A snow storm has hit here in the state of Colorado. Whenever something like this happens the best thing you can do is stay home. But a friend of mine couldn't do that because a rule of thumb in Colorado is to always have a few days worth of food during the winter and had to go shopping. I opted to go with him because having to a wingman is always a good idea in a snow storm. So we leave for a King Soopers.

Two blocks after we leave the drive way, a man looking a stuck car standing in the middle of the road and doesn't get out of the way of the car until we're 3 feet away with the horn blowing before he decides to get out of the way. At an intersection at Santa faye we nearly tagged a car because some guy though it was smart to slowly creep into the intersection when the light is red. Numerous cars were going way faster than the should be, as going above 20 is not smart when brakes only have a quarter of their power. When we got to the store I waited in the car so we could keep the engine running. While waiting in the car, truck nearly backed up into me, an SUV nearly drove into me, and then SUV and mover's truck were 4 feet away from smashing into each other head on. The way back home was a bit safer, the dumbest thing we saw was a truck making a sharp right turn which goes right up a hill.

The lesson here, the temp is not the only thing that drops below 30 when a snow storm hits.

Your story has made my day. Or maybe it's the way you relay it. *snorfle*

I'm sorry to be so amused at your crappy outing, but the last comment was fantastic. XD

People always seem to get retarded around Christmas, and then as soon as snow hits.. yeah. My experience has always been that people lose the part of their brain that reminds them how to drive. >> Traffic reports prove it, too. :x

But yeah.. you win my internet snorflage for the day. xD

I'm from Illinois myself, so stuff like that isn't anything new to me.

However, I'm currently living in Arkansas. It hasn't snowed yet.

However, I've heard they treat them like hurricanes when they do get them. People will buy out the food like there's no tomorrow and plow head-first into each other and go AWOL and that kind of stuff. Haven't really confirmed that, but that's what they seem to think.

We just...have a usual day and dip down our speed a little. Although I will say I've hit a slick and 180'd into the side of the road in my now long dead Probe on the highway doing well below the speed needed. That's why I didn't die.

People cannot drive when weather conditions change.

Take last week, its not suppose to rain a lot in December down here....

Last Thursday was the rainiest day in the history of S.Fla in December. It was also a day for the record number of car accidents at around the same time of day.

Its called common sense, something that most people lack.

Unless it's Connecticut. But people here are probably used to the snow and shit, especially less-than-spectacular plowing jobs. The only reason my street's generally clear is there's a school a couple houses down.

You'd think the same thing up in Cleveland, but it seems like every year, people forgot how to drive in the snow. Actually, come to think about it, that's probably because I lived in a suburb with a bunch of idiot kids.

Yep, people forget that snow generally has a low friction factor in the UK as well. I've seen a guy slam his BMW at 30mph into the back of a car that just had an accident. He got out of his car and started shouting at the car in front for being in front of his car when there was ice on the road. So, I guess what he means is that nobody else should be on the road so he can drive his BMW at 30mph in the snow.

What a complete fucking fruitloop. People honestly think buying expensive cars immortalises them in any weather condition.
