Before you read, a note is that my math teacher is Mr. Oberle.

Twas the day of the final, and all through the class.
The teacher was certain that no one would pass.
He based the test off of all the wrong chapters.
And he sat there smiling, with an evil laughter.
All the kids knew of the evils he's done.
This sick twisted man, who had found this fun.
He was certain that it was done for us all.
I don't want to repeat in the fall!
When suddenly blared a giant distraction.
We left our to seats, to see the attraction.
A fire drill! On this day of all days.
"Oh thank God!" We shouted in praize.
We all had lined up, in a single file.
Wanting to leave the door, hall, and aisle.
But the teacher just sat there, grinning and laughing.
We were all scared and found it quite baffling.
Then we knew of our impending doom.
No matter what, it was due by noon!
We rushed to our chairs, and started deriving.
We did all we could, in hopes of surviving!
Now Nelson, and Marcus, Sean, Zack, and Chris!
and all other students, tired of this.
They all were demaning,
that we get a new teacher ... not so commanding.
Oberle just sat there, and looked at the hours.
And frightened us back, to the derivative powers.
What a waste, of being in class!
On this uncomfortable chair.
What a pain, in the ... derriere.
I finished my test. Name, period, and date.
BUT HE FAILED ME ANYWAY! For being two minutes late.
He set the clock, away from its time.
And the Math Gods had cried, for his radian crime!
But don't worry my friends, his fun is now finished.
His watchful eye, has begun to deminish.
I adjusted that clock! To its appropriate setting.
He sat there defeated, his evils regretting.
So he graded my test, with no loopholes, or lies.
And I just squeezed by, right on the fly!
All the students had cheered. They gave me presents and prizes.
For I had passed that class, with a sixty D minus.

I'm sure this test has nothing on my Calc III final.

Oh God, I remember my third Calc III midterm (BTW, who the fuck gives 3 midterms and a final?!)

I think everyone in the class save 2 people got under a 30 percent.

I made it through Stats II last year.

...I didn't do great but I made it through. Let's never speak about math again unless we're in a position where we do need it.

I agree with you there, Colin. Math isn't hard for me, it's just can be time consuming and tedious. I don't like it.

I liked the poetry though, SWR! Good work! ....But who the fuck in the right mind would mix two subjects?

If you're in Chemistry at Rutgers it's the same deal. Took that yesterday. Then I slapped a bitch, smoked a J and called it a day.

Wow. You passed the class with a 60 D minus? well at my school they consider that failing, but I guess if you passed thats all that matters. Am I right? My mother would kill me if I got a grade like that.

So the moral of the story is that if you gamble and study only what you think you have to rather than all the text, you got a horrible grade (and one that counts as a failure in most major institutions).

Am I right?

It was all a joke. This was an extra credit assignment to make an X-mas related math poem. I actually got a 96% and only A in the class.

I assumed it was a joke, but uh. I really hope you got no extra credit on it, because that has nothing to do with Christmas except for borrowing the opening three words and the general rhythm of something that is about Christmas (which is not enough to make something about Christmas).

Well, if you had heard the poor effort put into the other poems, you could understand why I did. Mine was basically the only one that had a reasonable length and rhymed all the way through. The only other that I remember doing well on their poem in my class wass Chris. But yeah, as I was reading it, I did realize that no parts of it actually mentioned Christmas.

While I totally understand the feeling of not having to try because you're nigh automatically better than the competition, it is better not to act on such a thing. If someone scores a 43 while bowling, that's not a good score, even if the person to their left scored a 12.

Bah, well, you can't really "study" for a math test.

You either know it or you don't.
