes gazed about in the otherwise white abyss, looking for something that wasn't there. Eventually he sat back down at a table that hadn't existed moments before. He reached over to a tall bottle of liquor that likewise had appeared at his whim. He paused as a rectangular opening appeared and a tall, red rodent-like creature emerged from it, draped in a loose, orange cotton gi.

"Have you located him?" Auron mumbled, letting his chin fall onto a pair of folded hands.

"He's currently at a version of Earth you should be familiar with..." Knuckles muttered back. "Currently a few imperial miles outside of a Terran town, Twilight Town or something as the lay of the land says..."

"I would have expected as much," Auron heaved a heavy sigh, looking away. "Do you know if he's managed to persuade the Blue Mage Paragon yet?"

"Troy, Troy, Troy," Knuckles shok his head, baring a toothy grin. "You know him better than that. He's good at dodging that topic by now. Where's the Blue Mage, Troy? Whooosh." Knuckles waved one of his burly hands over his head.

"I am growing increasingly concerned with his sidequests. He understands that Shamballa can only sustain us for so long... we must reach our full roster as soon as possible so that we may begin to harness the Vast to make us whole again. If Shamballa's energies are disrupted in any way... our primal forms may consume us."

"Yeah, we know that's years away at the least. I dunno why you're getting so agitated over this."

"We have an obligation to protect the current time-space continuum. That is our debt that we need to repay. You know this. Troy's encounter with the UEN has done well to make me restless. There are sister organizations that wish to undo the fragile balance between the Vast, Heartless and Nobodies... we have to assure our mutual survival if we hope to accomplish our mission. Do you know of the Black Garter?"

Knuckles shrugged weakly. "Sister organization of the UEN? I doubt they've got the experience in decimating worlds and harvesting souls that they do."

"They are attempting to do so. That we know." Auron stood up from his seat, folding his arms behind his back. "So far we've managed to hide the existence of Shamballa from the UEN. More people are searching for it now, and if any find it their powers would become unfathomable. The stakes are rising. They know that they can just go around causing whatever destruction they please, but they realize that Shamballa is the jackpot."

"Why are they so convinced they'll get into Shamballa?" Knuckles scratched the back of their heads. "Only the Covenant knows where the hell Shamballa actually is, how do they want to threaten us? None of us have homeworlds, besides that, none of us have friends except for each other. Technically speaking, that makes each individual member of the Covenant invulnerable."

"We might not have homeworlds," Auron trailed off. "But some of us have homes... and old accomplices..."

A black wolf in a thick grey bodysuit hovered over the main cargo bay of a gigantic warship, watching with grim satisfaction as large robotic golems marched into place underneath him. He touched back down onto a walkway high above, planting his arms onto the guardrail. Chuckling to himself, he issued his command.

"Find the Warrior and White Mage Paragons. Torture them until their minds crumble. Let us continue the battle that Shadow forfeited! We will ride forth into Shamballa and grant ourselves power beyond imagination! Let us march! To Earth!"

Eclipse hunched back forward, watching the stars race around him with hungry red eyes and bared teeth. "Troy and Fires will regret letting their hearts wander until their dying days..."

Down in the sea of troops, one of the mechs stared up into the air. "...whiiiite..."

Several months pass...

Troy spat out a mouthful of the local 'beverage', extinguishing a nearby candle and causing everyone at the tables immediately adjacent to him to abandon their seats in disgust. He wiped his mouth, grumbling to himself as the short, burly patrons around him shot him piercing glares. They were called 'dwarves' in the local tongue as he found out earlier. Magic was not commonplace in this part of the world so he knew he would be able to escape whatever brawl he accidently found himself in with little consequence.

"...this stuff is hard." Troy quickly blurted, shoving an ornately carved mug out of the way. Sitting opposite from him was what looked like a small girl, wrapped in dull purple robes. She had dark green eyes, and a head of matted blue hair. She was far older than her physique indicated; she was a sister race of the dwarves known as the 'gnomes', which were known more for their inventing heritage and magical prowess. This one in particular had been in her fair share of melee brawls besides, though. "Well, thanks for telling me about this situation, I'm sure that who you DID encounter was in fact a person from another world. I'm surprised you treated him the way you did though, people here obviously get a little antsy when you mention people from beyond the void..."

"Demonic arts and other black spells are mostly outlawed..." the woman continued shoving an empty mug back and forth across the table, content with having drunk someone twice her size under the table. "We had rough times, but eventually he was able to return to where he came from supposedly... I guess I developed a bit of a soft side for him..." Troy continued to stare as she drummed her fingers more rapidly and began looking away, attempting to conceal a very blatant blush.

"Ahhhh. Star-crossed lov'rs bound by their own unseeing dimensions. I wish I could experience that for myself but I'm bound by all this travel... well, what was his name?" Troy sniffed at his mug again, eventually taking another long drink from it.

"He called himself Blitzen-Aitzen."

Troy spewed out everything in his mouth.

Moments later Troy ran in a windsprint from the tavern, an angry mob of people even shorter than him chasing him through a swamp.

"Her name was Venryl. She knew that Blitzen came to this world. Now I've just got to piece together where he possibly could've went... if I could get Blitzen back into the group, not only could I stop Fires from being so emo, Auron'd finally get off my back now that I returned the Paladin Paragon that's been lost for years!"

Troy jogged to a stop, poking at various points in the air in front of him with the keyblade that flashed into his hands. The wind howled as a small portal appeared in the air. Making sure no one would see him, Troy quickly hurled himself inside. The gate collapsed upon itself with a loud clank, and the crowd following him kept on running through the part of the marsh where he had disappeared from.

A set of three ships appeared over the atmosphere of the earth with a flash of blue energy. A set of black winged corvette-class ships linked up to a larger, slim cruiser sitting between them with a cord of similarly azure energy.

"Compiling computing power," a voice shouted over the loudspeakers of the main ship. Eclipse glanced around, nodding to other workers that immediately hovered off his catwalk and moved towards the walls. "We should be able to brute-force our way through their encryptions easily. Once we breach their information systems you will have this whole world as your audience."

Eclipse continued to smirk. "It's so interesting listening to what people have to say in the last days of their lives."

CHAPTER 1:
UNTO THE BREACH

As such, the uninterrupted visage of Eclipse quickly became visible on video transmissions everywhere across the face of the world - what message he had to bear, or who would choose to be the prime recipients of it, had yet to be seen...
