The video is probably redundant information for us all, but there's reason in viewing it, if not to rouse action, then at least to hope for a spread of word. Perhaps it is more a seeding of knowledge against future votes for people who would use these methods for food profits. Videos like this do not change anything, and the problem will never go away so, probably remaining mostly unaffected. | By your logic, if we bred hybrid humans, or if aliens invaded us, either scenario depicting another species higher on the "food chain" than us, a sort of holocaust of humanity is A-OK?
I'm not saying the conclusions you are drawling are wrong. I just thing your logic, or perhaps your underlying philosophy on these things, seems severely under-thought. Edit: (I guess I edit these a lot.) I don't want to nitpick your perspective here, which may be what I'm doing, if we're arguing two different points. I'm arguing for a more ethical way to bring meat to the table. What's depicted in that video is horrible, and for me, unacceptable treatment. | Animals eat animals. It's been happening for millions of years, and it is happening today. Only, as humans, we are able to industrialize the manufacture of other animals. Yeah, that video made me sick (expecially when they popped that cows eyes in), and yeah, it is wrong. None of this means anything. Humans are merely the most intellegent, inevitably causing all other animals on the food chain to suffer (even those that should be higher than us). I am not a vegitarian, and this video made no impact on me, and there's my opinion. Hah. | |||

Wanna know what's more painful for the animal? The way it would be killed in the wild. Do you think bears, lions, and other predatory animals care about being humane? No, I didn't think so. Let me ask you this: would you rather have your throat slit clean and die 7 seconds later or would you like to have five lions rip you limb from limb? That's what I thought. Besides, PETA would rather kill a pet then pay the fees to have it adopted. I, personally, don't see the big deal. Animals have been processed for food since the beginning of time. Does modern convenience change anything? No. |

| I assume that video is propaganda for PETA. While I believe in animal rights and whatever, I still eat meat, and the PETA organization looks more like a big scam after reading that uncontroversial site.

| I wouldn't mind PETA *quite* as much if they didn't have to be so f*cking controversial and confrontational all the time.
Did any of you ever see the disgustingly suggestive "Santa isn't coming this year" PETA billboard featuring St. Nick peering down into his pants? (It had to do with milk causing ED or something stupid like that.) That was right here in Spokane, and it was a huge embarassment. Whoever approved the thing deserved to be shot. Can you imagine having to explain something like that to your kids? |
