Well, it's coming right down to the whole Christmas / New Year's break, where all the stores like coffeeshops and snack bars (at least around here) near my work shut down for the season. I guess with everyone else (except me dammit) on Holidays, there's no need to have them open.

So, in about 20 minutes, I'm going to go purchase my last coffee of 2006 I'm going to purchase a large Mocha latte, with 3 shots of espresso. I might even put some chocolate powder on top today.

Then it's going to be a long time until I can re-caffeinate. I think until about the 8th January. Ahhhhhhhhh shiiiiiiiiiiiit

What are you going to miss out on for a while, with the Christmas / New Year's break? Anything in your area shut down for the season?

I am going to miss my sanity the most. Its been an easy Xmas season at the store, but I know, all too well, that's about to change. I mean, what kind of company wants their employees to put up marketing on Xmas Eve! Its bad enough that we're open until six, and we have to deal with the last minute shoppers, but come on! Its not our damn fault that you had to wait, why should we suffer. Oh well, maybe I can sell you some of the crap that we couldn't sell all year b/c real gamers know not to buy some keyboard called "the Fang".

Anyway...nothing shuts down here. I mean, people stay open for hurricanes, why should they close and lose money during the holiday?

Which reminds me, I still need to pick up some egg nog...wonder what time the liquor store closes today....hmmm......which means no coffee for me, thanks.

All I'm going to do on my break is... play with my Christmas presents and be here. I have nothing better to do. No seriously, I don't. This year, I may not get very many presents, but you know, I accept that, and I don't really care. It does matter to me how many presents I get or what they are. Unless it's clothes- I HATE GETTING CLOTHES EVERY CHRISTMAS! And unfortunately, NONE of my family members will listen to me when I say that. They keep buying me clothes for Christmas. I know it's the thought that counts, but where's the "thought" in buying someone clothes WHEN THE PERSON DOESN'T EVEN WANT MORE CLOTHES? My dresser's drawers are full already. Why in the world would I want more clothes to put in them? I can barely fit what I have right now in them!

......I wanna get some clothes. Most of my clothes are either for work (I do not dress the same at work and at play) or are old as heck. I still have shirts from when I was in high school....

My problem with getting clothes is they were always clothes that I would never buy myself. So they wound up often being things I didn't wear

But yes, I would appreciate some clothes now. Or even better -- a gift voucher for a store that sells clothing.

And mmmmm... last coffee...

I think some things stay open here, but a lot of the little cafe and snack bar stuff goes, because the daily grind comes to a screaming halt.

I work in an area full of public sector stuff. Most the public sector goes on holidays -- all the little lunchy businesses that make money off us disappear too then.

I'm gonna need to pack lunches or walk long distances to shopping districts. And still no decent coffee.

Well, there's always going to be places open...I'm not sure if my work is open Christmas eve, I KNOW (well okay, am pretty sure ._.) they are Christmas day but I'm not sure if I'm going in that day. Or even on Chirstmas eve if it is open then. I know there needs to be places to go eat and everything, but Christmas should be about togetherness with your loved ones, not being away and working all night just so those too lazy to make a real meal can go out and treat THEIR family D=

I'm not going to be able to get a much-needed haircut for quite some time.

BTW, if you need caffiene, buy some Pepsi.

Ick. I used to LOVE carbonated beverages, but I don't drink them anymore. Why? Every single time I drink one (even if it's just a tiny sip), I get EXTREMELY sick to my stomach. Sometimes I'll even- Oop, won't go THAT far. Well, you get the idea. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't be drinking such healthy drinks anymore. Usually, all I drink is water, though lately, I've gotten back into O.J. again (and in case you didn't know, that stands for "orange juice". ). Mmmm... Those who say that healthy things taste nasty/disgusting are fools. Sure, SOME healthy things taste bad, but not orange juice, broccoli, spinach, cucumbers, and other things. They're all healthy, but I love them so. In fact, cucumbers are my favorite food, right alongside... PIZZA.

Haircut? Hah! I hate those things. Especially when my dad does it. He once cut my ear while trying to cut my HAIR. Basically, go in for a haircut, come out with an EARCUT.

I can't think of a single store around here that closes for Christmas (besides post offices and the like- Those ALWAYS close for the holidays). I'd actually be surprised if places like Toys 'R' Us are closed. I'm sure some people are going to return a few gifts....

You might want to discuss that with a doctor. Too much will make you sick but a small drink shouldn't.

Well, I haven't exactly seen my doctor in a year or so... Still, I drink HEALTHY drinks now, so I really don't see any point in seeing a doctor about something I'm never going to drink again no matter what. Even if I COULD drink them without any adverse effects on me, I STILL wouldn't drink them again. Orange juice and water are enough for me now.

They close the shops for weeks on end?

Some places close on the 25th and a few might take an extra day on either side of that, but places don't take Christmas HOLIDAYS.
