[edit: the above two posts were not present when this post was written.]

Right, I was going to make this an edit to my previous post, but then people might miss it. So I'll put it here.

I don't know why I'm arguing at all. It's stupid. Instead I'll just briefly go over everyone's points and leave it at that.

Kailieann: I completely agree with you. I current have zero programs which require .NET. It's a large runtime - one of the things that turned me off of VB - and it's made by Microsoft. Maybe this does make me a fanboy but I simply don't trust Microsoft, neither to make decent code nor to not spy on me, screw me over, etc. Yes I use Windows XP but if all goes well I won't for much longer. The only reason I'm not using Linux now is lack of support for my shitty hardware, and replacing it is a high priority.
BTW, I know two programs that require .NET with no decent alternative: BatchDPG (Moonshell movie encoder) and nLite (Windows customization tool). However, nLite can somehow be run without .NET - not sure how, but it works. BatchDPG does have an alternative, included with Moonshell, it just doesn't work as well.

Plus Sign Abomination: I misunderstood you. It happens. This could be because: A) I'm not perfect, B) You're not perfect, and/or C) I didn't sleep well last night. I agree with you, I just thought you meant something else which frankly would have been stupid.

FreeDOS+: You make some excellent points and provide some very useful info for non-Windows users, but as Kailieann pointed out, some people just plain don't want .NET.

Valcion: Weren't you permabanned some time ago? Do you do anything besides troll?

Thexare, Xkeeper D1337 : Are those statements at all necessary? Insulting/trolling posts like these only make the situation worse and make you look like a jerk. It hardly makes sense to feed the flames, then complain about the fire.
As for "anti-Microsoft crap", I said Microsoft because .NET and XNA are Microsoft products. Though I don't trust Microsoft, I don't hate them either. I dislike .NET, and that's about it as far as this thread goes.

I don't understand why people on this board are so quick to start flaming and trolling over a simple mistake instead of simply pointing it out. PSA, if you'd just said something like "No, I meant they should have more user-generated content" this mess could have been avoided. I think everyone here, including myself, needs to consider that next time.

I rather enjoy the hypocrisy in how HyperHacker decries MS software for being bloated in his layout a link quite clearly advertising lololol, one of the more bloated browsers out there. There is also the matter of how his layout is the most bloated out of everyone on the entire board.

Honestly I'm considering switching to Opera. FF is indeed getting a bit bloated for my tastes. But the extensions... I don't want to lose those.

Though I certainly don't think my layout is comparable to your average MS product in terms of bloat. I realize it's rather tall, so I added an option a while ago to close the bottom 2 boxes, which uses a cookie.

This has gone too far offtopic. I warned of this earlier. Now I close it. Xeo has permission to repost it, and if this happens again, forumbans will happen.
