Ok, so instead of making tons of little topics for all of my hacks and hacking questions, I will store them all in one topic.

Sonic Hacking Related:

Emerald Hill (taking name ideas):

Well I have a problem with the EHZ1 map. As you can see from the screen, thats the bottom of the level. On the actual map, theres much more below it, as shown below in the WIP Map, taken from SonED:

http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/8681/maphm8.png

The area in the first screen is toward the right of the map, which is only the beginning of Emerald Hill. I need to increase the Level Array or something, problem is, dunno how. Another note is character is temporary. So yeah, ignore it.

Pokemon Hacking Related:
Ok so for awhile I've wanted to hack either Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, or Silver. Course I come up with a problem. I download RedMap and the .rar doesn't have anything in it. So now I'm looking for a decent download link for RedMap. And I hope I won't find the same problem I did when I downloaded GoldMap(orwhateveritscalled); I download it, do alot of level editing to where you start in Kanto, rather than the default reigion you go in first, but when I test my rom. It doesn't even save. Wtf. Anyone know what might be going on?

Senn.

Because he looks like Ness. So much. As for the area, call it Jade Glade.

Mind the shameless plug, but Goldmap sucks.

Oh? It seems to be a decent program for me, minus the saving problems, but I believe it might be the source I got it from. Which the link you gave me isn't the same source, of course it might also be the version of Silver I use. Course I believe that theres only one version, minus the reigion versions. Either way I'll check this source out.

Er, that's a whole different program. Goldmap does work (usually) but is plagued by poor design. All the tileset graphics and map locations are defined externally, you have to manage memory manually, etc. Just no reason for any of it, as demonstrated by HOM reading everything from ROM and managing memory correctly. (I think that version does have a leak though. )

Well odd thing now. I used the program, and now my ROM won't open in any emulator at all. And I tried fixing checksum.

Silver. I would have more likley expected the error if I had ran the rom in multipule programs. But I didn't.

All I did was edit the routes to where you're forced to go to Kanto reigion first.
