Oh and a brand new VC game is out. Go Link To The Past! (Even though it is a delight in the rom hacking scene. x.x)

So has anyone actually managed 185 stars in River Run in Excite Truck? Because if so, I suggest you start working on more important things, like perpetual motion or exceeding the speed of light.

Hm, anyone else had this? I booted mine up today and the controller Wiimote wouldn't respond. The lights would blink but it'd never find the console and just shut off. Changed batteries (even though the ones in it turned out to be nearly full), tried to resync, nothing worked. Finally just shut the console off, pulled the power cord for a minute, plugged it back in, and it worked again.

I had something similar yesterday. I was in the main menu of my Wii and wanted to play around a bit in the Photo Channel, so I started it (with the Wiimote and everything fully functional). The screen turned black, the channel was loading, everything was normal.
But when it finished loading and showed me the menu of the Photo Channel, I noticed that no hand would appear if I pointed at the screen. The bottom light of my Wiimote was off, too, and when I was pressing any button, all four just blinked, as if the console would be shut off. I tried the same things (changing batteries and so on), but I couldn't get it to work, so I just rebooted the Wii by pushing the power button on the console twice (the reset button would just place me in the Photo Channel again, not fixing the error) and everything was normal again. I tried to reproduce the error by loading the Photo Channel again, but it was working now. Strange.

This is also the first time this happened to me since I have the console (I got it this Monday).

What are you people doing? I gave my strap a few very hard tugs before using it, and it didn't so much as begin to weaken. You could always tie some fishing line to it if you're going to be that rough on it, then at least if the strap breaks the controller stays put.

That strap is a pain though. I keep forgetting it's there, trying to adjust my pants/open the door/answer the phone/etc with my hand, and having the controller just kinda follow me around and bonk into something. Also, I got a message from Nintendo via WiiConnect24 reminding me to use the silly thing.

Heh, once I pointed the 'mote at the screen and the cursor was upside-down, moving the opposite directions it should have been. Just had to point it away from the sensor and back and it worked again though.

my hand was sweaty and I wasn't swinging that hard... but apparently I don't know my own strength. I actually am now considering buying grips for the remotes.

I could see some people having fun with the VC releases this week... Kirby's Adventure, Ice Climber and Kid Icarus. A fine NES lineup.

Wonder when Nintendo and everyone else are going to dip into the RPG library for these systems... I'm surprised Sega hasn't dumped Phantasy Star II on everyone yet at the very least.

Woopy? I really don't care about that channel. It seems to be too infrequent and too...I don't know. I just really wish it would've been more exciting. Like DUEL TO THE DEATH CHANNEL.

It almost seemed like an excuse to get a firmware update out right away. Makes me wonder if someone found an exploit. I heard no news of one though.
