I'm looking for a way to burn DivX encoded videos to DVD for free in Linux. Does anyone know of any good programs or converters?

Yes, with FFmpeg and dvdauthor.

ffmpeg -i file_one.avi -target ntsc-dvd (or pal-dvd) -pass 1 video_one.mpeg
ffmpeg -i file_one.avi -target ntsc-dvd (or pal dvd) -pass 2 video_one.mpeg
Two passes is slower (twice as slow as single pass), but it gives higher video quality. On the second pass, you'll need to say Yes to overwritting videne.mpeg. Change filenames appropriately for each video.

I forget the command for dvdauthor, haven't used it in a bit; but it's fairly simple to read the manual and figure out how.

I've also heard that DeVeDe works fairly well, although I could never get it to work.

Tovid is supposedly really nice.

FreeDOS, just wondering how I could go about doing multiple chapters with your method...

The dvdauthor documentation adequetly tells you how to make chapters for either each file, or spilt from one input file.

Also, it might be of note that DeVeDe is a frontend that uses dvdauthor

Ok thanks! I'll try those as soon as I get them home. (I don't have internet at the moment *sad face*)
