Legend of Zelda: Age of Darkness
Story by Mike Mosier

Hyrule had been a peaceful kingdom for 500 years ever since the “Hero of Twilight” destroyed Ganon. However, unbeknownst to the people of Hyrule, his spirit lived on, one day destined to be reborn again in physical form.
That is exactly what occurred… exactly 500 years after Ganon tried to usurp the throne of Hyrule, and failed, he was reborn in physical form, in a northern town to a group of snowbound wanderers.

He Quickly became the leader of their tribe, as he was the best fighter, a warrior of great power, who began to establish a KINGDOM out of nothing, usurping the surrounding provinces and building up a strong army of HUMANS and MONSTERS. He then called himself “GANONDORF” after the feared conqueror of Hyrule’s Past.

Eventually, the tyrant reached Castle Hyrule, with a GREAT ARMY of thousands of strong soldiers. The people then hoped THE HERO OF TWILIGHT would appear to save them, but alas, no hero showed up, and the armies of Hyrule were slaughtered by the OVERPOWERING forces of GANON. The KING was SLAIN, and the throne was taken. However the KINGS DAUGHTER, a princess escaped to the SOUTH with a PROPHECY in hand.

It Read, “Hyrule Will see its darkest hour, when the manifestation of evil is reborn, and evil shall prevail unless the SOLE VILLAGER is found, for HE is the CHOSEN ONE”

At this time, word of the invasion swept SOUTHERN HYRULE, and finally reached a SMALL HILLSIDE VILLAGE, Near Fakiri Woods, where a boy named LINK resided.

The People of this Village knew that they could not win, and GANON sent his ARMY to smite all of the villagers, and alas, the village was RANSACKED in the NIGHT, the people, women, children and all SLAUGHTERED, and the village BURNED. The boy LINK, however, escaped on horseback with his FATHER DURING the attack, in fulfillment of the PROPHECY

(The game would then begin with a chase scene Link and his daddy entering Fakiri woods, on horseback with Ganons army in pursuit, you would have to outrun the armies on EPONA, as you attempt to keep them at bay with your dads Sword., your dad however, will be FATALLY WOUNDED by an arrow as you exit the village province, and enter into the deep woods. Ganons army will halt its pursuit and you will get the HYLIAN SWORD from your dad before he dies.)

Then you will navigate the woods, to find a couple of ganons minions kidnapping a girl, you will kill them, and find out that it is princess Zelda, who has fled from hyrule castle, you will tell her your village has been destroyed and that you are the only survivor, she will then tell you that you are the Hero chosen by the gods, and she will tell you that you are a chosen hero, of a long line of heroes that have saved Hyrule from the same evil it faces now, and that you are the only one that can stop Ganondorf from usurping the entire kingdom of Hyrule ( and this will be done with REAL VOICES too, not just text its time we gave Link a VOICE) Then she will tell you to go and find the HERO’S ARTIFACTS, that were buried deep within Hyrules Dungeons, after the HERO OF TWILIGHT died, to unlock the location of the Master Sword.

The artifacts then would be as follows, in the following dungeons

NOTE: the hero’s artifacts are EQUIPPABLE ITEMS just like any other Items you find or buy within the game

Fakiri Caverns - Hero’s Tunic (Links Classic Green Garb)
Forest Temple- Hero’s Shield (The Classic Hylian Shield)
Ice Tower- Hero’s Bow
Royal Catacombs (Beneath Hyrule Castle Town) - Hero’s Sword
Shrine of Winds- Hero’s Stone (Allows you to become a wolf… ala Twilight Princess)

After you obtain these items, go back to Hyrule Castle, and free Zelda from the dungeons of Ganondorf and she will tell you that the HERO’S TOMB is the location of the Master Sword, and to go there. The HERO’s TOMB was located in ORDON, a former province of Hyrule, which is to the southwest, somewhat near your village. She will then flee to Kakariko village

When you get to ordon, if you have all of the artifacts, A door in a mountain will open, allowing you to enter into the LOST WOODS, a maze leading to the HERO’S TOMB

Once you complete the lost woods and the Puzzles inside the HEROS TOMB you will reveal the master sword, return to Hylia (a new town, just 10 miles outside of Hyrule Castle,) and prepare for a huge battle. You will have to free the people of the town from Ganondorf’s patrolling army, of about 100 using Epona and your master sword, you will ride through the town, but don’t let Epona get killed, because without your horse you will surely die (yes Epona will actually have a healthbar and if it goes to 0 she will die and you will have to fight on foot unless you have a bottled fairy)

Once the army is damaged enough, you will have freed Hylia from Ganondorf!! And his army will retreat to Hyrule Castle, Zelda will then return to Hylia and tell you that you are powerful with the blade of evil’s bane, but not nearly powerful enough to defeat Ganondorf. She will tell you that the 8 races of HYRULE, hold the ELEMENTAL AMULETS the key to true courage, and you will of course need these, that means then ITS DUNGEON TIME

The 8 races and their amulets/temples are as followed
NOTE: some of the races villages you will have to free from Ganons minions, the fights will be like the ones you fought in Hylia

Human- Amulet of Light, Sun’s Temple
Goron – Amulet of Fire, Death Mountain
Zora – Amulet of Water, Baybed Shrine
Kokiri- Amulet of Life, Great Deku Tree (The OoT deku tree sprout grown up)
Gerudo- (The Gerudos died out when the goddesses flooded the Gerudo Desert to seal Ganondorf, however, there are rumors of a “Sand Temple” deep within the ocean’s bowels)- Amulet of Sands- Sand Temple (you will need a Zora Tunic and Iron boots to reach it)
Occoca- Amulet of Air- Palace in the Clouds

Twili- Amulet of Darkness-The Palace of Twilight (NOTE you will need the Mirror of twilight to enter into the twilight realm, you will have to buy a FISHING boat on the DOCKS of Hylia Bay Town, and using the SPEICAL COMPASS you found in the sky palace, locate it on the ocean floor)

Once you collect all of the Amulets, you will need to visit princess Zelda in Hylia, and with the power of the amulets, you will learn the SACRED SPELL, which will allow you to paralyze enemies with a magic beam shot from your master sword

Now go to Hyrule Castle, to presumably fight Ganondorf, scale the castles many floors, after sneaking into the dungeons through an aqueduct, only youll find when you reach the top that ganondorf isn’t as naive as you thought, he is nowhere to be found, and only his most elite knights remain there to kill you. Use your master sword beam attack to stun them and attack the knights from the back, frightened, the KINGS ATTENDANT, who betrayed the royal family of hyrule will tell you that Ganondorf’s real location is in a temple in his northern homeland. Go to that temple, to find ganons most elite knights, as well as ganondorf himself, and prepare for a battle of the ages!!

TOWNS IN HYRULE

Fakiri Town- your home village, burned by Ganon and destroyed

Kakariko village- Located at the foot of death mountain, the volcanic rock has provided an ideal climate for tropical growth.

Hylia- A market town located 10 miles west of Hyrule Castle

Hyrule Castle Town- a desolated town where everyone was killed and the military of ganon now resides

Kokiri Forest- Yep, its back, and is home to the perpetual children of the Great Deku Tree. It is located somewhere within the lost woods, so is tucked away from all harm.

Zora’s Domain- the wonderfully crafted water town that is occupied by the Zoras
Goron City- a town that is located inside Death mountain, only Gorons or people with a GORON TUNIC dare enter this hot place.

Twilight City- The home of the Twili, the race of people that descend from MIDNA.

City in the Sky- the home of the ancient Occoco race, created in the image of the gods

Bay Town, A port town located on what used to be Lake Hylia, but is now Hylia Bay after the Flood.

HYRULE FIELD-

Fakiri Province- home of the forested hillside and links home village

Hylia Province- The Province in which Hylia and Hyrule Castle are located

Bay Province- The province of Hylia Bay and Bay Town

Eldin Province- The Province in Which Kakariko village and Death Mountain are located

Ganon Province- The lands Ganon have usurped (the north provinces)

Hyrule field should be roughly the size of the Twilight princess one or bigger, but include such things as weather effects, along with day/night… so maybe wind, rain and snow… depending on where you are in the field… also, people wandering the paths of Hyrule would be nice too, people like caravan travelers, or traveling merchants.
