Did Yoshi's Island use a type of sprite layering (so those arms could overlap the body)? I don't remember if it did, but if it didn't, then these predicted looks for the finished DK cannot be right. It looks unfinished if anything, but I'm sure it's possible to resurrect him back into the game.

If he were back in the game, it would be pretty neat

Hey, all this YI hacking lately has definitely been rising, does this mean that YI hacking is back from the dead?!

Yoshi's Island Sprites are almost all layered.
Yoshi has a separate set of Hands, Feet, Bodies and Heads.

Heh, neat. It would add a neat obstacle, but now that I think about it, the angry flowers may have replaced it. It acts similar in the way it rushes forward on the ground and attacks. That, and they could have thought it looked out of place. It just looks...Different. I wouldn't mind it, but others would.

If he was colored better, and not a plain two colored sprite, it would fit alot better. Maybe Rare got pissed at Nintendo and said no.

Theres alot of reasons it could not be in the final...It's times like this I wish we could ask the game makers...

But Nintendo owns the character of DK

Rare can't tell them no to using their own character who they simply only licensed to Rare in the first place..

Hrm, maybe.
But from what I've heard, Shiggy never liked the DKC series too much.
And the DKC serie was the first that introduced the tie to DK.

I recall Shigeru insulted the Donkey Kong Country series saying "good art over bad gameplay is all the gamers want" but he later took that back saying it was a good game.

I think it was around the time of yoshi's island because they said it should be "more like DKC"

Maybe you could try replacing yoshi with donkey in tile molester, just as a funney hack. But then again, maybe yoshi and donkey kong have 2 different sizes making it near impossible to resize. I say good find and that it could have been a beta sprite.
