The Christmas scheme is awesome.

I got gift cards. Still have to go to my mom's parents tommorow (or later today I guess I should say). They usually give me the biggest / best presents, but this year I have no idea what to expect.

I received a DVD of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

It's quite old and cheesy, but darn it, I want Elvira herself under my tree.

Operation: Avoid the Family was a huge success.

Me and Chad aren't buying each other presents this year, as I'm still at university and we don't have much money until I can get a job. We've just bought loads of food instead- turkey, chippolatas, stuffing, roast potatoes, biscuits, shortbread, chocolate- yummy

We bought the Wii at launch, but we haven't had much of a chance to play any multiplayer Wii Sports yet, so we're going to do that too.

My main on World of Warcraft is also half a level away from 60- my very first character to get to 60 since I started playing in March 2005. Two Scholo / Strath runs will see me there, so that's a great gift

We've also rented Monty Python's The Holy Grail as well, which we'll watch tonight- after Doctor Who, if I can Chad drunk enough to persuade her to watch it with me.

Anyways, hope everyone got what they wanted, Merry Christmas to you all

What I got:

-A Christmas card

What I am doing today:

-Nothing

For the past few years I have been getting gifts throughout the course of the year (Not counting birthday) instead of one day. So, I really did not expect anything this morning.

1. Small amount of candy.
2. A shirt and a pair of pants from my parents. They also got me a sport jacket, unfortunately it has to be returned because it is too large.
3. A pre-tied bow tie (boo on the pre-tied factor, kudos on the nice material and the straight-style) and tuxedo shirt from my sister.
4. My dad popped up with a few bottles of Okocim Strong which we started drinking at 9 am.

I would now like to throw my KVM switch at some poor bastard at "ATEN" (the manufacturer) as it is becoming apparent that it does not work.

This pisses me off all the more because I understand that this device cost my mother a lot of money to purchase for me, and that she was a little bit disappointed / upset that it cost so much. It also took a long time for her to order in (it was ordered before my birthday on the 10th and I only got it today at Christmas).

And now I'm going to have to take it back to her, and tell her that it doesn't work. And I'm gonna feel like I'm a right ole bitch doing so.

Likewise! I just tried on the shirt that my sister gave me. The shoulders, chest, arms, wrist, et al. are all well fitting. But the neck is unbelievable tight. And the bow tie cannot be adjusted, either. So it is perpetually too small. So, I must return these two items. I may invest in a single solid colour shirt to go with my society bow tie.

I got two dress shirts, an iPod charger, a pwn Marc Ecko watch, and a PSP... version 2.71.

Which means I have to do the dirty work myself if I wanna play roms on it

My 7-year-old little brother got Mario vs. DK 2, Cars (the game) and a blue 4GB iPod nano. Dad splurged a bit and got the 30GB iPod video for himself, and apparently he wants me to fill it with porn

Weird christmas indeed.

I didn't get any gifts today, on the 25th. I got them on the evening of the 24th instead, like you're supposed to.

But of course, only after visiting my brothers gravestone, watching Disney on tv and eating a good dinner with my family. Same procedure as every year...

And here's what I got:

A camera (I managed to lose the old one, because I'm a drunken fool)
Stuff for the bed (pillow coatings and such.)
Water proof pants
A pair of socks
500 NOK (I might use this to buy cd's, and a memory card for the camera)
Two t-shirts and some underwear
Candy
Donald Pocket (wee...)
Cynthia

Uh-huh.

Erm... I got a sweater, some pants, some dockers, socks, underwear, some t-shirts, a new backpack (OK, I *did* need that for work) and a few assorted stocking stuffers including fruit-flavored Smarties.

I'll get a little more after.

Pants! I finally got some pants! Oh god they're so comfortable and I am wearing them now and I am a blissful, happy little boy. Of course, it's kinda a tradition for me to wear the clothes I get on christmas morning to my family gatherings.

I also got the WoW trading card game starter set (thereby proving my parents know just how much of a nerd I am), some screeching flying monkeys, the new Super Robot Wars game (thanks Phil ), and a couple extra bucks to buy some more pants with (also some new shoes, I could totally use them...).

From my dad, though, I got something pretty unexpected. He gave me a check. A big check, for that matter... One to buy a laptop with. Now, this is something I'm definitely going to need in coming years, it'll be nice to be able to port my work around, especially now that I have a new job that actually requires its use. I'm glad, but at the same time, I do feel bad. I always hate that people spend money on me, especially when I don't make nearly as much to spend in return. Has anyone ever gotten that feeling? Christmas makes me guilty... As much as I know that it's about the spirit and the giving and the Jesus, I can't help but wish I could give more in return.

That said, what've you guys given your families? I got my little sister a copy of Pokemon Ranger, my dad a huge URI sweatshirt, and my mom and stepdad a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant (as well as the assurance that I'll keep an eye on my little sister while they go out). My older sister and I are just gonna take each other to dinner and pay for each others' bills...

Merry Christmas folks!
Here are some choice pics of my loot, taken with my new camera. I can't wait to mess with it.

I ate too many burritos (also seinfeld!)

I should've put something next to this thing to show how big it is. It's not huge, but I do feel like jumping on it.
